I believe they deserve our respect, but at a minimum, none of them should be treated as expendable. Men like us who love these places could probably stand to have some additional door knocks / security protocols in the name of protecting the women we go here for.

It will be difficult to prove murder. The mother should consider suing HK / Cascadas for Employer Negligence. You should pass it on.

I have a question about changing money. Can someone recommend a good, reputable cambio? Or, if you take smaller bills (1, 5, 10) can you pay for everything from food to HK club that way?

A popular place for an exchange is the San Ysidro trolley station. Two or three currency exchange places right next to Mc Donald's. My opinion is better to use US dollars because they are accepted all over Tijuana in all clubs without a problem. If you are unfamiliar with Mexican currency and coins in a dark club and after a few drinks the waiter can easily cheat you because you have to divide everything by 20 to know the US dollar value (pain in the neck.) Best to have a lot of US $ 1 bills for tips and for.... groping chicas in the club and US $ 5 bills because it's easy to pay for a beer in club and taxi, food etc.

Wow, very sorry to hear all of this. If I was the mother I might've called the police a couple hours into that 12 hour wait though I suppose with the way things work in Mexico with the ability to bribe police and other first responders that may not have done much good anyway.

Can I ask you another question? A girl I know at HK forwarded me the following explanation of what happened, words that came directly from someone who knew the girl that was killed:

"Mi novia fue asesinada alli el lunes por la noche. En la habitacion 404. No la revisaron durante 15 horas. Estuve alli con su madre durante 13 horas rogandoles que abrieran la puerta why se negaron. Fue drogada, robada why dada por muerta. La administracion no hizo nada. Nos dijeron que revisaron la habitacion why que no habia nadie. Ella estaba alli muriendo. ".

Were you the one who wrote this? I assumed that when the person who wrote this referred to your friend as "mi novia" that it was probably just a close girlfriend of hers. But maybe these are your words? Also, does her last name begin with "Chis" or "de Chis"? (That is what another girl from Adelitas is telling me.).

What I can tell you is that the picture of the girl from Facebook was included, via text message, in the same explanation I received (in Spanish above) about the killing. So that is a rumor that is being spread around widely that the girl from Facebook is the girl who passed in room 404. Given that, it might be worth clarifying the real identity of the girl in 404. Both for her sake and for the sake of the other poor girl from Facebook who's apparently being incorrectly associated with this murder.

Also, are you certain it was a "murder" as opposed to an accidental OD that they're trying to cover up?

Absolutely, this should go without saying. But obviously that's how they're treated in the clubs. This type of thing is nothing new from what I understand. Honestly makes me feel like I need to sit down and give some serious thought as to whether I should continue to give business to clubs like this that treat women this way. There's an argument to be made that, as customers, we're contributing to some of the ugly stuff going on here.

Well, yes and no. It was a legit question and deserves more than a flippant remark.

OP. I've exchanged money for many years. Most cambios don't do the bill switch trick. I think one poster said he was cheated in that manner, but it's easy to avoid by simply stating the amount you wish to change when handing it to the clerk, and make sure you recount the money after you receive it.

Now as far as reputable, all cambios say "No Commission. " However, some sneak in a "Service Charge. " This is terribly dishonest and these places should be avoided. I can only think of three places, offhand, where I've encountered this. There are two cambios at the eastern terminus of San Ysidro Blvd. They're side by side. IIRC the one on the right sneaks in a service charge, the other does not. I usually change my money at the Baja Mex drive-through on San Ysidro Blvd. One time there was a huge line and I was in a hurry. I stopped at the little one opposite Baja Mex, the one that NEVER has anybody using it. I changed my money, hopped in the car, and was mentally calculating as I left. Something didn't add up so I checked the receipt and, sure enough, a service charge was there at the bottom. The third place I can recall is the one diagonally across Sanchez Taboada from Costco. Next to the Roma pharmacy. They, too, dinged me once with a service charge. So I no longer use them, either.

The service charge is not large, but it's the principle. I have never had a problem with any of the cambios near the trolley station at the border. Just look for the best rates.

In my 15 years visiting HK, I have not had one single good arriba with the girls who flirt / approach you. Conversely, some of the greatest, nastiest lays I've ever had (including civie one night stands in my personal life) have come from girls who were sitting by themselves at a table, looking dejected. Sorry for your loss and may she Rest In Peace. You can possibly find out more about the group chat from the chicas at work. It is alarming how much the club protects their image, but then again, they need the clients to keep pouring money into machine and many of the workers are just a cog in the larger machine. I would imagine the cleanup guys would have found your friend as they are pretty prompt with making sure you know time is up. They were probably told to keep quiet or risk losing their jobs. Such a sad state of affairs and hope the club can make safer working conditions for the ladies as they wouldn't exist without them. Everyone makes money off their drinks, time, etc.

Happened to me. Would not give my money back until I handed over my ID. Lady asked me why I was changing $1000 and I told her I didn't like what conversion rate the dentist was using. Just about any place you go deals in dollars and the exchange is usually close to 20/1. However when I was in Cabo many places still post 15/1 which hasn't been the exchange rate in forever. Most places post so just look for a sign that says cambio. Peso was supposed to keep sinking but I think if oil goes north of $100 it should strengthen.

15 to 1 is horrible. USA Near San Ysidro border has best rates, but Tijuana has 20 to 1 near the Zona. It is displayed on the LED boards. If it displays 0's, then they are closed.

Was a little sparce in the afternoon but was pretty full of pretty girls by 5:00. The last two times there I have met a new girl that had just started. Hopefully that means they will be coming in good numbers this spring.

Ave de Universidade has dozens tall, dark trannies hang out in colorful dresses, chasing cars on the street in the day time. They look pretty skanky. Should be far more lively after dark.

I was given a tour of the city by a professor. He was an old staunch Catholic, repeatedly apologetic about the sexy scene and high crimes in Sao Paolo. After the tour he took me to the most famous churrascaria for lunch. It was a very fancy place but there were no clients, just 2 of us. In comparison with Tijuana, the crowds here are always far bigger, meats more delicious and the fun factors exceptional, not to mention nice, clean, hot, smiling sexy, biologically real girls 24/7.

HK is super charged with sexy excitements primarily with hot, sweet, smiling girls in bikinis swirling around flirting with guys.

IMHO, the flirting factor makes HK unique and far more attractive than other clubs. Other bars in Tijuana, Adelita, Chicago, Tropical, have lots of naked girls, but they tend to be passive, lack the flirt factor, so those bars cannot match the appeals of HK.

If girls approach me in HK, I would always tip them to encourage to come to work, even if I have to gently turn them away. Hell haths no fury like a woman scorned. In my life I made a lot of life-time enemies with women whom I didn't want relationships, however nice and gentle I avoided them. They just hate and despise me for life. Damn.
