"Congo Bongo" is an old Atari video game IIRC. I think you meant Coko Bongo. It's more like a 20 minute walk from the Zona. In my opinion it is the worst drinking establishment in Tijuana. I just wrote about this place in another thread. The cover charge is around $20 USD but it's open bar once inside. You won't have any hope of luring hot chicas to your table, enticing them with free drinks because the drinks are free anyway. The liquor they serve is absolutely horrendous. Worse than bottom of the barrel. For me, it's undrinkable. It's so cheap and impure you can feel the hangover coming on as you're drinking it. Beer is draft and watered down to shit. This place attracts a barely 18 crowd that has not yet learned how to discern decent liquor from home-distilled dog. You're better off trying your luck at El Copeo.

Went down with a bro Wednesday night, arriving about 8. HK was not crowded, about the same number of guys any Wednesday. The club was fairly quiet and relaxing, no noisy parties like last week.

Interesting take. As a relative newbie, your depiction is what I see on my visits. I have walked there numerous times. Crossing that bridge, there are numerous camps that pre-date the caravan. The. 50 cal trucks do take some getting used to.

As for the generic, the pharmacy at the border is a rip off. But 70 cents a pill is what I pay every visit at Piri. (Directly across from the Wax Museum.) Not in the best area but haven't found anyone to beat that price.

Border Patrol- Whats up with the questions? 35 years ago we didn't even have to show them our IDs. If you looked American, you got waved in. I got less hassle from the Israelis when I told them I will visit the Occupied Territories.
