Went to HK Friday evening to have some fun. It was lively and some chicas were aggressive. They had a shaving cream show upstairs so I settled in front. 2 chicas flacas were sliding around the stage acting frisky. I played with their hot holes and gave propina. The bar takes zero. That's a fact. I can't believe some mongers believe everything that comes out of a puta's mouth, especially when lying could have a positive financial impact. HK is the strictest law-abiding bar in the Zona. They always make sure a chica's papers are 100% in order for her to work. I know of a case where a new, just turned 18 chica, who was young-looking had all her papers in 100% proper order and they still didn't allow here to work since they weren't fully convinced she was 18. She was required to submit additional paperwork from her former school in order to convince management she was 18. In the meantime she worked at Chavelas which is less strict. And yeah I know HK and LC have the same owner. And HK strictly adheres to the ID rule-chicas must present an ID in order to work everyday. It doesn't matter how long you've worked there, or how when they know you. No ID=no work. Also HK is very strict with health card renewals. No current health card means you're working at Adelita or Deja Vu for the weekend. HK chicas that are turned away for work routinely end up at other, less strict bars until they resolve their situation at HK. You think a bar this strict would openly commit major violations of pimping laws that could get them shut down, seized, prosecuted and jailed like what happened at Nicky's and Madonna?

And the reason for keeping tracking of chicas leaving for arriba is simple. It is just basic business practice of keeping tracking of your employees. You own a business, you should know where your employees are. If you own a small business with only a handful of employees, you just keep track of them in your head. But let's say you run a large business, like a UPS delivery hub. You make the drivers sign in / out every time they leave the premises. No different than at HK. It's just keeping track of your employees. Also, it provides a little bit of security as when a chica is gone too long they can go check on her upstairs or try to force the monger to buy a bucket. And it is also a way of preventing chicas from leaving work early. They had a crack down in 2014 but before then chicas on slow weeknights when they didn't feel like working, would call in a guy friend and pretend like she was going upstairs with him. Instead they left and go did whatever.

I've asked some of the girls about the arriba money before, and They all said its all theirs. None for HK- BUT, it was almost two years ago, and I never ask again because I already knew.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I think you are right. They make a ton of money on alcohol sales. I'm just not convinced that's where it ends. I could be dead wrong. I have absolutely no insider info. But like I said, I believe they track the ins and outs of a girl for some reason and I don't think it's simply for fichas.

I think Hong Kong more than survives on alcohol sales alone. Think about it, they sell a $. 40 bottle of beer for $4. They sell a $. 30 ficha beer for $7 after they pay the chica commission. One weekends they sell buckets of fichas like Cinepolis sells buckets of popcorn. $70 for a bucket they paid $3 for. $27 for a bottle of Kirkland water they paid $. 15 for. Those profit margins are just astonishing. All they have to do is pay for their liquor / business license, utilities bills, grease a few palms at City Hall and they're home free. They pay next to nothing for labor. The security / cleaning guys probably make no more than $15-$20/ day. And guess what, meseros and the robe guy pay HK for the right to work there. It wouldn't surprise me if the customer service counter guys along with the valets don't get paid a wage either.

I am amazed that the guys here claim to sit at Kowloon bar's corner, but never really saw what goes on with the strippers' tips. The tip money is most time very little, sometimes nothing. It makes me feel sorry for the girls. Solely in the interest of learning about the very lucrative business of putas bars and poor lives of these girls, it takes the keen observation and analysis skills of a good investigative reporters to dig into the true sad truths:

The stage butch would sweep the dollar tips together off the stage with her feet. She then counts and records them in the note book and give all the bills to the strippers, who would always take out roughly 25% and hand them back to the butch. So she was tipping the butch.

The butch would just stick that money straight into her pocket. Since she never counts or records that money, it makes me think that money would go to just the butch alone, not the rest of the overhead people like floor managers, security, bar tenders or DJ's, who are on salaries. Otherwise she would definitely have to count and record them so she would know how much to divide out among those people.

Again the tip money is most times very little. One of the bros pointed out HK / Cascada also makes money off the girls by making them stay in Cacasda for $50 a night. A lot of those poor girls could not make enough money to pay living expenses. They just quit and went home after a few weeks.

When I was at the HK recently I saw that security "sweeps" the bar / stage after a girl is finished dancing. I was sitting with a dancer at the time and asked why. She said security takes the money and divides it up among several people, like the DJ, the bartenders, etc. I don't know specifically if management gets a cut but it wouldn't surprise me.

They check the girls in and out, to keep track of how long their gone. If their not in the bar, their not selling fichas. Also, to protect the girls from danger.

I stayed in a single room at the seventh floor which is clearly under construction / renovation.

The lift went till floor 6 and I had to take the stairs to 7th floor.

I liked the lighting in what I assume are new rooms, there is recessed blue lights behind and under the bed and on the ceiling, looks nice and sexy.

I had to crop the photos to upload them, the cropped photos are not as clear as I would have wanted them, but still gives a sense of what the room looks like with the new lighting.

My favorite spot in HK is at the end of the main bar or the table right next to it, right by the main stage. And I make it a habit of closely watching what happens to the stage tips. The stage handlers, often Elie or Lilo, go up on stage and sweep the money with their feet. Then they neatly arrange it into a stack. They may or may not count it, you can't really tell what's going on in their minds while they're arranging the bills. Then they hand the entire stack to the girl. They withhold nothing. I'm sure of this I've watched in close proximity literally hundreds of times. Usually the girl will tip a few bucks to the stage handler. The money is not taken by security and divided up amongst the staff. The chicas keep 100% of their stage tips and are free to tip as they please.

Sure, I agree. But, my point is, they track the fichas sold. So it's not a mystery who is selling fichas. Yet they still track their ins and outs. If it was all about fichas, they have that info with the brown shirt at the door recording names.

I think the reason is simple. HK needs the chica in the bar to sell more drinks to make money. You can read about this from several other posts.

I was told by a chica that her room in Cascadas is $50 a night so that is another way HK makes money.

Exactly my point. While I can't claim to know every time a chica takes a shit (guess I'm not CIA material), I don't believe HK survives on alcohol sales alone. We talk about all of the corruption in Mexico. Yet, some would have us believe HK owners are above finding a way to milk the girls out of more money.

You are right, Captain. They record everything. Why? They do it for a reason. What's the rule in Mexico? For the dollar. I don't pretend to know a fee schedule or can confirm such a thing. But until someone can come up with a reason they keep track of everything, I strongly believe money is the driving force.
