I visit Tijuana 4-6 times a year. It's about a 10 hours trip one way, including flights, border, etc. I make average money, nothing spectacular. Above national average but not sure where I land by California standards. And yes, the temptation is there to make sure the trip is worth it. It's already $1000 to make the trip so why squabble over $40. However, for two very good reasons, I do negotiate to $80 tops at HK. First, I don't want to damage the market for locals. But, I also selfishly look at it as in I'm already shelling out $1 K in travel, $1500 play money. What can I get at home for $2500? My point is $40 is a drop in the bucket but even the visitors have to do their part to keep prices in check.

For example, take the older man who makes good money but can only get to Tijuana a couple times per year and can only get an errection once per day, he is likely to be happy to pay $120 if he likes that girl better than the $60 girl down the street.

Plenty of people in California, especially in Silicon Valley, can make more that in an hour so it is not surprising.

$120 per hour translates to about $250,000 per year for a salaried person. That is a lot of money, even for Silicon Valley.

The real point being made is there are many people that have enough money that paying a girl $60 or $120 really doesn't make much difference to them. I agree HK chicas seem to have quite a bit of liberty on the job.

They seem to go to work on whatever days and whatever hours they want. Also after sessions, most girls would immediately come down to the club to hook new guys, but a few would disappear for an hour or two for no reason. I always suspected they went back to their rooms to do some drugs.

I know this issue has been covered many times already here, and many of you already know everything about it, but let's say, just for some folks who plan for their first visit to Tijuana.

I'm not that veteran in Tijuana monger scene, but since I happened to live in SD, I've been to Tijuana bars normally once a week in past 4 to 5 years (at some occasions, I visited more than 7 times a week).

I know that each of you guys have your own situation, but here are some of my observations / opinions regarding to the cost of the arriba.

People think $80 for HK girls, and $60 for the girls in other bars on average, but what I want to tell you is that you'd better consider that price as the upper bound not on average. Personally, somehow, I've never paid more than $80 for HK girls in my more than 200 sessions. (I'm an ugly old Asian guy in mid 40's). I know many many HK spinners with excellent performance, but I've never seen any one of them refuse to go arriba at $80.

So you can consider that if you failed to negotiate down to $80 or less, I would say you'd better move on to other girl. Hey, you are not going to marry her.

The lowest I paid at HK was $50 (then 1000 pesos) and the highest was $80 USD. The lowest in other bars (Tropicanas, Chavelas, Chicago) was 600 pesos, and highest was $70 USD. The best performer I've ever met happened to be that 600 peso girl who is my current novia. Yeah, the performance is not always proportional to the price.

I know there are some girls that are adamant to their $100 line, but normally it is either they are really very new to the bar, or they don't like you (or simply a stupid girl).

Some of the girls I know even asked $150 in their first week at HK, and went arriba with me at $80 a few weeks later. When the girls from other bar or other town arrive at HK for the first time, some of their friends show off like "Hey at HK, you can earn $100 or more for one arriba! Life is good!

Some other cases are that some girls from resort cities such as Puerto Penasco or Monterrey, where average cost of the arriba is high, but they don't want to be spotted by their friends or family members so they work at Tijuana, but they still try to charge similar amount to their HK customers, but normally you can see those girls either realize the norm of Tijuana soon or get back to their home town.

Regardless of the exchange rate, you'd better negotiate with pesos. Sometimes, I exchange only the amount for arriba. At first, I was worried that it may look awkward if I pay everything else in dollars and use pesos for arriba, but don't worry about it, I've never seen anyone said anything about it. And as told in other posts, most of them are not that mathematically strict to the exchange rate. I experienced many cases like this.

"So 1000 pesos, OK?

"Sii, vamonos" with no hesitation.

Yeah, seriously. , If a girl opens up calculator app in her cell for exchange rate when you ask in pesos, it is normally a bad sign for her performance in arriba. (that's my criterion. Haha.).

Normally I try to negotiate (even lightly) at the end of the first ficha drink, and if I see any odd ball things like too high quote or all business attitude, I just let them go.

I even see one of my amiga in HK who always arriba with me at 1000 pesos, quoted $100 to my friend who visited me from my home country even at my presence. They are very good at sensing the smell of the tourists.

For the street girls, almost 100% of the time, you can apply 10:1 exchange rate. If they ask $40, that means 400 pesos is enough.

One good thing about these girls is that they don't normally change their performance depending on the final negotiated price, so don't be shy on any negotiations.

You don't have to feel sorry about the living expense of these girls with their babies. The living cost in Mexico is incredibly cheap. One month rent of a luxury 2 bed room apartment in a very good location (near zona rio) in Tijuana is 600 USD.

In some big cities in Sonora, a one month rent of a two bed room apartment in a very good neighborhood is 3000 pesos. 10000 pesos is more than enough for a girl and a baby for their one month living, if they don't party all the time.
