There's no established sex tourism companies in Costa Rica (while prostitution is legal there, pimping (TG) is not!), there are a few USA based outfits created to rip off the unaware gringos, and they should be avoided.
On the Internet you'll find all the information you need to have a good time in CR. Read this forum and CRT, then go to the BM around 5 pm for happy hour, and you'll find somebody who would give a few pointers as to what to do.
Don't worry about a thing, you'll have a good time.

First thank you both, I very much appreciate your input, and the time you took to respond to my enquery.

In order:

Thunderpants, is there somewhere to arrange such an accompanyment? or are such arrangements so common that the very idea of an agency is rediculous? Or are you referring to picking up a Tica at a bar and going from there? The general tone of the forum (as far as I have read so far) seems to indicate that the San Jose scene is devoted to those staying in San Jose, and picking up locals at local bars, for services in local hotels. From Nastyboys reply, he seems to indicate that persuading a local girl would rely to some extent on luck (finding one not tied down with offspring) or my almost nonexistant charm "Hit the streets and you might meet someone who would be willing and able to go with you for a small adventure." Such reliance on luck or charm is what money must overcome if I am to swoop into town, enjoy a week or so on the beach, and leave drained and refreshed.

Make no mistake, I take your criticism seriously, and I am wading through as much as I can as fast as I can. From what I had read to the point of posting my question, the general tone was of securing services in and within San Jose. (I have not been able to locate the discussion of the Jeep Tica - yet - even with your pointer to the subject. though I have not quit searching yet)

As far as your link, yes that is exactly the kind of thing I am looking at. In fact if you contrast that with http://www.costaricaescorts.com which is the site I was originally referring to, with an all inclusive resort situation the only difference is the companionship, and about 2k for one week.

In fact my question boils down to can I land in CR, secure the services of a lady for a week outside the confines of the city for 75-100/day, take her to something like tangomar, and not have another concern. Or would it be advisable for a first time visitor with no luck and not much charm (not to mention I am not fluent in spanish) to rely on the services of an established sex tourism company.

As indicated above, luck and charm are not my strong suits. Money can overcome all, I just don't want to be pissing it away needlessly ;-)

Flame first: RTFF, Bob .... somewhere in all these shitload of posts there was discussion ... there was some Tica (I think she was a Tica), with a jeep who was advertising as a guide and companion. But you'll have to dig it up The best I can do to narrow it down for you was it was sometime this year. She even had a webpage and she quoted prices.

If so, I would assume just make the reservation and show up with the honey. I doubt they would turn you away. They make no bones about the sex tourisism industry down there. As soon you get off the plane and before you clear customs they are already trying to sell you Viagra.

The money you're thinking of spending might be a little light. I can do $2k easy in one week staying at a discount priced hotel and the rest on pootie.

Okay, so, how do you get the honey....my first thoughts on getting any of the working girls I met in San Jose to go would be difficult and expensive. Difficult because it seems they usually have a kid. Expensive because you will have to pay for all day plus expenses.

So the next best thing is to work with your charming personality. Hit the streets and you might meet someone who would be willing and able to go with you for a small adventure. For instance, on one of my trips, while cruising in the Paseo Colon area, I saw a sign that said it was a tourism thing and they were giving away free maps. I can get into the free map so I cruise on down there. Inside there was a tall, chubby blonde in a miniskirt that caught my eye so I hung around to get my map and make conversation. I let her sell my a tour and said goodbye. Later the girl called me at my hotel and was inviting me over for a "whiskey-cito", (her words). If I didn't already have something planned I probably would have taken her up on it. But anyway, the opportunity was there.

I haven't done what you're looking to do so my advice isn't all that great, but if I wanted to do what you're planning...that's what I would do.

As a former underground resistance fighter you should understand the importance of maintaining a low profile and being discrete. A monger's face, or at least some monger's face, was shown in JBird's original post #25 and JBird responsibly thought better of it and took loveseekr's advice to censor or delete it. Before anyone posts a photo that includes identifiable details of anyone else, they need to think how they'd feel if a photo of themselves were similarly posted on the internet. It would be a different matter if JBird knew that monger and that he was ok with having his face shown or otherwise had specific permission to do it. Incidentally, it is my on personal view that a similar sensitivity should be shown to posting chica pics, although their significant others are perhaps somewhat less likely to come across them on the internet. I hope that clears it up for you.

I am thinking about a vacation in CR, and would like get the boards input. What I was looking at was an all inclusive "escorted" vacation. An all inclusive package, with Resort, meals, activities, and a companion - all for the low low price of ~3g's.

Since I am a long time lurker, sometime poster to the USA board - though as a different member name (put a space in my current name and look me up if you like- or look up 'smoothbore' for my previous handles since I know some members don't appreciate a first post that is just a bunch of questions! however I have nothing to offer -yet- to the CR board) I thought I would do some research here.

In the first few posts of this thread, some six pages ago, Doombringer321,Blind Lust and Ace00 posted what amounts to a tritis(sic) on mongering in CR. Somewhere in there was a comment about prostitution being legal, but escort services and pimps are not, and should be avoided - that would seem to include my all inclusive package deal. Most of the rest of the posts in this and other CR sections address mongering in and around San Jose. From what I can distill, this would be very much like me heading down to Tijuana for an evening of loud, legal, mongering. Which certainly has its place, except that I would like to have more of the Margaritas on a quiet beach with a nice Tica at my side kind of week.

So on to my questions. Has anyone else used the package deal, what where your experiences, is 3 - 3.5 G's about right for this kind of scenario - or is this the special 'dumb-ass' rate for those who don't know how to arrange things for themselvs? If I book at a resort on my own, can I find a 'companion' for the week once I get there, and would that even save me any money? My concern with this is I doubt very much if the Ticas are working anywhere near the resorts, I don't want to get out to my quiet beach with the margaritas but no Tica! Would the girls from the city, travel for a week to the beach resort? If I tried what amounts to bringing a hooker into a nice resort, when I try to check in, would I run into trouble, cause they just don't like our kind there, or would I just pay a chica fee - even though I'm paying for double occupancy?

Any comments, suggestions, answers, or flames are welcome.

I know I wouldn't pay $100 a night in CR for a hotel. Are you getting a deluxe room at the Sportsman? I recall looking at their website and seeing some rooms in the $50-$70 range.

$500 a week for a chica is doable if you find a chica that really wants to go to the beach. It will take some work, and you must "test drive" any chica before you take her.

As for other budget destinations, other than Thailand, your money will go much further in Jakarta, Cambodia and Buenos Aires (though the latter is getting to the point where it's no longer a bargain).

Love Seeker, I believe you will be hard pressed to get full time companionship for a week for $500. In my experience, you should expect to pay between $100-150 per night for the week in Costa Rica.

It's also my view that one should spend some shorter times with several chicas before committing to one for several full days together - to insure that there is both personal chemistry and that she provides the sexual favors you desire.

I also must say, don't compare what you paid in Thailand to what you will pay in Costa Rica. Thailand is quite a bit less costly, in terms of hotels, food, and companionship. Also, deep sea fishing costs quite a bit out of Jaco or Quepos. The cheapest I've ever gotten away with has been $200 for a 1/3 share of a 6 hour trip. I don't know where you've gone fishing before, but Costa Rica costs much more than Baja, for example.
