Talk to lancer, but this seems to be OK for people, close to help, close to praia, etc.
Rua Xavier de Silveria.

Coming into town, looking for folks to hang out. I'm in my 30s, decent looking, athletic and got fair game. I know this town pretty well -- It'll be my fifth time visiting, but I'm kind of an on-and-off monger.
I'll probably live out my porn star dreams the first day, do it three, four, five times.
But I know how I am, and I'll get bored by the second or third day and look for something more edifying. Maybe head down the shore to Buzios.
Be either not-quite-so single-minded, or terribly single-minded. I think I get bored because I'm still on a bit of a mental leash. Itd be good to let my devil out some more.

I just checked out Air fares to Rio up to Feb 2007 and Continental Airlines has fares $550 plus tax from Newark. this is very good as the prices recently have been in the $1000 as most of you know and I wouldn't expect these prices to last either, I just bought mine for the next trip.

I'm looking for Rio hotel suggestions. Will be staying with the gf in Rio next month. Would like a hotel in Copa, Ipanema or Leblon, that is nice and clean, within walking distance of the praia and not expensive. I've stayed at Marina Palace and Sol Ipanema. Both were nice but a tad pricey.
We will be spending one day at the US consulate up on Avenida President Wilson, but I am assuming that we do not want to stay near Flamengo/Gloria area.
Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Turf Builder

I'll be traveling to Rio with a fellow mongerer during the aforementioned dates. We are newbies to Rio although we have been doing our due diligence. Are there any experienced Rio mongerers looking for wingmen? How about other newbies?

Brazil doesnt have direct flight to Asia. You either go thru US or Europe.
You can try AA, JAL, United, Asiana and Varig(it may go belly up). If you go thru LA, the lay over is about 3 hours.

I will be making my first trip to Brazil and Rio De Janeiro this coming May 16th to 23rd. I hope to make it to some of the clubs and sites in Rio and sample the local products while there. In the mean time I'll be rading up here on what is available in area.
