After almost 2 years in Libya I am finally on my way back to a friendly country.

I expect to be in Rio this weekend for the first time in three years. Found a nice hotel a couple of blocks from the Balcony bar which I am happy to see still exists. I am crushed Help is gone... Does anyone know if the Curascaria (Spelling is not my strong point) around the corner from the balcony Bar is still there? Anyway if you see what looks like a derelict version of Santa at the Balcony that's probably me getting reacquainted with Alcohol.

When I'm in Rio on St. Patrick’s Day I usually go to Shenanigans Irish pub in Ipanema, I'll be there March 17, if anyone wants to imbibe in some Guinness and check out the local talent I'll be there. Renting a friends place in Ipanema, so Ill be close.

After dancing at Sambódromo with Beija-Flor (and coming in second because some lazy Brit didn't bother to learn the Enredo or Samba),I decided to learn drumming. I was fortunate to have my teacher ( a cousin of one of the drummers for Beija-Flor) take me under his wing. Now I have the opportunity to play in Carnaval. I will be heading there for my first audition in May. If anyone wants to hook up for a drink let me know. I speak, read and write Português very well. Been going since 1998.
