I would 100% join and pay membership if it wasn't Bitcoin and I hadn't already read about so many issues with Bitcoin and the wait alone so if any member that can PM is down for some mongering guide and or meetup for a Q& A and a beer / meal on me it would mean a lot while there. Don't speak Spanish so translation apps are going to be my best friend LOL. The board has been amazing and I've been doing research here as well as in the web just for things to do and travel tips, really just would enjoy a fellow mongers company who knows the area while I'm there even for one evening. Safe travels all! And of course I'll give a full report of all my experiences after I get back regardless, I do want to contribute and will.

My flights are booked for my first Colombia trip (solo, and basically zero Spanish). I'm flying in and out of Bogota June 23 to July 7. I'm flexible and open to suggestions, but I plan to spend the first week in Bogota, second week in Medelland, and likely an overnight in San Andres sandwiched between. I was considering also spending some time in Cartagena during my two week trip but I lost all interest in Cart after I read about the price hike there; my strat is shorter sessions in the sub-$100,000 cop range, 100 k-150 k for occasional longer sessions or MSOG (that's Rubmaps shorthand for "multiple shots on goal" and I might be willing once or twice to go to 200 k for a 9 or 10.

I'm pretty hardcore and have little-to-zero apprehensions about risky places & activities, but nevertheless it will help a lot to meet up with another ISGer.

And still a "regular member" so I can't DM yet. I would pay double or triple if I could to more easily become a premium member faster; currently I'm awaiting my bitcoin purchase to be finalized (kill me! So hopefully you guys can just reply to this post until I can complete the million-year long bitcoin thing.

I'm going to be in Cartagena from July 14 - 19. I've read the past 10 pages, and it doesn't seem there's a consensus or majority opinion on where to stay? It seems anywhere in Bocagrande, El Laguito, Central walled region is fine, and hotels are generally visitor-averse and Airbnb's are more lax. Did I understand that correctly?
