I'll be in Quito for a week this month and returning for a week for the Ultimate Event as well in Feb. First trips to Quito but I'll let you know what I find out. Brazil is my normal playground ) Let's have a drink@9000 ft.

Sure, this is my first time in Quito. Be arriving Monday the 14th. Staying at the Andino. Attending conference at the Swissotel, but staying there was too expensive. If you like, leave msg at the Andino for Dan. Made 3 night reservation for the Andino, then see what's available closer to the action. Could use a wingman. Been to CR (San Jose) twice in the past yr, and going again in May.

Stayed a few days last week@Andino hotel. Clean, not fancy. Miguel the manager speaks English along with the staff. Very close to the Swiss hotel. Breakfast is marginal. Internet is not the greatest but works. Decent place for the money.

I'm leaving on Monday night (Jan 17) for two weeks in Ecuador. Thanks to the internet (and most importantly this website) , I'm as prepared as a newbie tourist can be to tackle Quito. I've reserved what appears to be a decent hostal for 6 nights, have 4 days of day tours planned, printed copies of Tung's maps and chongo reviews, and bought a 24 pack of ultra thin insurance policies. Then it's on to Cuenca for a 5 days of sightseeing before heading back to Quito and then home.

I just wanted to thank you all in advance for your contributions to this forum. I've spend countless hours reviewing the postings and I feel I've come up with a good gameplan for my nighttime activities. Mongering in a new city is always a bit intimidating at first, but I'm sure I'll adjust quickly and feel like a seasoned veteran after my trip is over.

I'm pretty good about writing thorough reports of my mongering activities in foreign destinations, so I'll be sure to contribute with a report in the Ecuador forum from the newbie's perspective. 20 minutes of carnal passion for the cost of a Burger King value meal. Yes, I'll take the fur burger with a side of thighs, please.
