Trying to get to sosua that late makes no sense. Book an airbnb. Good chance you can hook up with a local for the night. Cab to sosua would cost 150 plus. It is 4 hours and T night dangerous. Santo domingo can be a good time if you speak little Spanish. If not give me a pm. I can give you some layup moves.

Posts: 341If I were you I would stay that night in, let's say, Boca Chica and next day take the bus to Sosua.
Santo Domingo to Sosua is a long drive and you'll have to pay good money for that.

Posts: 89Sept 2 to Sept 13 (flexible plane ticket)
I'll be in Santo Domingo solo. I couldn't resist at plane tickets from Southern California going for $200 va Copa. Tickets have no change fees nor do I have to pay for fare price difference if I have to cancel and rebook to SD. Dates are flexible. If anyone else is around for that amount of time and wants to meet or up even share an Airbnb, PM me.
Lived in Cabarete for 3 months back in 2015. During that time, went to Sosua often. Now I'm interested in discovering what the capital has to offer. 35 years old, easy going, etc. All of my buddies would rather go to Vegas than travel outside the US.
Not a newbie. My first mongering trip was 18 years old in Rio de Janeiro back in 03. I went with a group of buddies and was blown away. Slowed down on the mongering trips after my mid 20s. Haven’t done a trip since 2015 Cabarete.
Open to traveling to different cities to check out what DR has to offer.

I am making my first trip to the DR; SD only, staying at Barcelo. Any advice and / or companionship in mongering would be much appreciated. More familiar with Brazilian termas / boates.

My next visit to Santo Domingo is a short trip August 31 to September 3. Hotel Palacio Zona Colonial, I got an Expedia deal for net $52.00 per night after redemption of some Expedia points. Palacio is a nice boutique hotel which is multiple guest friendly. It has a small but nice pool area and just steps from Supermercado Nacional and El Conde.
