So the airfare went down almost $100 last Tuesday and I decided to return. My plan is to spend most of my time in Santo Domingo and a couple of days in Sosua. Not sure were to stay yet, maybe a couple of days in Casona Dorada, Casa Cayena in Sosua and my final days in non guest friendly remodeled Hotel Jaragua.

I booked my first night in Malecon Hilton for $84 with taxes included thanks to Gustazos which is the Caribbean version of Groupon. Sunday, it is time for heading north to Sosua. Wilfried already confirmed me for 3 nights at Casa Cayena, $65 per night with breakfast and dinner included. Back to Santo Domingo my reservation was confirmed via their website for two nights in Hostal San Francisco de Asis, $45 per night. It is the first time they answered an email to me via their website. Last two nights I plan to be at Jaragua hotel, where it all began for me 17 years ago. It recently reopened and although the basic room rate has increased near 50% compared to the price a year ago I got a deal of $99.00 taxes included via Marriot Rewards.

For the large non guest friendly hotels I booked a room for two. My plan is to spend the first night with a 39 yr. Old medicine doctor who has the body of a top rated stripper. She loves to dress sexy at all times. I have two girls confirmed for Sosua, they live in Puerto Plata. One of them has only had girlfriends, never a boyfriend. Back to Santo Domingo I have a couple of girls in lineup: a lawyer that lives in LOS Millones and a visit to Casa Australia, Pink Lounge and Slip on me plus any other girl I can meet during my stay.

I'm headed to SDQ the 31st of May, I'm leaving on the early bus for a 3 pm flight, but let me know your intentions and if I can help.

I will be arriving SD on the 29th of May (Friday) leaving (Tuesday) the 2nd of June. In looking at the costs of taxi from Airport to downtown SD, then the long Bus ride, then another taxi on my return, looks like I will be renting a car, yeah it might be a pain to drive down there, hell I have driven in Manhatten a couple times, can't be much worst. Have you found a place to stay yet? My first trip there, not a big heavy hitter, however have been around Asia a few times and tired of the long flight!

Why "unfortunately"? Free flights? I wish I had that sort of bad luck.

As far as my return flight, it is at 6 PM, so I can hang out in Sousa till at least noon.

That sounds a bit optimistic, but you will know the airport procedures better than me.

It depend on if your going to stay in Sosua the hold time once you get there. To me driving in the Dr not that bad.

The buses are less then 10 dollars and are quite comfortable. Driving in the DR is not very care free, I will be in country and will use the buses between cities.

Thanks everybody for the advice, unfortunately I work for the airline and I will be flying in free to SD. This is why I will have to take the bus to Sousa, yes it.

Does suck, however this is just a test trip, mongered all over Asia, now time to try something closer to home. I land at 11 AM, so I am sure I can be on a bus by.

Caribe I believe by 2 PM which should get me to Sousa by about 6 PM, I will have a nap on the bus, so I will be ready to go Friday night!

As the bus ride from the station in Sousa to the Hotels?

The rate for the taxi to Santo Domingo is a fixed rate, I believe it is currently $30, but be sure to confirm the rate with the driver before you get in. I'm not sure about the rate from the Caribe station to Sosua hotels, but shouldn't be more than 300 pesos.

Save yourself some time and buy your tourist card online. When I arrived I was leaving the airport within 10 minutes of exiting the plane, and I had to wait on baggage claim.

I believe the Caribe bus takes over 5 hours to reach Sosua. Metro takes 4 1/2 hours and makes a lot less stops. If you leave Sosua at noon to make a 6 PM flight, there's a fair chance you will miss your flight. Sosua is mostly dead until early evening, so staying the few extra hours doesn't gain you anything.

Bring a jacket for the bus ride.
