I have been in Buda almost 4 years ago, so I can not consider myself a veteran here.

I am at the Le Meridien, and looking for some action. Do you have any advice? It would most appreciated.

First, I would stay away for ANY club on Vaci Utca. You cannot walk ten feet without getting propositioned for a scam. And make no mistake, they DO NOT want to have sex with you. They are interested in only one thing and that is luring you into a bar where they have a pre-arranged agreement with management to get you to buy them as many horrendously over-priced drinks as possible. I'm not sure how it was when you were there 4 years ago, but it certainly is now. However, there is one exception to this and that is female tourists. I did happen upon some drunk girls from the UK who were clearly looking for fun. Must have been a hen party of sorts. They were cute but very drunk so I bailed on that one in favor of an expensive pro that I had already arranged.

But if you are at the Meridien, I would suggest that you check out the underground club right across the street. It's easy to find if you know where to look. Right across the street from the Meridien there is a square called Erzsebet *** (Elizabeth Square) - go over and look for a set of stairs that resembles an entrance to a metro station. Go down and you will find a dance club that really gets going around midnight (maybe earlier). I didn't see any pros, but there were a lot of really cute amateurs looking to have fun a more than a few who spoke English. But you better bring your "A" game because the Hungarian girls don't seem to be categorically interested in foreigners. But it's a great club and worth a visit.

Aside from that, visit the excellent report in Report of Distinction. There is a list of about 4 or 5 strip clubs where you will not get ripped off and some even have on-site facilities if you are interested. And all have "take out" service. If you want to call up for someone to visit you, try http://budapestescorts.com/ or www.beszamolok.hu. If they list that they speak English then you are in good shape. Otherwise, good luck with you Hungarian. Didn't try myself but a friend who's there on an extended stay has had good luck with Beszamolok.

After another week in the countryside, I am going to be back in Budapest for three nights starting Saturday (February 28). Anyone around?

I am planning a business trip to Budapest. I plan to be there from February 9th - 20th. I have no idea what to expect so if anyone has any CURRENT helpful hints beyond what has been written on this board, I am all ears. From the looks of things I might need to import my own fun from Moscow.
