Was in Odessa Aug 2006...going to meet some friends next month in Kiev for two nights,then flying down to Odessa for 2 weeks.Has there been any changes in the nightlife scene down at the beach over the last two years,or is it still the same.

I was there last summer and it was exactly the same, only difference was I was stopped twice on separate nights by the local militia wanting to see my passport and immigration card. That had never happened to me before in Odessa. I plan to return in August of this year for some stimulation...

I'll be staying in The Rus Hotel in Kiev in July for 2nights before heading down to Odessa,and would be gratefull to anyone who has either stayed there OR has any info at all regarding the Hotel?

IE: Are there any working girls hanging around the Hotel bars? If so,is there a problem getting them back to the room? and so on..!

Any general info about the Hotel too,would be greatly appreciated..

Beware of tough security guys in Rus. If you bring a girl in, they take her to reception, take some gryvnas, she is supposed to leave her passport, etc. You may be lucky and there is just a short moment where they don't look. I had both happen, but stopped to stay. You may find chicks in the bar on 2nd floor, one time I caught 3 at a time, but it could be also empty. I simply stopped to stay there.

The President Hotel which is just uphill has a strip bar in the basement on Rus side. If you stayed there, there are always plenty of hookers in the lobby bar.

6th floor is renovated and has LAN, otherwise buy a Wifi card and sit in the lobby bar. Eat somewhere else!

Central location, you can walk down towards the center, and there are tons of good restaurants. I always like Bellevue t the beginning of Saksaganskogo st.

Sounds reasonable to me. BUT: Any problem with the security guys asking for $ when bringing in a girl ?

I have stay at this hotel more than two weeks and two time have i had a girl with me, no money asked.

Today is Easter, next weekend are holidays because of 1-May. Students will be at home, most likely, and the very well-off girls will be out of town as well I guess. Together with their sponsors heading to Crimea etc. :-)
So very top-class MIGHT be out of town.
But, both Dnjepr and Donezk are big cities, so there still should be left quite a few good girls.

On the other side, often such holidays are used by the not-so-regular-female-disco-goers to make an exception.
And they might be even easier to chase.

I want to go to Dnjepr, because I have to leave my flat in Nikolaev because of renovations and for me Dnjepr is closer than Donezk.

Hotel Dnipro.It is soviet but renovated and most importantly in good position close to center,you can reach it walking in 15 minutes.Low cost for room,about 250 grivnia.
