Was hoping that things would return to the old ways soon. May be not if the mask mandates are back. One other point. The US $ has appreciated considerably against the Euro. We may be better off spending our time in Europe rather than Dubai.

From what I've heard, the mask policy is being lightly enforced. I'm not sure you'll do much better in Europe if mask policy is your concern!

Iran is surprisingly, the second highest country for the number of transgender surgeries, and not surprising Thailand is first. According to wikipedia the government even subsidies the surgeries. Their clerics would rather have someone officially change gender through surgery rather than cross-dress or engage in same sex intercourse. That's a good point to bear in mind if like me you you're only interested in XX women. Truth be told, with so many women getting all sort of plastic surgery it becomes difficult to tell what's the real gender.

From what I can recall, if you would roam around or go to the washroom, they'd ask you to put on a mask. But once seated, no mask was needed, just like it was at the food courts. That being said, what will change now is that you'll have to wear a mask indoors (at malls, and other public closed spaces), which isn't really a big deal. I had noticed that people had become way too lax and in say Dubai mall, gradually I saw from 80% of people wearing masks to about 20% of them. That's what will change.

Plus, this is a low season for tourism anyways. I have had at least 4 girls message me and requesting for a meet up because there is no business at all in the spa or other places they frequent, so it's probably a good time to get a bargain when punting.

I saw that UAE had reintroduced the enforcement of mask wearing indoors and the use of the app again. I was wondering what impact this may have on the bars and clubs. When I was there last month the bouncer at Jules would sometimes force the guys entering to put on the mask though for some reason never did so with me. However there wasn't a mask on sight at Moscow. Anyway I just hope that all is good at the bars and that we are not stuck to having to wear a mask and sit at a table.
