I'm following these boards for a while now and I would have posted also if it weren't for the stupid restricted websites.

This is the first post of many to come, I want to be able to take advantage of the PM function as soon as possible and hopefully I will accomplish this with good posts.

Before I write my experiences in the UAE I would also like to address a few things that I wanted to answer many times but couldn't find a way to post until now. These are things of general interest, not necessarily related to UAE so please let me know where it would be better to post these:

- solution to restricted websites in the UAE, how to avoid them for ANY restricted website anywhere in the world (a bit technically advanced but good way anyhow)

- why some people are not restricted from viewing ISG on their mobile phones and what to do to become one of those people (this issue I have seen written a lot of times and the solution is quite simple)

- simple way to make an interactive map with the nice pick-up places. Best thing: being able to share it only with some people to prevent it from leaking to non-contributors.

Hello guys, this is my first post on the board.

I keep folowing these boards for some time but didn't post untill now, in my defence: it's not that I didn't want but because I couldn't (more on this later).

I really want to be able to send PM's in the quickest time but I want to do it with good posts. Hopefully you guys won't mind if I make the reports for girls in separate posts.

Asking for information if you do not have a certain track record is most likely going to be met with hostility, but here are some simple rules.

-One liners "Great report. Pass me her digits" will not work. Mostly because collecting information is not cheap, neither in time nor money. You should at least show a modicum of respect for people's efforts. Going out and checking 3-4 places takes several hours and can run into a few hundred dirhams even if you do not take a girl. Some people I know have been quite successful during many years. The ones who were not, you do not hear from them. It is called survivor bias.

-And finally we go to yesterday's example. A long post to, essentially, request what some people can do in one line. And hundreds of posts to give little more than some first posters. I take that as an attempt to bullshit me because I am not as smart as the poster. And I think that is the thinking "I will put so many words to make it look like I am an amazing guy and then ask what I want". It obviously did not work. It seldom does.

Are first posters doomed? Not at all. But asking what has been detailed several times is kind of pointless and will elicit a hostile reaction. And posting that you could not find anything of interest is also relevant. Even asking people to meet you if you are uncomfortable. It is about how you ask.

In my experience I have noted its mostly the reference to the sorry excuse of an information forum as found in the Indian board that seems to bring out some strong personal hurt feelings.
