• 1. Socks with sandals? What's the point of sandals THEN?
• 2. I've been wearing sandals to Seaview for the last 3+ years - never a problem before.
• 3. The "why" is that they are COMFORTABLE, Seaview was the sole destination, and it's not exactly a "style" bar.

Given that there have been fights/near fights of late, as I said, I think it's a convenient way to exclude "L&R's" (locals and regionals). Given that I had debated in going there at all, no big deal. They just lost points by giving me a red card, rather than a yellow.

Myself, I don't have a foot fetish... I couldn't tell you anything about another male's shoes...

I managed to get into a trendy dress-code nightclub a few months ago wearing sandals. (Trilogy from memory). Last week the policy change was no black girls. This was changed within a few days to no black girls unless accompanied by a fella.

Friday afternoon, had sms'd Miss Friday, asking if she wanted music at Seaview or TV at home. Myself, I was evenly split. Next month is Ramadan and it's a LONG month waiting for the band to return. But had been up at Seaview Thursday night myself, not really for the music, just catching the first set's last few songs while grabbing a bite to eat and looking around for something tasty to sate a different hunger. Thursday, several MIA faces back, tempting, but not enough to breach the go threshold THAT night. Decided on a new face, philipina. I asked if this was a NEW policy. "No sandals allowed." Credit where credit is due - when I hit the same tripwire at Imperial a couple of months ago, I was let in with a warning, "Next time...". But Friday night, Seaview's door was blocked. (Thursday night, had worn hard shoes, but only because I thought I might have to hit another bar, say York, for company).

Think Miss F's TRUE preference came out when she said, with a lilt in her voice, "Your feet decided; home it is."

So be forewarned: wearing sandals not recommended for any bar these days (which is really stupid, given it's the middle of summer, it's 90 F AT NIGHT, and who wants to wear shoes?)

Note: sport shoes OK; it's just sandals that are a no-go (think convenient way to keep out locals).
