Side note: Thanks to all that have put so much into this forum. I go to a new city armed with the collective knowledge gleaned from you all. I have a plan, but I know to be flexible and to go with the flow when things present themselves. I am really looking forward to checking out the Dubai venues.

I do agree about the free rider problem, I also selectively share the contacts I find back in my home country and other countries I have travelled to.
Clearly Dubai is growing and has grown as a country due to the contributions of citizens of many nations and given the plethora of options available to chill with I didn't know where to start so hence the earlier posts for help.
Have got Cyber Ghost VPN for laptop and phone.
Plan to use the Numero app and opt for an alternative local number without a SIM. (Is this advisable?).
Thanks for the tips on meeting. I definitely do aim to contribute to the forum as I have two trips more lined up to DXB this year and would want to make the most of them by contributing and earning trust of the members.
Once again thanks.
Peace.

Till you started talking about economy of Indian immigrants. Buddy. Chill. No body is working for free in uae, Indians aren't doing uae a favor to build its economy, they aare gaining for it also. Everyone is replaceable here. Thats a fact. If not Indian it would be another cheap labour. So please don't insert politics here.
So please lets stop arguing and discussing stupid shit, thanks.

This is not out of malevolence but it's an attempt to keep the forum clean. Anyone can post, some will ignore as you suggest, but some will react. And just as you suggest, if you don't like their post, just ignore them too. This is not intended to bully but this strategy works to keep free riders at bay. Believe me most of us countless times helped guys begging for intel and promising that they will contribute once done. Most of people may seem unforgiving, but if you prove yourself a contributor you'll receive help beyond what you could imagine. That being said you are right, there should be a section with advice on the forum etiquette, dos and don'ts etc.
Last, if I am not sure about what you're looking for but the beset would be to visit bars or Mr, however I can share a few of pieces of advice to avoid you troubles:
1- Stay bellow the radar P4P and out of wedlock sex is strictly forbidden:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...sex-Dubai.html
2- Don't fall for switch and bait schemes, it does happen.
3- There are even gangs (mostly African) that try to lure you pretending you're going to meet a hot Norwegian and you find yourself robbed of all your valuables. Exert caution and use your common sense:
https://www.khaleejtimes.com/news/cr...him-of-dh60000
4- Access to MR and ISG and even to some VPN providers is restricted, so you may want to set up one in your home country (There's a section about VPNs).
Stay safe and looking forward to your contribution.

And if you're not interested to help simply ignore the post don't push yourself or pile into conversations you don't want to be part of.
Spongers? Another insulting term towards Indians. Mind you Indians contribute to the largest population in the UAE at nearly 3. 5 million immigrants. The reason why the oil rigs work, restaurants have waiting staff, maids, helpers, chauffeurs and so on. I'm sure you don't need an economics lecture now. Learn to respect the culture and stop generalizing.

I no longer am interested in talking further with you.

Typically I'm against most forms of generalization, but I'm Indian and I still agree with Jack, our kind has too many managers and expect one way traffic, just look at the state of the Indian forums LOL.
