besides that.....in vn buying real estate is not so easy as ..lets say in the us or western-europe. i can imagine chavez will build in much administrative hurdles for any forreigner to buy real estate. also take into account the hassle you will get with local authorities...notary....and maybe even the electricity/phone companies. i remember even in the dr it was not possible to get your electricity bill on your own name....for that i used my (ex) novia..!
in such countries nothing is easy if you are a gringo....:-(

venezuela has the power of oil....and lots of it too! only thing thats worry me is that much middle-upper class peeps wanna get out.
with them also intellect and enterpreneurship and human capital disapears from the country.
in about 5 years vn will be a 100 % cuba cloon.....but with way more corruption and way more violence:-(

If I was to buy in Venezuela, I would wait for Chavez to run the economy so hard into the ground that people would pay you to take their land... then start snatching up good property at fire sale prices... then wait. It's a pretty big gamble, but the upside is worth dozens of millions for the brave few who have the balls to invest in a downtrodden country.

But I totally understand Johan... buying property now while Venezuela is moving *toward* a hardcore socialist dicatorship is crazy-dangerous.

I agree, Venezuela is in deep trouble, chavez is ruining it, but the girls are still hot, many little hotties, but I see no other reason to enter the city of Caracas. I would not enter the country, too bad, such a exotic place, ruined by one man.

besides the things you mention KOS...savety more and more will become an issue in Venezuela. Last week a Dutch women and her daughter were reported missing on isla Margarita......and they were NO turists as they lived on the Island for over 10 years!! Up till now they is still missing....:-(

Caracas allready is a very violent city.....and certainly NO place for newbies to monger. You could end up dead,kidnapped or other wised get harmed in a very nasty way.

OO and the women....yes sure they are fine...and very pretty....then again I think they is very arrogant women. realy a turn off for my personaly. BAd attitude...VERY BAD.....! My God they realy think they sh*t gold.....LOL

In SA there are way more secure and cheaper places to be mongered....and with a bit of luck also have nice girls.

Oh, it always amazes me that guys have never been to a particular country, but they seem to to think they know the country. Me on the other hand, I have been to all countries and cities that I have threads in, except Brazil/Argentina, but they are on the list. The taxis are expensive, the food is expensive, the hotels are expensive, the gas is cheap/but taxis expensive, I do not understand it at all. I think Venezuela has some of the hottest chicks in the world, but the city is not planned like I like, small streets, way too much traffic, and hot like Cartagena.

Other countries are much better, imho.

When Chavez really screws up Venezuela, buy the real estate in Caracas, it is the best time to buy when the country is in turmoil.

Chavez is going to kick all the corporations out of Venezuela, then raise his profits for himself when he has full control. Wait until the bolivar collapses, then buy, the country will come back.

I was about to return to Venezuela for 10 days, but instead went to SXM. Sorry chavez, you rig the currency market, have high taxi prices, and the women here are expensive, so I decided to go to SXM. Also, better mongering places elswhere, Caracas is just not worth it.

The gasoline is. 25 cents, but the taxis are way more expensive than colombia, does not make sense. I also do not like the currency rip off, complete bulllshit. Stay away from Venezuela, just not worth rip off and aggravation, and the girls are dificult here to fuck two times in one hour, rip off city. They try to charge you 50, 000 bolivares extra for a blow job with condom next to eurobuilding. Give me a break, better places to go elswhere.
