Posts: 213Hi KOS! Thanks for all your informative posts! I been to Colombia 3 times, brazil, Panana, Mexico and Cuba. My spanish isn't the best but I can get by order food and having small talk.
I am planning to take a trip to Venezuela in end of October / early November, ticket haven't been book yet but I will be coming with with a latino friend who speaks fluent spanish.
When it comes to women, I have a discerning taste.
I wanted to know if you have any connection with model material escorts (miss universe beauty, Playboy, Maxim caliber types). I don't know what kind of work you do, would you be interested when we arrive, can show us around, kinda like a tour guide and get us into hot night clubs or introducing us to the high caliber women and we will compensate you. If so, please respond back to me via pm with your email address so we can further discuss this. I need to make plans asap. Thank you.

For punani I strongly advice you to work sexycaracas dot com. Either call the girls in or go to massage establishments that gets good reviews in the forum. Calling in the girls is a numbers game since many will just hang up on you when you speak English.
Clubbing in for example San Ignacio can be fun, but it is a long ride back home in the middle of the night, so I would never do that. Better to stay up in La Guaira and do yo monkey business there, or to get a room in for example Altamira if you want to go clubbing.
A good way to meet girls is to search the social sites for girls in the area you will stay in. Facebook, Tagged, etc. Just work them and find a couple of sweet hears that you can meet over a dinner.
Have fun!

KOS,
Heading for CCS early May for some fishing. I will leaving daily from Puerto de La Guaira so I will need to stay down there in Macuto or Caraballeda. Any tips for these areas? I was hoping for a run into CCS a couple of nights, but not sure I'd make the run solo after reading your input. If I find a couple partners in crime I would still like to though.
My spanish sucks, but I'm well seasoned overseas. This will be country 36 and I plan on hopping up to Columbia after the fishing for 37.
Thanks for any info,
MW

Yes, I am still posting here. Just been busy. I left Caracas awhile ago, it was a blast, many hot girls. I lived in La Castellana, the safest barrio in Caracas, very close to McDonalds on the circle. I loved the Metro, cheap, and just as fun as riding the subway in New York, very cool.
I would recommend staying anywhere in Chacao only, much police presence. The embassy is useless, they will not help you with anything, and they are only available to citizens for like three days until 1130 am, what a waste and joke.
The girls, although cheaper girls can be found in Sabana grande, don't do it, stay around Los Mercedes, Centro Commerical Sambil, and Castellana / cc ignacio. La Campina is ok, they never bothered me in that area because PDVSA is headquartered there and they assumed I was associated with oil in some way, as a foreigner.
Caracas is cool, just have to be very street smart, not for beginners. I once ran into this dude at McDonalds, a Brit who could not speak spanish, the local people were pissed, I had to help him out ordering. In another words, you are not going to get girls without Spanish, forget about it.
Cuerp mente and alma is correct, many dark skinned girls, but they give the better service.
There are many day time places and night time places, but by the time I got done with the day time places, I was tired for the girlfiend at night.
Oh yeah, many centro commercial have ho houses, usually up backside elevators that are discrete. In my opinion, Caracas blows Miami away, let alone any South or Central America City, but Chavez is trying to destroy the country.
Caracas rocks, but is very difficult to navigate without connections, black market dollar, places to stay, girls etc.
Oh yeah, one time I was walking on Avenida Urdaneta, by the family courthouse downtown, what a sheethole, but I swear, the people looked like they wanted to kill me. No taxi stands. I had to catch a taxi off the street with the help of a cop, not safe. Cannot even trust the cops. Any questions, post them on this thread.
Take care,
KOS

KOS,
I am trying to plan a trip to Caracas, and I know you say to avoid, but I have made up my mind to give it a go. Before I go off on a tangent asking questions, I want to know if you still visit this thread.

KOS, are the women in Venezuela generally more lighter skinned?
I am not racist and I have been to Dominican Republic, CTG and BAQ and although I don't mind morenas I generally have a preference for lighter toned women.

Read my reports, I list places for P4P there. The casa across the street from centro commercial sambil is good. 2nd floor, forget the name. Another casa is in La Campina by the PDVSA, the big oil headquarters off the autopista. Many hot chicks there, it is the in the penthouse, forget he name. Also Piccolo is close to centro commercial TOLON, expensive, but some of the same girls from the old GEISHAS. Stay away from Sabana Grande, too dangerous. I do not recommend Caracas or Venezuela, you will be the only american there, no one is going to help you if there is a problem, not even the embassy.
Good luck

Posts: 540I was in Maracaibo a few weeks ago and found the place all in all very cool. Quite safe. The upper class people, are very rich (of course) and the women are easily the hottest I have ever seen anywhere, However they do not seem to care that you are a Gringo. However the lower class people or the working people seemed very nice, and helpfull. The hotel Aladin is a mongers heaven. As far as clubs, massage parlors et. There are only a couple which would be considered middle / high class. Most of the girls there were attractive but nothing like the local rich non pros. The prices in the Clubs are also not great. For such a poor country you really don't get much of a discount. I heard in the poorer areas of the city you can go to the casas, or clubs et and it is much cheaper but I really didn't want to risk it.
To me Maracaibo is a place I definately would go back to.

Posts: 307The Revolution Will Not Be Televised
Good to see you reporting in. Thanks for the update. Glad you survived the assassination attempt.
There is a good reason why the majority of Venezuelans hate us. In fact, at this time, we are not the most popular on earth. May I suggest viewing the 2003 film documentary "La revolucióand no será transmitida."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Id--ZFtjR5c
The film is directed by two Irish, Kim Bartley and Donnacha Ó Briain, and is available with English subtitles. It has won over a dozen international tv and film awards. Cheers!

Ok, if you do not change bolivares at the 8. 5 to 1 rate, and rely on your debit card / credit card, Caracas will be more expensive than New York City, that is ridiculous. Inflation is running at 33 percent, chavez is destroying the country, and everybody is trying to get out, I mean everybody. You cannot wire transfer money out of the country, and need permission from CADIVI if you want to transfer money in Venezuela. You must bring dollars, NOT EUROS, because they use the dollars to re sell and or the corproations buy the dollars to pay the american companies in dollars. The best place to find a black dollar changer is at the airport. You need to develop a friendship with him, get his number, and call him to change with you all the time, because to change dollars on the street you will get killed. They will change with you, then rob you, I never did this, but be careful. You can get more than 8. 5 to 1, but I was safe, I knew my money changer for 10 years, but even he tried to screw me on the rate at first. You can get 9-10 per dollar, but I was not willing to go to the casino in Los mercdes, got to be careful in this city, the police are not going to help you.
Stay in Chacao norte, as close as possible to San ignacio, castellana, altamira, the police are all over the place and they will help you if a problem. Motorcycles with 2 guys are alll over the city and do rob people of their blackberrys / iphones / cell phones constantly, no part of the city is safe. Do not take taxis from the street, only from the malls. I never had a problem with any of the taxis. Even in La Campina they have taxi stands. If you do take taxis off the street, especially at night. 50 percent are just looking to rob. Its better to pay the extra 10 bolivares and be safe, nto worth the risk.
Chavez, he is destroying the country and does not care. It is almost impossible to rent a apartment, because the owners are too scared that people will live in the apartnment and not pay rent. Their are no laws for the eviction process, so no one wants to rent their apartment. I never saw one american the many months I was there. Two guys from London, but thats it. There are no americans, so you will stand out unless you look latino.
Caracas is only for experienced mongers with spanish, you will have to fight for your change at restaurants, the people are serious desperate for money, inlfation is high, and the people cannot afford to live and eat. Its a tough city for the locals.
I will not go back to Caracas, the girls are hot and tall, but its just not worth it, not american friendly, and in general is dangerous. They do not have short term apartments for rent, it is not very easy city to survive, you need to bring cash, too difficult for newbies. Even though I have contacts for black dollar, it would be difficult without a known contact. You cannot just go there and trust a money changer at the airport, because there are false dollars.
The alchohol and girls are good, I like Solera, the local beer in blue bottle, the girls are also sexy, but more wordly and educated than colombianas. The colombianas are just money hungry hoes, the venezolanas are cool girls who will hang out, and not just try to get your money. Venezolanas are better looking than colombianas, better class of girls, just a whole different level of girl. After dealing with Venezolanas, I would never waste my time with colombianas.
Any questions, please post them on this thread, No private messages.

first, just wanted to say thanks to aragorn for his help, a good guy with good information. caracas, wow, what a city.
ok so i left caracas 2 weeks ago, and i can tell you, there are hot chicks, but you need to change the dollar for the black market rate. 8.5 to 1, and speak spanish to survive. i left the city for good, beccause it is a dangerous city and the people generally are not american friendly, unless they are stealing your money. caracas is a cool city if you stick to altamira / los mercedes, la castellana and los palos grandes. all four areas are the best to hang out to find locals. i lived in la castellana, close to mcdonald's in plaza castelllana. the best area in caracas for safety reasons of course. anyways, the girls are sexy, i would say the best value for the bolivares is right across the street from centro commercial sambil. take the emergency exit going up to the second floor, forget the elevators. there are also many other good day places. 2 in los mercedes. 1 in chuao. 2 by the petroleum off the expressway, and others rep001tered by around the city. do not go to sabana grande, too dangerous. also, check sexycaracas. com for the girls, the hots ones are hard to get a committment to stop by since they are getting called so much.
the metro is safe, it is a subway that runs from east to west, with a connection possible by the universidad central de venezuela. avila is a cable car that takes you from a highway location to high level up the mountain, its cool, you can see the ocean from the top, there is also a hotel, restaurants, the best spot for tourism.
caracas, a great city, but dangerous. they poisoned my food at centro commercial recreo, so be careful. sambil, ignacio, tolon and cctv are the best malls. los naranjos is cool but far, centro commercial lider is also good. there are other malls, but not worthy of talking about.

Posts: 741Venezuela is going down hard, chavez is destroying the country and the locals are helpless. I do not recommend Venezuela except for the most expert mongers. I would say Colombia is better, maybe even Brazil. Not sure, but Venezuela is not that great, for the price, except if you get the black market rate.
