I have spent my 2 trips this year to MDE at night mostly in the strip clubs and out to dinners and hanging out and drinking at Parque Boston, have not done any dance clubs yet, but Trip Advisor does have a section for that:

Have been to Tashkent too.

But Bishkek beats it hands down.

There is an area in Bello that goes crazy on Saturday nights and lot of hot women. I also went on a couple Fridays, but it was not as busy. Thursday was dead. But it depends on the weather. The area felt safe and the people were very friendly. Oddly there is one bar there with waht it seems like free-lance lady boys. I never seen such a thing in Colombia before. It really isn't worth going unless you go on a Friday or Saturday night after 10 - 11 PM. If it rains than I wouldn't go. The area is called Barrio Obrero. Taxi from El Poblado to there is about 15 K - 18 K pesos. There are also some bars near the main park in Bello, but I would avoid that area at night unless you got a couple buddies and at least one person speaks good Spanish. The area in Bello called Barrios Obrero seems quite safe. It is wild, but safe.

According to the text in the Utube vid and confirmed on Google street view it is Carrera and Calle 33 in Bello.

There are 2 main areas with several discos that I know of. The first is Parque Lleras, which is where Gusto is located. Several other discos, bars and restaurants are all in the area.

The other is Carrera 70. From the Estadio Metro station walk south on Carrera 70. The street is lined with discos, bars, hotels and restaurants for many blocks. Restaurants range from street vendors, to hole in wall cheap eats, to high end restaurants. El Apache does a very good steak. Bars are from a couple of cheap tables on the sidewalk to large discos. Hotels in the area are inexpensive and from what I've seen look well cared for.

It's a forum but you been like a bro in helping out me and this encourages me to pop up one more question:

If I want to sample disco life, where beautiful and bold come, and not a few hookers either, somewhat like Gusto as I gather from this forum, where you could slide and grind, which one would you recommend.

Yes, the downtown Centro area has at least 3 good strip clubs within 3 blocks and about a dozen Casa's in a 10 block range.

Downtown strip clubs: Conejitas, Barre Ejecutiva & Maracaibo, they have few other low rent ones also.

The Hi-end strip clubs are elsewhere:

El Poblado is the safest part of the city. It's also the most expensive and has fewer mongering options.

El Centro is where most of the action is. It's much cheaper and has lots of mongering options. It's also not the best area to be wandering around at night.

The more Spanish you know, the easier everything will be. English speakers are rare, even in Poblado. I've also noticed, the more I speak Spanish, the more likely I am to get replies in broken English.

The Mansion is a no fail option. You're a short walk from plenty of good restaurants (and a short taxi ride back. The hills are tough). You have women right there along with seasoned Medellin vets. Spanish won't be required.

If you find communication difficulties frustrating, stay at the Mansion. If you don't mind the challenge, stay in Poblado, but make certain the location is chica friendly. If you don't mind the cost, you can find freelancers around Parque Lleras. If you want safety and luxury, but want strip clubs and casas, stay in Poblado and taxi to Centro. If you want cheap lodging and easy access to strip clubs and casas, stay in Centro.

The Mansion might be best for a non Spanish speaking person.

El Poblado is a good area to stay in, but it is a bus, taxi or metro ride to Centro.

To get your bearings on the layout of the city, I suggest taking the Turibus Tour. It starts at the Parque Poblado at 9 am and 1 pm. It last around three hours. Tel: 371 50 54. www.turibuscolombia.com
