Any suggestions on which Cuban cigars are worth buying in Juarez?

How much should I expect to pay? I don't want to get ripped off.

Question for those who know. Is it cool to park in the $3 24-hr places by the bridge for 24+ hours? I've spent the night at the Villa M twice but drove across and parked there. After reading of vehicles stolen from there and the fact that customs spent over a half an hour taking my truck apart last time while I sweated, wondering if they, or anyone else for that matter, planted something, I'd rather not.

I usually park by the Santa Fe bridge in the lot just on the north side of the "cross-over park" that goes to the toll both. I've never had a problem of any serious nature and a few times I've come back the next morning (unplanned). I've seen a car (Miata ragtop) that was there for a few days or more - collecting dust in the same spot without any "changes" or anchors chained to it. Tho' that driver may have planned in advance as I see a few anchors from time to time. Sometimes when I come back at 3AMish the attendant will be sleeping.

I've read that the lot by the tracks is very attentive but have never tried them. Too far a walk for me...

I've read here that the Convention Center parking allows overnite.

I've also read that the VMP has 24 hour eyes at the booth of the gated parking across the street behind Sirena's.

EDIT: Ooops! I just re-read your post and the one I first mentioned charges by hourly blocks - 6 or 8 hour type charges - but does allow the overnites.

Hate upselling, when you decline kinda makes you wonder if she will put forth a good effort, and if you accept, it's usually lackluster at best. Very few MP girls have any decent oral skills. Encanto used to be a great place, with the upselling, it now sucks.

Checked out Cleo's then Sirena. Selection at both places sucked so went to El Encanto. Selection there sucked as well but by then, I was tired so I picked the best of the lot.

I usually just pay $3 or $4 and park at one of the lots next to Santa Fe Bridge.

I do notice that there are a bunch of parking meters near the border. How safe is street parking? I would usually need to park late afternoon/early evening.

Is it worth it just to shell out the $4?

Having had many occasions to visit a good number of the massage parlors in Juarez, and also lived in Thailand for the better part of a year (and still here), my opinion is that there is absolutely no comparison.

Thai women, either girlfriends or rentals, have it way over Mexican women. Now I realize that I prefer slim attractive women that give service with a smile and have high levels of personal hygine, and I'm not a fan of fat bums, but I have NEVER had the level of service in Juarez that I have had in any place in Thailand, and I've traveled in Thailand quite a bit.

When I'm in the states I occasionally to to Juarz, but I'm usually disappointed.

One must wonder why, if you still live in Thailand (I assume BKK) and are such an afficionado for the "fruit of the vine" there, once again why, you are cruising the Juarez board if you prefer the SE asian poon so much. What is the old saying? "Me thinks he doth protest too much!"

Having formerly lived in Juarez for a number of years and having married one of their finest (formerly of Club Panama) (don't ask me who guys, you won't know her unless you have been hanging in CJ more than 7 yrs), and having spent my obligatory R & R time in BKK when serving our Uncle Sam, I must say I think you are quite mistaken. Besides,I had more of my friends contract social diseases that were FAR more resistant to medication than I ever saw in CJ.

Man, I can't drive to Thailand in 3 hours time. And the last "big butt" I had at a Juazoo MP was so damn hot she about busted my balls. Take your boatloads of cash and fly to Thai.

Got back down and totally, thoroughly enjoyed Geovanna once again at Europeos on Thursday. She is so comfortable with me now she even let me make her come, which she admits to me that she rarely lets her clients do. I have seen photos of beautiful Thai women for a reasonable price, but I'll take my hard earned cash and give a gorgeous woman a $25 tip (yes, $25, and she was worth at least $50) after mind-blowing sex, go grab a thick, juicy ribeye at Herradura, a beer and a brandy next door at Papagallos, contemplate a trip upstairs, but realize I've just had the most incredible fuck and I'm still walking 3 feet off the Avenida, and more might not be the best thing afterall, catch the bus, walk the bridge, humor the govt, and leave the border region having spent less than a hundred bucks for one of the best afternoon / evenings of my life. Give me the Cd. everytime. Everyday I can afford to get down there. It is truly paradise. Oh, I guess we'll do half ass with these large-ass muchachas just fine, thank you very much!

Thought about betting some money at the Sportbook place in Juarez.

How is the atmosphere inside? Do they serve alcohol? Is it a decent place to watch the games?

The book right off of the Santa Fe bridge - the Juarez Turfclub - has the appearance of a "grungy old joint". It has a bar, a food counter, and a small wall of TVs. They pull their numbers from Vegas. As a Vegas resident, I can tell you that the numbers they pull are very close. A bit conservative but they can be that way in a few books in Vegas as well.

The TV area has your typical rows of "pencil benches" that you would find in a book and a couple of "conference" type tables in front of a TV or two. It's not a very big place.

I've never had any problems there as many writers speak excellent English and are more than helpful. The Parlay cards have decent payouts as well.

One thing to note is that the government takes their cut at the time of payout on any size winning. It's a very small cut but on my first ticket it caught my eye.

I've talked to a few book locals in there who have told me that the books on the other side of town are better in payouts & comfort. The plus for me with the Turf Club is location - a quick walk over the bridge.

The Thai women are far superior in looks, service and attitude. No big butts either.
Period.

Here's a couple of places that I checked out this week.

1. Picasso's Bar, it's behind La Capilla de San Lorenzo. Basically, take Triunfo De La Republica until it starts to turn to the right, then take a very hard left at the giant sphere on stilts like you're going to Autotel La Siesta. Then keep going straight and as soon as you pass the San Lorenzo church (you can't miss it, it takes up a whole city block) take the U turn on the left directly into the small strip mall. Nice place, very hot girls. Unfortunately, like the M bar, it's eye-candy only.

2. Mangos. Same as Picasso's, I think it's the same owner. The girls there are hot, but they're only there to serve you drinks. It's on Av. De La Raza & Montes de Oca, right where La Raza and Insurgentes split. Again, a good place to start a night with beers and eye-candy.

3. El Horizonte. Place is packed with ok girls about the 5-6 range, but there is one HOTTIE named Pamela. Beers are cheap and the place is more of a locals bar. Pamela will leave with you for $120 total (100 for her, 20 for salida). Pricey, but I'll bet you can talk her down, and she is pretty damn good looking.

4. Dia Y Noche. Downtown, and not the best bar, but there are a few good looking girls there who don't charge more than standard downtown girls do. A nice alternative to Queens and the other places.


Also, to answer the sportsbook question, that place is kind of a dump. Yes, they serve drinks, but they also don't keep the same odds as say Vegas. You will get better lines say at the Sportsbook in the Pronaf area. Also the place is 100 times nicer. Still, if you're going to be downtown anyway, you might as well. I place bets there all the time, but I wouldn't really hang out there.

Hell, for US $10k I can fly first class to Thailand and have enough pucha to KILL me. 8-)

And as for the other WAAAAY overpriced "excursions" - just remember - sure, it takes a bit of time to get there - and the language is a bit difficult (no worse than Chinese), but the benefits are WORTH IT. I'd rather go without than deal with US/Mexican pu-ying (that's "women" in Thai)
