Hey CA Traveler,

Were do you usualy stay in Mscow when you go visit? I was looking at the prices of the US hotels and they are artonomical. You can get a 42nd St Hilton for about 200ish but man Moscow is expensive. Almost as expensive as Bucharest. Are these hotels made out of gold?

Getting ready for the trip and noticed the mentions of being sure to carry your passport for the local militia. From experience, the best thing to do is to make a xerox copy of the photo and information page of your passport as well as your visa page. This will suffice for the police if all they want is your documents. This tip works in most countries and keeps your most valuable document away from the hands of pickpockets and thugs.

knight... perhaps I should explain. The Exile is a free publication published every other week in Moscow. It rates clubs in several categories, including the "fahkie" factor to demonstrate how likely you are to get laid at each club.

Thanks for the Lena review. She was a nice girl to talk to, but I never took her home. In fact while I love chatting to the girls in NF, swapping phone numbers and email address etc, I have never "lifted" one. But I certainly do get the impression that they would be mechanical. I was wondering if she would be any different, but tragically, it seems all the NF girls are spoilt, and she is no exception.

rm/doc... yep, name was Lena. Definitely the same girl! Was it worth the extra ben? Not in this lifetime... in fact, it wasn't even worth a single ben! After the deal was closed it became a "receipe" for her and she was VERY robotic. If she'd been a tochka girl, I would have returned her for a replacement. Very disappointing. On the other hand, the friend with me, hooked up with a blonde beauty and he had a great experience. Just goes to show...

strav... thanks for the lesson. One thing that I've never had a problem with is differentiating dollars from rublie at the lineup! OTOH, if you know a tochka where that is the case, please let me know ASAP!

Yipes! I love kissing in the metro and especially in metro stations, they can be really romantic. One of my favorite romantic tricks is to be kissing my girl of choice while sitting on a bench waiting for the train. The train comes and she tries to get up and I don't allow her, saying that I have too much passion for her and ignore the train. The girls love it. And since the next train is only a couple of minutes away, this 3 minutes of extra wait can pay off big time later if you get your girl in the mood.

Funny about the metro rules though, seems like every male over 15 has a can or, even better, a plastic bottle of beer with him. Was wondering about the legality of that. Seems to kind of go against the normal rules of public transportation...

And I've also had older women cough or hiss while I was kissing a girl in the metro... like the liberal wild world of young dyevs colliding with aging Russian or even communist traditions of relative public chastity.

Do you think the mayor is behind this? Will someday prostitution fall by the wayside in Moscow as it becomes a "respectable" city?

God I hope not!

Moscow moots metro kissing ban -

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Couples caught kissing on Moscow's underground rail system could be fined under new regulations being considered by city authorities while those going too far could face jail, a newspaper's website says.

The kissing ban could even extend to a husband embracing his wife, Stolichnaya Vechernyaya Gazeta said on its website. The newspaper, quoting unnamed sources, said the city authorities were thinking of introducing the ban to raise levels of public morality.

"From the New Year citizens kissing and embracing publicly will be fined," it said. "Particularly blatant cases could even lead to a spell of temporary detention in jail," it added.

It quoted a city education official, Tatyana Maksimova, as saying metro travellers were indulging in increasingly lax behaviour including drinking alcohol from bottles and cans. "Our children are getting love lessons all day long from what they see around them," Maksimova said.

Moscow police would not comment on the report.

yes everything depends of intonation and atmosphere. Of course "Pisda" (pussy) is rude. But you can use "Pipis'ka" or "devochka". Or: "Dyrochka" (Little Hole).
"Sis'ki" (tits) -very good and tender.
Remember that Russians use diminitive sufficses to change the meaning of words. "Popka" -also "Popochka" - like "little ass" is very nice and warm.
Your recipe is very correct to create an atmosphere and gert GFE situation. It is very often easy with russian girls. They are warm and friendly in most cases (not always of course)

Phonetic translations of Cyrillic are always fascinating. Of course, it's impossible to translate literally from Cyrillic, since there are sounds that don't exist in the Roman alphabet.

The "H" in Russian is basically an English "H", but it is more gutteral. It comes from further down in the throat, kind of like you're coughing up something, but not quite that extreme. So, "I want" is more like ha-CHOO, than chochu, or khachu.

One of the most important words a monger will need is "sKOIL-ka", which means "how much". And you should, of course, verify the currency involved by asking "po dohllar-ov", in dollars? Or "po roob-lyea", in rubles? And, of course, you will want to take your dyevooshka back to the "gos-TEEN-itsa", hotel. The accusative would be "gos-TEEN-itsoo". "Let's go back to the hotel," would be "pai-DYOHM gos-TEEN-itsoo".

Instead of praising her body parts individually, you might want to tell her "ti kra-SAV-eetsa", which is kind of like the epitome of feminine pulchritude. If she really likes the way you look, she might call you a "kra-SAV-chik", the male version. Or she might just be making fun of you.

And of course, you should be able to count:
