Sheraton has local girls and security. I was there last summer. They charge girls to hang out in bar so they block other girls from coming in.

I have short question. It looks so that i don't stay in the Marriott Traverskaja. The Secretray had book the Sheraton Hotel also on the Traverskaja. Are there the same rools for taking girls to the Room as in the Marriott?

Concerning Samara, I walked around in the dark by myself, speak only poor Russian, and ended up being escorted back to my hotel room by a 20 yr old blonde Russian girl, who only wanted 200 rubles for taxi fare in the AM.

You said there are many places in Russia which would offer what Samara has with less risk. To me Samara seemed alright as it is a relatively large city, but apparently it is not. Can you recommend some safer but provincial cities in Russia apppropriate for our hobby?

Hiring a driver is a good idea. The question is how am I gonna find a dependable driver? A driver might get tempted to take advantage of a lonely foreigner...

Any comments?

I booked a single at Hansa ... in fact, it was the last and only room they had that night. There were zero problems (in part, thanks to my Russian escort) with bringing the girls to my room. I have no idea if they are normally so acomodating or if the ID of my escort made them so. I really do not expect you to run into too much trouble with this anyways. Worse case -- slip a $20 to the doorman and you will be fine.
Iceberg is not too far, but I really encourage you to rent a car for ALL of your late night outings. A lonely foreigner in the middle of Samara at night is a bit too tempting. In fact, if you are going to Samara alone and you have no friends there and you don't speak Russian vry well, I would discourage you from going there. There are a million other places that have what Samara has, maybe on a smaller scale, but still pretty safe. If you are going there with a Russian-speakign friend or even with somebody else, you will be ok, but going there alone may be a bit too risky.
If you are alone out there in Iceberg, trying to pick up a girl, you may get into some trouble. Russians respect force, so here is the etiquette: bring a friend or five; approach ONLY girls who are alone; politely ask them if they would join you at your table; buy them a drink (they are ludicrously cheap in Samara); ask them if they would be so kind as to show you around the city; ask them out for lunch tomorrow; ask them to go up to your room TONIGHT. This is exactly what I did and it worked like a charm. But there is a caveat in my case -- I am 6'1", 220 and I have a "don't fu*k with me" sticker on my forehead; I was with 3 large Russian guys, one of whom is a known police official; we were very well-behaved. Oh, and we speak fluent Russian of course, so we were able to resolve a couple of potential problems by just talking (e.g. when we were leaving with some girls, a group of drunk guys who were loitering outside the club approached us and asked us where were we taking the girls. We said that we running them home and offered to give the guys a ride as well, knowing full well that they would never go with us ... they laughed and left us alone). The best combination in Russia -- speak softly, but carry a huge-@ss stick in plain sight. Be polite, but let them know that you and your friends can and will unleash hell on them if they cross a certain line, which you should clearly draw in the sand. But do NOT challenge them by your words and/or demeanor -- there is nothing braver a drunken Russian guy. Sorry for spending so much time on extraneous issues, but your safety is the only concern I have -- getting laid in Samara and/or just haing a good time is as natural as breathing. Please do NOT take any unnessesary chances.

"Introductions" in Moscow Times?

I just came back from Moscow. I travel with coworkers, so I can't visit one of the night spots for ladies because we all stay in the same hotel. I used to visit the incall at the Orlyonok (sp) hotel/casino -- same place as the 911 club. Apparently, it is closed, because I went there and they weren't on the 18th floor as they used to be.

In the Moscow Times, I saw all sorts of ads for "introductions." I assume that these are the arparment operations. Has anyone had experience with the "introductions" services? I'd be interested in rates, quality, safety, etc, and the protocol for visiting these establishments.

I am aware of them and bu I am not sure if they are dependable, because another guy told me he had a bad experience with them. First he had to stay in a different apartment than what he has booked. Second on his last day the driver who is supposed to take him to Sheremet'evo never showed up. That sucks!

They have a number of apartments in all price ranges and are constantly adding more. You get discounts for longer term rentals and in the winter prices will often be discounted from those listed on the website.

They can also help with visa support, airport transfers, tickets, etc...... and their website lists lots of useful information (non-hobby related) for those traveling to Russia.

I'm a frequent traveler to Russia and have used their services many times without any problems.

I discovered a man and wife, Kirill and Natasha, in Moscow that have 15 apartments that they rent out. They've been in business 8 or 9 years. I've used them on three occasions in two different apartments. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them.

You'll find a list of their apartments with prices, pictures and map of location of each.

They speak English and have never let me down.

I am getting nothing for this recomendation, but I posting this because they are so good and reasonably priced.

If you want to tell them that you were referred by california traveler or Jackson, you can... or not... it doesn't matter to me. HOWEVER, PLEASE DO NOT REFER TO OUR HOBBY because they do not know anything about the activities with the local talent.

See my post from 1/9... Also, probably all major hotels in Moscow have working girls. If you are unsure just go the the hotel bar and look around for women just hanging around
Got a cute Ukranian girl for $100 for 1 1/2 hours at the Rossiya Hotel. If you want to bring a girl back to your room from outside just let her do all the talking to security and be ready to pay from $5-$20 to get her in

Hey guys, wondering if anyone has any info on any of the following Hotels:

1) Cosmos
2) Rossia
3) Izmailomo
4) Ukrania

Any info would be helpful - how close they are to the action - rates vs. quality, policy (if any) on bringing woman back to the room, etc. Prefer first hand knowledge if possible, otherwise word of mouth would be fine. I am booked for April 2 through the 11th and still need to book a place to stay.
