For apartments try www.Moscow-Star.com or www.pulford.ru. Both in the $120-150 range and central. I give M-S the edge for their modern apartments and service.. plus DVD players, CD stereo systems, Kosmos TV etc. Most agencies don't offer any of that.

For hotels try Hotel Budapest. It was girl friendly last I heard. Almost none of the Russian hotels are. Marriotts are girl-friendly but will cost more the $200.

I prefer apartments, which are much preferred if you like to entertain freebies/normal girls or like to cook, stock your own fridge... especially if you are staying more than a few days and are on a non company sponsored budget, apartments prove their worth.

The militia is a hassle, but lately they have been totally pre-occupied with shaking down dark-skinned people around the metro entrances or government buildings and stopping cars. Terrorism concerns obviously.

I'm going back to Moscow in a couple of weeks, and unlike my previous visits I have to make all travel arrangements myself. I'm really at a loss regarding where I'm going to stay. I know this info has been posted piecemeal here and there, but if anyone can give me a more direct recommendation that'd be great.

On one hand the option of getting an apartment really appeals to me more than a hotel because of the freedom it provides, but at the same time I'm worried about security and reliablity. cheap-moscow and uncle pasha, the URLs I could find here, kind of scare me, especially the disclaimers section at cheap-moscow. Basically, I'm just looking for a girl-friendly place in downtown Moscow with 24-hour access, decent accomodations, at hopefully no more than $150-200 a night.

My Russian friends are either X employee of the company we do / did business or interpreter I used in the past. There is no money involved here and actually it is the other way round.

I was picked up from the hotel by one of them who is "very close" in all sense to me, driven down to a restaurant for a nice meal and was not allowed to pay the bill. Was given gifts for my family and was cared for during the whole trip. I felt lucky and blessed after being taken care in a foreign land like this.

Other one was not so kind and generous but still she was nice and sweet in taking care of me in her own sensual ways.

How did I achieve this ? I think it was a result of my trips to Russia over a year and half ( though only 4 Visits ) I have been nice and slow with them, respected them as a nice human being and not pushed them to go to bed.

Being a good listener to them when they were in thick and thins of life is something which is admired by them the most. In short I was just being a friend and I stayed in touch with them all the while after I came back home.

I did not get a chance to move out to many places as my work was bringing me back late to the hotel and then I wanted to make use of the time available in hand. Many a times I eat at the same hotel where I was residing. I am sorry there was no sightseeing for me at all.

As far as the journey back is concerned, I was not so lucky. The guy at customs stopped my 5 bags as I had free traded samples which I brought into Moscow for an exhibition. I was told because you displayed them and did business you needed to fill in special forms while bringing the goods in to Moscow. Cost- 200 $ after 20 minutes of arguments. I know I overpaid but I am bad at bargaining.

I had excess baggage( amazing they didn't give extra allowance of even 1 Kg over the 50 kg allowed in the first class ) so I was asked for 220 $ by Aeroflot staff which was later split in half and no receipt was provided. Oh by the way I paid all that while I still use VIP which costed me additional 3300 Ruble...... so at the end of the day it was a expensive check out

I had used VIP earlier also while leaving with the difference that I had a Russian Travel agent with me to help and I think I made a mistake this time by not asking them to accompany me. I was asked by the Custom guy " You have a Russian Friend here" and I replied he is not available at the moment here and that was what I feel made the difference.

Anyway all in all I am happy with the trip and I look forward to being there again.

A brief note on CF.

I was there about a week ago and took home Lana, an Uzbeki girl. If you have been to CF more than a few times you'll have seen her. She stands at the bar about half way down, usually with one or two other girls. Long black hair, dark brown skin. About 5'5" (165cm) with a good bust and expressive eyes. Hoping to avoid another self-indulgent tirade and promising to avoid any mention of what I was wearing or listening to on this particular Saturday night, kindly allow me to empty my semi-drunk consciousness of my rapidly fading memories of what turned out to be a very eventful evening combing those notorious expat-friendly and hopelessly (wonderfully) easy access venues we have all come to love, deplore, avoid and frequent all in one single night. Those familiar with Moscow will likely not find any new info below, but for those unfamiliar or only vaguely familiar with Moscow, maybe the below story will provide you with some useful info.

But from the beginning... after arrival from St.Pete I checked out www.girls-students.ru and www.studentki.ru. I called and both offered girls home delivered for $100/hour or $150/2 hours... I suppose a fair enough price considering that the supposed upscale www.modeli.ru seems to start at about $200 an hour... nonetheless I really didn't seriously consider either of these options as I normally need a girl for about 3 hours in which I can apply my chronic yet deliciously rewarding naivety and actually try to please the poor girl and instead called Natasha the ballerina for an afternoon rendezvous. I really can't stand this girl, but she is a ballerina with a ballerina body and has luscious big lips and.... well you wouldn't say no either.

A beer and a half later and after chatting up a few not unattractive and certainly fuckable pros I left for Real McCoy with a nice yet hopelessly lost Canadian expat in tow. Guy has been living in Moscow for 4 years and didn't speak a word of Russian, didn't know what a tochka was and had just been dumped by his Russian girlfriend of 4 years... how does shit like that happen? Wasn't an unattractive guy either... guess he doesn't read WSG often...

At Real McCoy a quick scan revealed a lousy crowd. I left without ordering even a single drink, although I was keeping Real McCoy in mind for later. Together with Garazh, it is my favorite place to go at 5am if you are still prowling or just drunk.

Off to Voodoo Lounge, more by default than anything since it is very close to Real McCoy, I was again disappointed and headed back to Karma Bar. Remarkably, the face control guys were turning back some very well-dressed people and cute girls.... this is remarkable because not only was Karma half-empty on this particular night, we all know that they really let in just about anyone there. I walked past the crowd waiting in front of the face control gate and told the doorman that I had already been there tonight and he let me pass. I really don't understand their new policy. The girls they turned away were cuter than many of the chicks already inside. Maybe they are trying to reestablish some degree of elitny character to one of Moscow's premier (and few) centrally-located demokratniy clubs...

Inside Karma I was really shocked by the relatively sparse crowd and I spoke to a number of girls inside, who agreed that Karma was going downhill... will have to keep this under observation. As you know, I've done very well (in my humble opinion) there in the past and it has been getting reviews on non-weekend nights.

Despite that and really despite myself I must say that I have never gotten laid easier in my life. After half-heartedly dirty dancing with two girls on the dance floor and being supremely annoyed by the screeching crowd of expats, homely expatelles (except for three extremely fuckable Spanish girls) and devushki I sat down in one of the so-called reserved VIP tables in the bar area there (just look like you belong there and no one will ask you to leave) and was soon joined by two girls whom I beckoned to join me, both with about a 7 face but an 8 body. Karma-esque girls, you know the type. Quite nice, easily of CF quality and for free with a little luck and effort. A round of drinks and a nasty dance later we were off to my apartment, where I fucked one of them on the bed while the other watched TV, looking over at us occassionally and giggling. I beckoned for her to join us but she didn't. Maybe she found Kosmos TV more interesting than Skank's rent-a-body. Oh well.

One thing should be noted... getting into Russia is quite easy now... I haven't been experiencing the brutally long waiting times that used to be common at Sher 2 in the past, particularly in front of passport control... however getting out takes forever. There is a baggage control point in front of the airport terminal and I've waited as long as an hour there.

Fortunately after telling my business partner he arranges for the VIP service getting out, without any papers or anything. You still have to run your bags through the machines and everything but can wait in the so-called exec lounge until like 20 minutes before the flight.

Also one note on an issue that is new to me... when flying to St.Pete from Moscow upon checkin at Sher 1 the militia wanted to see my Moscow registration, which I didn't have and had to bribe them 1000 rubles otherwise I would have missed my flight. They were ready to fill out the protokoll and everything... typical bureaucratic crap, but a real annoyance. Never happened to me at the airport before.

You have to admire the militia for their creativity in squeezing us for a few extra bucks...

Mohctep, what I mentioned was Professional VIP service which the Airport offers for in coming and out going Diplomats or Embassy Staff. It is not necessary to be an Embassy staff for this service but you do need to have a good connection in the Embassy to get this letter or you pay extra to Travel Agent and they get this letter for you.

Lot of Travel Company say they can get you "Fast Track" clearance at extra cost, please note this is not the same as VIP. Tell them you want them to reserve the VIP lounge for you and let them quote the rates.

Let me make it clear in no way this service is connected to prostitution.

Regarding this new fee of 149 Euro, sorry pal this doesn't make sense to me. When someone pays for the VISA as per the existing Russian rules, how come they can charge someone on arrival ? There must be some confusion or it is a scam.

The RUS VIP service sounds fantastic.
I have also used VIP "taxi caller" for 50 EU(he calls taxi while I wait at the curb). Recommend him very much to avoid hassles with taxi.
I also heard of VIP service that would have sex with girls that you picked up . It is 150 EU an hour. Very useful service in Moscow to avoid bad sexual experiences and generally to avoid fuking ugly whoes (which are 8s and 9s).
But you have to reserve these services in advance as they are very popular with dumb foreigners.
Also there is new entrance fee into Moscow that has to be paid by all foreigners . It is a new law and it went into effect yesterday. The fee is 149 EU and has to be paid to the guy in red jacket at a Newspaper stand. His name is Ivan. Please pay it right away to avoid any entrance hassles.

Friends, here is my report from Moscow-

Arrived last Sunday. Got letter from Embassy of my Country for VIP Custom and Immigration at Moscow Airport, which means we need not go through the normal procedure but instead were escorted by a Airport Staff to wait in the VIP Lounge while all formalities are done and our passports are handed back and baggage is brought by porters in the arrival lounge. This saves hassle also of customs. If the embassy has submitted the letter to the "VIP" service then it cost around 100 Euro per person each way for this service which has to be paid at the VIP lounge on arrival.

Just wanted to inform this so other members can be make use of it if they desire. In case if someone has no contact with the Embassy of their country in Moscow, then this letter can be Obtained through a Travel Agent but they charge a very high Fee which is between 200 - 250 US$ per person each way.

Stayed at "COSMOS " Hotel . It is a bit far away from the Centre.
The COSMOS CLUB Rooms ( Upgraded ) are nice and good value for money. They have a separate reception for the Cosmos Club guest and the rooms are located on 25th Floor with a separate restaurant where the breakfast is also served which was in the price of room.

I paid 160 $ for double room. I took a double room so problem of bringing a guest could be avoided. I must say that the Hotel was guest friendly though they have lots of security all over the place and they check your hotel card before letting you in the elevator.

However if you bring a guest before 11.pm you can just walk them in your room without any hassle. After 11.pm you need to register them. I had my friends ( ladies) who visited me and I didn't had any problems with the security, they just saw my hotel card and no questions asked. I am no sure if this is also the same for NON COSMOS CLUB rooms. But for club rooms absolutely no hassle.

The hotel also has in house girls who are available in the lobby area around 9.45 - 10.00 Pm onwards till 5.00 am or so. The areas are demarcated for them to operate. They don't come in the main area of the lobby but operate from the Bars / Cafes. One set of Girls ( total 9 ) operates from the bar on the right side of the lobby just behind the reception of Cosmos Club rooms.

Other set of girls operate from the Bar/Restaurant on the Left side of the lobby which is close to the escalator which comes up to the lobby from the parking area. I don't know the number for sure but also around 9-10 of them. Most of the girls range from 7-8 but I have seen at least 2 who are 9. I will try to get their phone numbers tonight if I manage to see them in the lobby.

I picked up DASHA from the lobby she is an 8 for body and 7 for facial looks. As a matter of fact I hadn't seen the 9's till then or else I would have gone for them.I believe the charges are fixed at 100$ / hour. I was told that the girls have to pay 60$ to the hotel every evening which is irrespective of the amount of business they do.
