Moskovskie girls don't want to leave MOSKVA . They perfectly know that the foreigners are only looking for a free fuck. So you are getting those girls that are really desperate or new. s75... I guess it is my frustration of having several hot chicks at dance clubs not want to invest the effort in communicating with someone who does not speak Russki. I imagine that out of Moscow where there is more of a chance that a Westerner could still face the "white god" treatment, it would be a plus, but my experience with regular girls in Moscow makes it seem more of a hinderence than a help.

RE: Green cards... I think you validated my point with your comment, that outside of Moscow it would be a higher priority than inside of a big city. Of course, that said in the right situation just about any girl would move to be with a man.

A recent article that I saw indicated that Russia could lose more than 30% of it's population in the few decades because of people leaving and a low birth rate.

Cruz, I speak a little russian and can read cyrillic but found the site at dosug.ru helpful. They have a "services" search. If you can read russian or look up words in a dictionary you can translate this page. Take it with you and point to what you would like to any non-english speaking dyev and she will understand. I'm a near-native speaker of Russian and I would have to disagree with you on your point highlighted below that Russian speakers would have an easier time scoring.

I tested this theory by approaching various girls, in each case pretending that I barely knew any Russian, that I knew some Russian and that I knew excellent Russian: the results were all mixed and I cannot infer any unified hypothesis.

Some girls may be impressed with a foreigner that speaks excellent Russian, while others may view them as not "exotic" and "inordinary" anymore since he already has a good understanding of her general cultural behavior and attitude, thus placing him in the same competition category as millions of other Russian guys.

Poor knowledge of Russian can definitely and understandibly create a language barrier for many girls; although other girls who lack language skills and who probably have never met foreigners before may be more impressed (thus increasing your scoring chances). Yes, I have met many girls in Moscow (all of whom have lived in Moscow their whole life, moved to Moscow a long time ago or just recently moved to Moscow) who have never travelled abroad and who have never met a foreigner in their life, albeit the fact that the city is loaded with them (I've seen such girls in Propaganda, B2 and Real McCoy).

Regarding green cards, you are overgeneralizing and you should know that if you have vast experience with the city. No matter how developed, shiny and expensive everything inside the Garden Ring may be, the majority of Muscovites (both men and women) still live on a couple of hundred bucks a month in substandard apartments (relatively speaking) bordering MKAD and Podmoskoviye. Granted that the relatively rich and well off "middle-class" (which I would categorize as probably 15% of the city, 20-25% at most) may not really be attracted to immigrating to America, the rest (especially those living near the outer ring) definitely have groups up and not up for grabs.

G#2... With apologies to albertc and his cultured comments, I would like try to answer your questions about 1o9's report....

1. First of all, just because he speaks fluent Russian, please do not think that the Russian girls are stupid enough not to recognize that he is a Westerner who just happens to speak Russian. Russian's in general take great pride in their country and their language. Trust me, even with my backwoods culture, to recognize that Russian girls respect the fact that an English-speaking native has taken the time to learn their language. I am studying Russian and I have friends who study several hours per day with individual instructors, but I guarantee you that I/they will never be able to speak like a Russian or even Eastern European.

In addition, I do not doubt for a second that as a Russian speaker, you could score almost at will in many clubs... AND I say that not as a 20-30 something Brad Pitt look-alike, but as a mid-50's guy who can shuck and jive a little, but not much more. However, just as you questioned... you had better show that you are confident and self-assured or you will definitely have a rough time. YOU are expected to make the first move.

Secondly, it may be a shock to you, but most Moscow girls DO NOT want to move to American just to get a green card. If you are talking about a girl from Siberia, maybe... But not Moscow girls.

lc... the question really is how much is 'English speaking'... Assuming that you don't want to have a really deep life-altering discussion, you will find girls that know the important questions and answers at almost all venues except tochkas and most apartments.

With all due respect to BBAJ, you will always find girls at CF, NF and for the most part SL, who will speak enough English to get the point across. If the particular girl doesn't speak English they will find someone who does to translate.

That said, I don't speak much Russki and when I started I didn't speak more than a few words, but it didn't stop me from exploring. What I find at tochkas and other places is if you've got the Bens... they've got the time to try to figure out how to make it work.
