Well, 36+ hours after the fact I'm more or less back to normal. I've slept through most of the last two days. I keep thinking about what had happened and it's really amazing that this happened to me. So it looks the girls I took home were also the ones who did the drugging, since I also think one of them swiped my cell phone from my pocket while we were in the cab. I know I still had it when we left the club because I kept checking my pockets all the time after the earlier pickpocket attempt. I might have just lost it myself I guess, but considering the fact that it was the only item in my left pant pocket, and the girl who protested to being sent home the most was the one sitting to my left in the cab where I momentarily fell asleep, it all kind of makes sense.

Anyway, the thing that scares me the most is that I'm 100% certain my beer bottle never left my hands as I was talking to those girls. As I think about it, it is entirely possible to distract somebody for a moment and quickly throw something light and small into his bottle. Only takes a second. I guess I'm going to be paranoid from now on and plug beer bottles with my thumb at all times, and hold a cup / glass from above covering the opening with my palm. Next time I might not be so lucky, and lose much more than a cell phone.

I wish I could describe what the girls looked like as a precaution, but unfortunately I just don't remember much. I have a horrible memory for names, and wouldn't remember theirs even if I wasn't drugged. The brunette who was sitting next to me in the cab and most likely grabbed my phone I remember very vaguely. She was about 5'9" with heels or even taller I think, and had long badly curled jet-black hair in a ponytail and kind of a simple Eastern-type face. Her blonde friend was a little shorter, had I think shoulder length straight platinum hair with darker highlights, cute open face, said she was an economist student and was wearing dark jeans and a light colored t-shirt with something like EAX written on it. I basically just described half of the CF girls so this paragraph is probably not very valuable. Maybe next Friday I'll hit up CF again and see if I can spot them. I want that damn cell phone back since it has all my friends' phone numbers in it. God damn it.

I guess the final possibility is that those girls weren't responsible for anything except trying to make some money, my state of the last two days is related to something completely different, and I simply lost my cell phone while stumbling around in stupor. I don't know. I'm an extremely cautious guy, anything but a dope, grew up in a bad neighborhood and in my early youth was no stranger to the street and petty crime so I consider myself streetwise. If myself and the old warhorse Dr Skank have gotten drugged in the past six months, this really should serve as a huge warning to everybody. Be careful out there, and if you ever begin to feel drowsy or weird, ditch the girls immediately before it takes full effect and lock all doors.

apparently i haven't yet fully recovered...

hah, i was at cf last night too and the place was the busiest i've ever seen. i had to wait 15 minutes to get in. some pros also waiting in line were actively looking for clients so i might have even probably gone home before even getting in, but i didn't see anyone particularly attractive.

If you happen to be traveling to Moscow in the next month or so, here is a short update for you...

First of all, white nights are in full swing now. When I left a club at 0230 last night, the sky was beginning to lighten or was it beginning to darken? Basically from this point on, barring clouds, you can plan to have light in the sky for the entire night for the next 5 or 6 weeks. So, make sure your apartment has something available to darken the windows or you may be up at 0500 as the sun pierces your eyelids with what feels like an ice pick.

Yes, it is June, but other than a few days of 35C/87F weather it has been very cool so you may want to include a jacket for the evening because it can be a little crisp. Girls are still in summer outfits with the short skirts but it will get better as it warms up more.

Last night was the first Friday night in the past month that CF has seemed to be it's old self with a good mix of regular girls and WG at midnight. Place was packed and there were many new faces among the pros.

Yeah, love.mail.ru is an effective site... and Russian will help you, but it isnt absolutely necessary... even though you'll get much more feedback if they feel that you are culturally approachable and not just some lurking freak in Seattle, New Delhi, Vicenze or Newcastle. I experimented using both languages and found that many simply wouldnt respond to an English text... but most responded to a Russian one. Two things that will improve your responses are a good profile of yourself with attractive pictures and displaying a good knowledge of Moscow... I always mentioned clubs or cultural events etc. and got into conversations. If you can get a conversation going you've won half the battle.

I used to arrange several dates through websites before my journeys too... but found that in the end that it was a pain in the ass running around trying to meet them all... it both wore me out and bored me. Going to clubs is just as effective and often more fun. I think a combination of pre-arranged dates and spontaneous club fun is the best mix.

One thing that is extremely effective for me is going to a club, picking the hottest approachable girl (i.e. without boyfriend) I can find, getting her number and if it isnt going extremely well, then telling her you are leaving... and then go to a different club to continue hunting for a girl who will go home on the first date. It gives you some sort of legitimacy with the first girl and with the number of a hottie already inhand my confidence reaches nearly ridiculous levels and I am more effective. It depends on the room type you chose, as every “soviet” style hotel there are different room types, from very basic to suites: if you chose the 1st class there will be no problem. In the lobby of all the Izmailovo Group you can find everything you need from casino to restaurant (I recommend the Georgian one in the Gamma elevator lobby, good and cheap, but only Russian), from shoemaker to tailor or pharmacy (selling Viagra and Cialis, no prescription needed) to fast internet services.

As far as I know, on ground there are a lot of Russian tourist in Moscow there are no problem with them. Izmailovo complex is mainly made for Russians, so why getting problems with buying rooms? It must be some legend… from old times. Look at the internet site.

In any case if you have problem with your girl friend you can register her (with her documents) at the elevator guard (only one but they will show you where) from the morning up to 11 PM as a guest.
