It was hard for me to find an intermediate priced Hotel in Moscow. Last year I stayed at the Hotel Sretenskaya which I would characterize as a boutique type hotel. Its a few blacks out past the Kremlin (and Oh La La) at Sretenska St. 15. There may some web rates at 160 euro. I got a room by phone at the last minute from Gelendzhik and I think I paid slightly more. A Metro stop was a couple of blocks away and an American style restaurant across the street called "Simple Pleasures". I think I had stir fried vegtables with shrimp and Black Bean sauce. I had something similar at Night Flight the night before.

By the way if you're a foodie check out a famous food emporium on Tvevskaya called Yeliseyev (if not for the food, the architecture).

The hotel did note my female quests and make a surcharge.

You will not find in Moscow a cheap deluxe hotel except you have some special deals with the hotel chain (special company rates etc.), but still it's in most cases over EUR 200 for weekend and EUR 250 on weekdays. Even the russian hotels as President, Golden Ring, Rossja, Peking, etc. are not that cheap but grant you really ugly rooms and a soviet service quality. I remember the good old time in the 90s staying as a student in the "famous" Intourist hotel... I am happy that I have not to use anymore such places. The only alternative for a cheaper accomodation is booking an apartment.

But be anyway aware that a cheap accomodation is only a little part of your Moscow adventure. Moscow is not a discount destination. Going out, especially to the good elitny restaurants and clubs as Gazgolder, First, Osen, Billionaire etc. will cost you much more than 200$ a night (a table is from 1000-7000$).

Moscow is a european nightlife hotspot - in quality but as well in pricing. And that's good. That selects the guests quality. If you compare the guests of these clubs with clubs in Riga, Prag, Budapest, then you know about what I speak. Moscow is not yet destroyed from budget tourist and I hope it will not change!

I have question about hotels in Moscow.

I will stay some days in Sheraton but I may be will need stay soem extra days somewhere else.

Is there any hotels which have decent price and girls friendly?

So far I understand that western hotels have no problems with it, but what about local hotels, and how figure out who manage them?

Is anybody have experience with Pekin,Minsk or other centrally located hotels?

Dear friends,

We keep writing that speaking or understanding Russian is a necessity to monger in Moscow. Some may disagree but reality and other mongers experiences proved it clearly how the scene totally change when there is no language barrier.

Most of the NF and CF girls and very few club girls may speak at least one foreign language (usually English) ; NF girl Lena could speak 5 languages (she was an exception).

On Internet girls, mostly the dispatch may speak English and you will be lucky if the girl at your door speak more than couple of words. When I am in Moscow I use the same dispatch, we were satisfied with the services. We know that only 2 or 3 girls barely speak and understand English. As long as girls are responsive and friendly language is not a problem(for my buddies and I).

I don’t like to use the regular taxi and most of the irregular taxi drivers like to talk with me when they realized I am a foreigner and come from Istanbul.

Russians really proud with their language and when they realized that a foreigner trying to speak their own language, the ice just break down and they are more helpful.

I also like to say “Ya gavaryu I panimayu pa-Russki chut chut” (I speak and understand Russian a little) when they are talking about us with their friends at the club or phone. At first they were ashamed but they take it kindly. They love to talk.

Well I'll vouch for most of what IT travel says but she doesn't speak a word of English and I had the most ridiculous time getting her my apartment. Had to have the floor babushka make the call for me after pantomiming that I wanted her to come see me. She finally showed up at 3am after repeated calls since midnite. The experience was great but what a pain it was getting her to show up without being able to speak Russian

Hi Guys,

I've spent hours on the internet and the forum to prepare my business trip in moscow.

It looks difficult if you don't speak Russian.

I would like to find a girl up to 100 dollars for one hour. Every website in english is full a girls with 300 - 2000 euros prices

And website in russian has tons of girls with reasonable prices.
