It's not girl friendly because it has its own working girls. They can call you in your room or even knock at your door, especially if you are in the renewed area with a view to the Kremlin. You can call the receptionnist for some company or go to the massage salon. The rate was $100 / hour in 2002 (maybe higher now) but you could negociate as low as $50 for a quick session.

The girls (hmm women) are not the best looking ones and the price is rather expensive for Moscow. Better option is an apartment or you might go to salons / saunas / apartments. Stayed at the sheraton hotel at least 8 times in the last four years. No problem at all bringing chicks in. Don't need to register the girls most of the time. But sometimes, if she really looks lika a street worker, they register her. It's really for your safety.

In last 11 months I have been to Moscow more than 25 times. Almost in every visit I went to NF but only 5 or 6 times I picked up a girl from NF. Almost in every visit there were 40-50 guys and 150-200 girls. Unfortunately day by day the quality of the girls are on downfall. There are too many fake boobs and lips.

Once we went to NF after a sinful and crazy party at Shandra. A dirty blonde approached me, we chated a little and asked $500 for a quicke. Well it's his money!!

As Doc mentioned clearly, listen to your insticts and remember you are the patron not her. There are too many girls hopelessly waiting to make some money.

Just a couple of very small comments to doc's excellent, as usual, epilstle on Moscow vs. Spb...

Personally, I think the restaurants in the Ukraine are far and away better than any, reasonably priced, restaurant in either Moscow or Spb.

I would humbly include the Vatican museum in with the Louvre and the Hermitage.

His weather comparison is in degrees "C" and not "F" for the Americans reading... and 5 degrees "C" is a BIG difference when the wind is blowing at 20 knots.

RE: Girls... Girls in Spb are different from the Moscow girls... Spb has more blondes... Moscow girls still carry the Tartar genes and are a little more "Asian" influence... dark hair with a slight slant of the eyes... Not to say that they are Asian, but GENERALLY they have that slight tinge of a look.

I think Big Bro AJ is the resident expert, but here are my 2 cents:

Bar area vs. restaurant area: Bar area! You'll know why when you get there.

Is 10 pm (2200h) too early?: Yes. 11:30-12pm is the best time to show up, unless you eat before (save entrance fee) in which you should come about 10:30pm, eat and go down to the bar about 11:30pm... earliest.

Dollars, Euros, Rubles?: Doesnt matter, although you'll be best advised to pay in dollars or rubles. Euro is worth the most and you'll lose the most on exchange with the girls. $250 dollars and 250 Euro are two very different prices, but often they are exchanged for each other in negotiation with pros.

Do's and dont's: I think its best to avoid aggressive women, you should always make a counter offer when she names her price, or simply name yours. Trust your instincts. Dont let the girl control the situation. If you have certain requirements that are not in the standard program, you may want to clear that before hand. Don't let the girl control the situation. I am particular about kissing and BBBJ for example. To follow up on Ca_T's analysis, here are my subjective impressions...

Funny how in the West St.Pete and Moscow are viewed almost as cities of equal status, as if St.Pete were on par with Moscow. It isn't. Moscow dominates St.Pete economically, politically and socially. St.Pete can hold its own claiming to be the cultural capital of Russia, but even this is a misnomer somewhat as St.Pete represents Russia's European culture and not necessarily its Slavic culture, which is more at home in Moscow.

Everybody who travels regularly to Russia seems to develop a favorite of the two. Russians from either city will inevitably ask you which city you prefer. I prefer Moscow for sentimental reasons, but thoroughly enjoy both cities. Tourists often favor St.Pete, which is definitely the "easy access" city, with at least somewhat of a tourist infrastructure. Moscow is more popular among businessmen and club-goers.

Both cities do have a lot to offer, although I tend to try and avoid going to St.Pete in the winter... but somehow always end up there in December!

A brief comparison:

Weather: St.Pete is about 5 degrees colder than Moscow, which makes a difference especially in the winter. The wind coming off the sea can make St.Pete brutally cold in the winter months. That said, the city really doesnt slow down and you'll still enjoy what it has to offer, provided you bundle up. Summer in St.Pete is fantastic, White Nights and all. Great atmosphere.

Tourist things: St.Pete has many famous museums, including the Hermitage, arguably the world's best musuem together with the Louvre. Moscow has many museums as well and sights to see. Either way a tourist can have a lot to do, although St.Pete is easier to navigate, at least at the beginning, since most things are just off of Nevsky Prospect.

Militia (police): You are more likely to get stopped by the police in Moscow, but St.Pete cops are actually more troublesome. Moscow cops want a bribe, if St.Pete cops stop you they likely are looking to steal something or take all your money. That said, most people will never have any trouble whatsoever with the police. However if you are like me, and many mongers are, you'll be prowling around at 3am and sooner or later you will be checked by the police. You shouldnt be paranoid about it, but be prepared. Best is to have your documents in order, not be too drunk and to remain calm. Best advice I can give is to not walk around very late at night, take a taxi whereever you want to go. My most annoying militia hassles were all while walking home late at night. 90% of the time nothing happens, but when you are stopped its an annoyance and sometimes more than that.

Restaurants: St.Pete is improving quickly, but Moscow offers much much more. I find Moscow restaurants to be better than many of the places I've eaten in Europe.

Prices: St.Pete is about 10-15% cheaper than Moscow in nearly everything.

Street prostitution/line-ups (tochka): Exists in both cities to a point, however in St.Pete it isnt really accessible for the average john. Besides that, from what I hear you should avoid this anyway in St.Pete as both the quality and health of the girls is poor. Read up on tochkas in the Moscow section if you have any questions, its well-documented.

Pickup bars: Exist in both cities. The main ones in St.Pete are Tribunal (lately getting the best reviews), Magrib (which is a normal disco with some pros working... sometimes tough to identify the pros though) and Marstalls (quality has been generally poor for several years now). In Moscow the main ones are Night Flight (every girl there is a pro, pricey) and Doug and Martys Boar House aka Chesterfields (after midnight 90% of the girls there are pros, somewhat cheaper than NF). Prices in St.Pete $100-200 and in Moscow $150-300, usually for 2-3 hours or sometimes the night, depending on your negotiation skills, the girl, the club etc. Of course you can pay much more in either city as well....

Strip clubs: Moscow seems to have the better strip clubs, including some in house fucking at some places and take home possibilities at others. Read 109's strip club report in "reports of distinction" or do a search on 109 or Ca_T for strip club info.

Apartment/sauna girls: Fairly well developed system in both cities, a good cheap option. Well-documented in the forum. $50-150/hour. This may require some Russian language skills.

Internet: Both outcall and incall, this is also well-documented in the forum. This may require some Russian language skills. $100-300 for 2-3 hours +

Regular discos: Moscow definitely has more and better designed clubs, which sometimes makes it
difficult to decide where to go. This actually makes St.Pete more attractive in some way as options are somewhat limited and your decision-making process is made that much easier.

Ease of picking up freebies: It's about the same in both cities, although if anything St.Pete girls are more conservative. St.Pete girls also seem to have less freetime, so arranging dates can be difficult. I'm not sure where your Western status will go farther, my hunch says actually in St.Pete. St.Pete girls dont go out as much as Moscow girls, so despite the hordes of tourists there in the summer, you're more likely to meet an "untarnished" curious dyev in St.Pete. Besides that, Moscow girls are more accustomed to Western guys throwing money around than St.Pete girls. Your fat wallet will impress St.Pete girls more than Moscow girls.

Beauty of girls: You cant go wrong in either city, the girls are impressive. Perhaps you'll see more elegant beauty in St.Pete, Moscow rules for teen hotties. Moscow also offers more variety, as the city is Russia's melting pot and a magnet for people from all the ex-Soviet republics.

One note that is important, there is no "magic recipe" for either city. Just when you think you've seen it all or know everything, you'll be surprised. You have to get out there and go for it. I look forward to every trip, because I never know what to expect...

It's true that many Russian girls respond well to kindness and gentlemanly conduct as well, but I think you do have to stand your ground on certain issues. Initially they love the gentle attention, but they can get spoiled by it with time, just as all girls will. Depends on the girl of course, chances are you'll recognize the signs if she is getting too content with your polite conduct.

Just as in America, most Russian self-proclaimed "real men" are actually just "jerks" with too much attitude. Nevertheless, I have yet to meet a Russian girl who didnt appreciate at least some aspects of typical male behavior. Especially in bed they seem to like it a bit rough, although applied tenderness will go a long way. I think you need to show both aspects at times, if they only see your gentle side you'll run the risk of being seen as weak.

I think you should be careful with being too kind... if you arent careful you'll end up with a wife...
