The Reforma hotel is about 5 blocks up Guerrero st after crossing bridge 1. $38/night and guarded parking lot in rear. Desk clerk will speak english as well. Decent A/C but if you ask for a fan they will give you one. Good restaraunt with a small bar in the hotel as well, you can take drinks to your room. It is nice to walk straight down and have breakfast. I speak fairly good spanish so I called the front desk and the doorman brought drinks to my room for a small tip several times in one night cause I was having a little get together with my chica and didnt feel like getting dressed or if you just by mixers and a bottle they will bring ice to your room (for a small charge of course).

Planning a trip to BT on Saturday and need some recommendations on a hotel to stay in NL. Would like price to be $50 or less, and would like to be near downtown. I read about a hotel near Herradura Club in el centro but forgot the name. I'll probably drive over so parking at hotel would be nice. Thanks for any help.

i left at about friday about 3:00 pm, got there at 6:00. parked at $8.00 lot by bridge and walked all the way up to the bridge before i realized that i left the parking lot ticket on my dash, this is all some would need to seal the truck,had to walk back and hide it and leave a $10 there so no matter what i could get out. walked across and went to first bar on the right, last time there had given the waitress some colored sunglasses and she remenbered me, cuba libra $3.00, she told me about a hotel across from the 2nd plaza($34.00 + $10 deposit), my room faced the statue of some dead guy and i could hear the clock tower ringing on each hour. found a guy that used to live in austin(deported back) that i hired to be my guide, i gave him a $20 and he hung out wile i walked around, translated every thing for me and even got me a girl that was about a 6 with a j-lo butt, she came to dinner with us (church's chicken $14.00) and then we stopped at a liquor store and bought some crown $8.00/ cigs for her $3.00. back to girl friendly hotel and all had some shots. back to hotel he left and a bit later she comes back $45 asking anything but the butt, ended up giving her $50. got questioned at bridge and did not declare, got hit on by the dogs at the check point and had to pull over and be questioned and the dog in my suv. did not look threw my stuff. got back to austin at 1:30. the guide idea was great, i have his address and plan to use him again. i will give him a little more money and pay for a few drinks and he will get me anything i want and more importantly, keep me out of trouble. by the way she did bbbj and multiple positions sans ropa after shower, about room girl speed but was a simi-pro looking for rent. backchannel me for guide's address

Thanks BH--makes a lot of sense. It may not even be SHEER ignorance on their part...they may just NOT BE GREEDY during the rest of the month. Also they'll prefer $80 for one pop over $100 for two if they put a lot of value on limiting their encounters.

I thought it was fairly well known that the chicas and bar owners in Mexico don't seem to understand the whole theory of supply and demand. When things start getting slow they raise their prices in order to make the same money. Unfortunately for them, this rarely works and ends up running off even more business. The girls dont seem to realize that they make more money doing two mongers for 50.00 each instead of one for 80.00. Therefore when it comes to the end of the month they raise their prices thinking they will make more money. They also seem to have raised their pricing before elections but that might have just been a timing issue. I always try to get down there about the third weekend of the month, before they get desperate.

About parking on the US side...I'd like some better ideas.

If I'm arriving AFTER 6 PM and am leaving before 8 AM the next morning then no problem...I just park for free in a metered space on Grant Street in the block just before you reach the Posada Inn...that's VERY close to Puente 1 and it's cool.

But if I'm gonna stay over, I've been shelling out $8 for the big riverfront lot that used to be free and that kind of sucks. Anybody got any better options??

I'll be comming from Austin friday during the day, parking on the US side, walking over and getting a hotel in NL. Shoe string budget so I will prob. be hitting it with just one bar lady and maybe one or two room girls. Korser if your there it would be great to meet a icon!!! I'm curious why prices would go DOWN when rent is paid, and not up...is that how it works at BT? Because THEORETICALLY, wouldn't they be LESS desparate for a hook-up and LESS willing to deal? I'm thinking of when you go to buy a car at the end of the month when the salesmen make all kinds of deals so they make their monthly quota...

There were a few instances were knowing Spanish might of helped, but that's only if you want to sit down and have a conversation with one of the girls. All you have to say to the girls is "sucky, f**ky" and they understand that. Most of the time they will say it to you and they will also give you a price. You know why you are there and they no why you are there, so there is no pretense.

Be careful of some of the bar girls. Sometimes after they give you a price, they will say something about the room, condom and more time, which can be an indication that it's going to be the price they said, plus extra $ for the room, etc. Don't be embarrassed to ask if any of the other girls, bartenders or patrons can translate for you if you're not sure what you are getting into. Like I said, they know why you are there. It's all very open.

One thing I did was write down what I wanted to do such as anal, in Spanish, and I would show it to the girls. Some understood, which you could tell by body language, and some you could tell couldn't read at all. Unfortunately, trying to find a girl who would do anal was near impossible. But then again I didn't spend a lot of time trying and it was with the door girls. The bar girls may be more receptive to it.

My advise is to walk around the place and observe before you do anything. Don't go into the first bar you see. There are guys who work for the bars who really try to get you to come inside by saying they have the best girls. Don't be taken in by that. Good luck and have fun.

I'm gonna be a first time NL visitor in a few days. Just waiting for a friend from the East Coast to arrive. It's good to hear a first time report; hopefully, our experience will be the same.

BTW, if you didn't speak spanish, how did you communicate with them. Neither of us speak spanish, either.

Turns out I was worried for no reason. BT was fantastic! I had a good time, although I didn't get to spend much time in any of the bars. Mid-week is slow. It was a learning experience and like everything else in life, you don't know untill you try.

I got to Laredo later than I planned. So I didn't get to BT until 9pm. Got a English speaking cabbie and he told me I didn't need to know any Spanish to have a good time there. I went to the Donkey Bar first and was immediately approach. She was older and about a 6, so I decided to wait until after the show. Unfortunately, not enough customers to put on a show, so I ditched the girl a went elsewhere. Wanted $40, but I got the impression that wasn't the full cost.

So, I went with a door girl first, just to get my feet wet. She was young. I couldn't tell if she was inexperienced or nervous because she seemed a little reluctanct. $30 for the deed, which I was surprised since everyone hear said $10 to $20, but I went for it anyway.

Then I wondered around for a hour taking in the fact that there were woman everywhere that I didn't have to try to wine and dine. The question in my mind was, "Why the hell can't we have these kinds of places in the U.S.!" Americans and our morality.

Anyway, second try was a little different. I remembered that I didn't have to take the price quoted since there were so many too choose from. Tried the strategy of talking loud enough and rejecting girls who wanted $30 or more, so the girl next to them would come down in price. It worked. Asked for a $15 BJ. Second girl stopped halfway through and planted herself on top of my little Spy Brother and smiled. Then I held on for the ride.

Went back the next day as I was going to leave for home. Amazingly, a lot of door girls were out and even some from the bars were hanging around. I went to the El Centro Bar and there was a guy who spoke perfect English who worked there. Told me where to get Viagro, gave me a lot of info about BT, told me when they were going to close due to elections and offered me his sister who worked there. She was a little chunky, and agreed to do anal as she jokingly called me a pervert. I ended up declining because she said she had never done anal before. Hung out with her brother some more who tried to teach me some Spanish. Also, invited me to come back to BT.

I left and found a door girl who tried the $30 deal. But I told her I knew about the elections and how BT would be closed, and that I only had $20. She went for it, but afterwards tried to get another $10 out of me. Didn't happen.

Overall, I enjoyed the experience. I even drove around in NL and to BT without any problems. Also, BT has got to be one of the safest places in Mexico and everyone was friendly. I did get stopped and searched by the policia in BT but they were friendly and just suspicious because I drove around for 20 minutes before I chose a girl, and the area was pretty empty.

I think I want to marry a Mexican girl now.

I don't know if this has been posted here and just in case any of you travelers are going into NL and BT... we have an alcohol curfew in Monterrey, Mexico this weekend (YES, your 4th of July weekend) all due to federal elections and as far as I know, in Reynosa and Matamoros too.
It starts from Friday midnight and ends at Sunday midnight.

Sorry guys..... but I think you have to check if its happening on NL.

I am not Asian, however I have taken an Asian friend to BT. On thing to beware of is that the Chicas tend to think Asians have lots of money, therefore negotiating prices is sometimes harder for them. Just remember to stick to your guns. Remember not to pay more than what you feel is a fair price (personally no more than 80.00 for even the best looking Papa's girls on a busy night) as this will help keep the prices down for everyone. Prices should go back down now that 1. rent has been paid and 2. the elections will be over and the girls can go back to work. Seems they went up in the last week or so, and I blame that on the usual end of the month (rent is due) increase, and the fact that due to the elections the girls would not be able to work in the bars for a couple of day and had to make extra money to carry them through a slow week.
