    Newbee to Jakarta

I am a newbee to Jakarta and it appears staying in southern Jakarta for first timers may be better than staying in North Jakarta, all because of the traffic. Am I right? I am not attached to any road or street, just looking now before booking.

Stayed recently in DCozie, one street from Falahetan BlokM. Basically its on antasari / prapanca road. Where all the bluebirds hang around who are too afraid to go into Falahetan.

Rooms the usual boring decor, but a great rooftop bar has aircon inside and open air outside. Small but cozy and great chilled music. Also has karaoke with a big western song book (not Kota style Karaoke).

From the rooftop bar you can see MyBar entrance.

But it closes at 11 pm.

Another worthy alternative, PARTICULARLY if you want to be close to the Falahetan action.

Hahah love your bajai spirit, I'm a big fan. You know ever seen the elusive yellow one? It works from blomkm square.

So I've just booked the OakTree for a night trip in November, I can now map out a romantic tour home by Bajaj with my two girls squeezed on either side of me. Bajaj's are a great way to break the ice when it comes to threesomes & Jl. Felatehan.

I might even stop off at the pasar malam on the way back to the Oak Tree and buy a bouquet of freshly picked ground peanuts for the girls. Does the Valet parking at OakTree alllow Bajaj's to wait on standby??

Very close to the well known Hotel Mahakam, behind blokm Plaza.

The Neo hotels are new and as such are clean. The main issue with all the new budget business hotels is more whether the room size might feel claustrophobic to some, and whether they have a minibar fridge and room safe. As far as I know, the Neo hotels have both but the rooms are somewhat cramped if you're not used to it. The Royal Kuningan is also around Ambhara pricing and you may have to pass the doorman, but you can avoid the lobby on the first floor by taking the lift directly from the ground floor.

Just in case JohnA doesn't see your post and you need info quickly. Also, another acceptable choice might be Win Hotel -- on Panglima Polim Raya, just south of the NEO location. (see the NEO map.) Full disclosure-I've never stayed in either, but they look ok from exterior. And, the Melawai is very old and shop-worn. TTG.

Hotel has a very good gym and small pool, they have old TV but a lot of English content. At both hotels I had no issue with my guests except for the WOS, you could certainly feel everyone staring at you as you walk in.

I believe the minimum was something over 2 million rupiah, and that is if you take them out after midnight with them leaving you early morning. Before midnight, add approximately 400k to each hour you want to have them. In my opinion, it's not even worth consideration. Just shag them inside Classic if that's your venue of choice (I don't really prefer Classic, the girls are young and good looking, but they are mostly a bunch of lazy starfish. I can only imagine how horrible the service would be if you took one of those girls to your room where the mamasans are not there to crack the whip.). If you want a girl in your room for the night - blok m, bats or cjs are better choices.
Absolutely Smoothy. It's better to try the clubs in South Jakarta where the free lancers are more than happy to join you.
