Is it possible to get confirmation from any experienced member about Girl friendly policy of Harris Suites hiotel. If is at a nice location but you have to pass by reception narrow area. It is very convenient if you want to pick girls from Leila club on level 8. But I am bit unsure if this hotel allows multiple girls as you can take easily in Shangri La. I appreciate if some one can clarify this hotel's guest policy.
I stayed in the Harris Suites two years ago. It is a strange hotel, with the reception desk tucked away and easy to miss when you enter the mall. It is completely girl friendly, like most hotels in Jakarta. The rooms are a bit small, but the view from the rooms is magnificent, since the hotel occupies the top part of the tower. What turned me off, was that the hotel has no restaurant so breakfast has to be 'enjoyed' in the downstairs mall, which is then still mainly closed and dark. During my next visits I stayed in the Century Park, next door.

I stayed at both of these places for US $270 and US $250 respectively a night in March and April this year, but just went to book the Mulia for late August and early September and the best rate I could get for the same room was US $710! Have I missed something?
Thanks.
Due to Asian Games next in the city that's why I had postponed my plan to visit the city from Aug to Sept.

I did one search on skyscanner and for some random dates on a 2/3 night stay between 25th of Aug till the 5th of September, as well as for the entire period 25/8 - 5/9 I found the Shangri-La to be between 200-250 USD and the Mulia around the 400 mark. Maybe check and change your booking site.
Yes, you have to begin shopping for hotels well in advance of your trip. Here are the lowest rates that I have booked in the last 12 months:
Grand Hyatt $135 (hotel site),
Fairmont $127 (Agoda),
Shangri-la $155 with bfst (Agoda),
Ayana MidPlaza (former InterContinental) $101 (Expedia), and
the Mulia Senayan $276 (Agoda).
I never pay the rack rate which can be up to 3 times the rates I have posted above.

Yes dear, it is due to Asian games organised in Jakarta in August end and September. I would better delay travel or stay outskirts. I hope you enjoy a nice trip.
Thanks my friend, that is good advice. I owe you a beer!

I've never stayed at the hotel but have worked nearbye. The Fx and lots of malls within walking distance have great eating options. They also offer staff that may be keen to give you some after work fun. All are reasonably high end malls so dress well and act properly if you want to proposition other shoppers.
Fx also is well known by taxis for easy pickup or return trips.
The only negative I can think of is it's in the area with possibly the worst traffic in Jakarta. To go any where at start or end of the business day will take literally a couple of hours. Depending in your Game this may open up other opportunities as many girls from the nearbye office building hit the food courts with their friends to burn off a couple of hours until traffic clears.

Sorry for late reply. The Hotmen Bar in Hotel Menteng 2 is dead and buried. No use going there.
Ko, thanks. Nowadays when in Menteng, I am not in the right company anymore to go and say "let's check out menteng dua". LOL. Isn't there a new bar in the hotel?
I liked Hotmen in the noughties. Low grade but nice. Arab mixes.

Yes it is. Hotel Mercure Cikini is in a nice location. Very central. Good restaurants close by. Lara Djongrang, Tugu kunstkring paleis. Hobby wise, it is next to Hotel Menteng 2, in walking distance. Used to be a happening place for bar pick-ups. Low grade though, but not so sure how it is nowadays, much has changed in recent years.
