There is no way to store the huge amounts of electricity required to power a first world country. It's not like food. You can't have 12 hours of great supply and store the excess. Therefore the energy supply needs to be stable and steady 24/7, or have what is called inertia.

The problem with this green hippy enviro-wacko shit is that it is not stable. Sometimes the wind blows, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the sun shines, sometimes it doesn't. These huge fluctuations can fuck up the entire system and cause it to entirely shut down, which is exactly what happened in Great Britain in August 2019 when half the country went into blackout.

To avoid that, there needs to be a stable power supply (fossil fuel or nuclear) running at all times, in case the hippy shit collapses. So all those solar panels and windmills (all of which cost huge amounts of wealth, energy and pollution to produce, and do not last very long) are basically just for show, as there always needs to be serious power generation behind them.

The news says the California port situation is caused by a driver shortage.

Not so fast: It is in part caused by a California Truck Ban which says all trucks must be 2011 or newer and a law called AB 5 which prohibits Owner Operators.

Traditionally the ports have been served by Owner Operators (non union). California has now banned Owner Operators.

Long term, truckers in California are not investing in new trucks because California has a law that makes them illegal in 2035. The requirement is to purchase electric trucks which do not exist.

Um...if drivers had plenty of the "required" trucks to transport the goods as of March 2020, what happened to them since then? Did they sell them to pound into scrap and donate the money to the MAGA sucker fund raisers?
