And it is not confirmation bias when the conclusion that the COVID vaccines are effective when it is backed by the results of a number of double blind tests with the results vetted by experts in the field. Your argument that Dr Fauci and the rest catching COVID despite having 4 shots of the vaccine is proof that the vaccines do not work makes me wonder do you understand basic immunology? What do you expect a vaccine developed against the original strain of COVID can do against a very mutated strain? As for your question about a pandemic amongst the unvaccinated, I need again to ask: do you understand the dynamics of a infectious disease? The situation 2 years ago where people have no immunity against COVID is very different from the situation today where most people have immunity? Also, it is silly to talk about "a pandemic of the unvaccinated" when the vaccinated and the unvaccinated are not segregated, and with the large number of people who have immunity, the unvaccinated have a free ride because of herd immunity.
[Deleted by Admin]. In a complex system, there is going to be a lot of different moving parts and at any point in time, it is not hard to find data that goes against the expectation. What matters is the preponderance of data. And please don't point to imaginary things like "predictions of global warming have been shelved until 2050" and "a slight change in the earth's axis" to confuse and distract from the main issue. What matters is what is actually happening: record temperatures are being made every year; glaciers are getting smaller; and weather all over the world is getting more extreme.

QUOTE=GDreams;2736337]You have to laugh at the indignation of all the wingers about student debt. When Trump gave $50 be to bail farmers out of his trade war fiasco there was not one amongst them criticising him. $50 be not congressional approval just handed out with the promise of vote for me.
You forgot to mention that China paid the $50 B with tariffs that Trump imposed on China. Pleas tell me that Biden will not raise taxes on everyone to pay for this stupidity of loan forgiveness.

Posts: 1068Billionaire's aren't classified as failures
QUOTE=Villainy;273641 Tom Brady has an incomparable record of success, Trump not at all. You can't equate excellence with mediocrity.
Universally recognized? As what? The King of Bankruptcy Court.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is a euphemism used to recast the word Reality. So call it 'fake news' or 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' but the reality is that Trump has been a consistant failure in his business efforts.
Using words like 'clear', 'obvious' and 'acknowledged' are a weak attempt used by someone who can't find factual sources to support their arguments.
Well, Hillary did release her medical records or at least her Doctor did and gave summaries of her conditions. So where was Donny with his tax returns? Hmmm who had something to hide??

You mean that Donald didn't want people to see that he was a complete failure and his income tax returns would demonstrate that fact. Isn't that what he was afraid of?
Billionaire's are not classified as failures. On the other hand Biden is classified as a failure plus all the students that did not pay off their student loans are classified as failures. Pretty much every left wing liberal is a failure. Just wanted to clarify the facts.

The SARS-CoV-2 virus is different from the flu virus in that it can't mutate as fast as the flu does and it mutates differently as well. Read the following (if the words aren't too bigly for you) to find out why. But the upshot is that SARS-CoV-2 mutates about once every 11 days. Sometimes the mutation is beneficial to the virus and sometimes it isn't. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/s...es-how-quickly.
But somehow you feel that the current vaccine (which was developed for the variant that existed in March 2020) being less effective today is somehow the vaccine's fault. If the vaccine is as ineffective as you claim, why not blame the guy who was large and in charge in March, 2020. The great (according to you), infallible (according to you) one-term, twice-impeached former guy. Yep, the Mango Mussolini is the one to blame for whatever perceived ineffectiveness the vaccine has for you.
Vaccines do one thing and one thing only. They prime one's immune system to recognize an invader and the body reacts to repel that invader. That's all a vaccine does. No more, no less. Every freaking virus on the planet mutates differently and at a different rate, yet you somehow believe that COVID vaccine is the only one that is ineffective. Gee, let's see. I saw an ad for Shingrix the other day on the tube. It detailed what it did (priming one's immune system) and how effective it was (at best 90% The flu vaccine isn't all that effective either since the flu mutates differently and rapidly and flu vaccine manufacturers need to guess which strain of the virus will pop up this year in enough time to get the vaccine manufactured in quantity. https://globalhealth.duke.edu/news/w...e-can-fight-it.
Give your vaccine diatribes a rest, OK? We're all tired of it and of your inane rantings. Why not try to convince us that the world is flat or that the moon is made of green cheese.

Most Americans support student loan forgiveness, poll finds
https://thehill.com/changing-america...ss-poll-finds/
A recent national poll conducted by progressive think tank Data for Progress just before Bidens announcement found 60 percent of 1,425 respondents agreed the federal government should eliminate all or some student loan debt for every borrower, compared to 34 percent who said the government should not forgive the loans and 6 percent who said they didnt know. The poll was conducted Aug. 19-21 online and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Barre Seid, Secretive Tycoon Gives Record $1. 6 Billion to Fund GOP Takeover of the Courts.
https://www.yahoo.com/now/barre-seid...200922296.html
ProPublica and The Lever have revealed how Barre Seid, a 90-year-old conservative industrialist from Chicago, has given his fortune to a "nonprofit" run by Leonard LEO, the co-chair of the Federalist Society.
"You know, we believe its the biggest-ever donation to a politically oriented dark money group in U.S. history".
LEO has played a key role in helping Republicans reshape the federal judiciary. He's been described as Donald Trump's "Supreme Court whisperer" for his role in pushing for the nomination of Justices Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch.
Koch brothers, DeVos/Prince families, Uihleins family, Robert Mercer and now Barre Seid (off the top of my head). Meanwhile, the only one on the left that the right-wing/alt-right can point to is George Soros.
Some members (on the right/alt-right) may want to re-think their views, on which political party (if we can even call the QOP/GOP a political party anymore), is it exactly that is corrupting democracy, SCOTUS and POTUS with their money.
