And what they knew was that prior coronaviruses spread by touching a contaminated surface and then touching your face. Therefore, since prior coronavirus outbreaks were not airborne, they advocated for disinfecting surfaces, disinfecting the surfaces of groceries, for washing your hands after touching a potentially infected surface, never touching your face and things like that. Because those measures work on a coronavirus that behaves as medical professionals thought it would. I clearly remember watching a video early on in the pandemic about how you were supposed to wipe down groceries. It wasn't the video that followed but any sane person can get the idea. You can always tell when the left have been proven wrong about something, because it vanishes from their fake news.
