Chris P, the entire future of the Democratic party is invested in "science". "Science" is when a guy who is clearly a pro-Democrat bureaucrat like Fauci commands 99.99% of the grant money and dictates to scientists what is legit and not. Fauci did not want to chase down infections in the wild as they happened. He wanted to create them in a lab and play around with them. If you thought that was dangerous or wrong, you were shunned and got no money.

I have a feeling the same thing is going on with climate change / global warming. If you do not do studies supporting climate change, you get no grant money.

Thing is that I read this great piece on global warming / climate change by a somewhat neutral observer, and it speaks volumes about how climate change is not science but politics.

In 1999, my friend Henry Lamb mentioned that he had been attending UN meetings. I thought it sounded intriguing and asked for details. After all, reading about an organization is one thing; actually attending its meetings is another. And because I was so enthused, Henry offered to get me in to the Kyoto accord meetings in Bonn, Germany. (The official name was COP 5.)

When I arrived at the specified place and time, I found a magnificent hotel, surrounded by hundreds of soldiers and policemen. Everything was absolutely first class. To this day I don't think I've seen its equal in terms of high-end, well-run meetings. Everything was pristine; every need had been considered and addressed in advance.

The attendees, as you might suspect, were all well-dressed, and all appeared to be feeling special about attending such impressive, elite meetings. I, on the other hand, had a bit of a Groucho Marx moment: "I can't believe they let me into this place."

Once I started circulating, however, it became clear that "first class" extended no further than the physical layer. The presenters dressed well and tried to use impressive words; their PowerPoint slides were perfect, but the actual content was less than pedestrian.

I heard one speech where the speaker said that vast areas of her home country would be entirely underwater in ten years (which would have been 2009) and that every soul living there would be dead. As evidence, she referred to impressive names and organizations, who had "said so."

And that was the way the whole conference went. I kept thinking that there had to be someone there who was competent, that perhaps they were having the real meetings in some back room somewhere. If so, I never found them, and I had what appeared to be free run of the place.

As best I could tell, nearly every person at this event was someone making a living from global warming, or else some official's son, daughter, brother-in-law, or cousin. I found none that had any notable substance. They were flying first class, staying at magnificent hotels, eating in the finest restaurants, and, as I later learned, hiring the best prostitutes and snorting the best drugs. And they were doing it all on some government's tab..

Unfortunately for you, you forgot the only true thing that trump ever tweeted: ""Leadership: Whatever happens, you're responsible. If it doesn't happen, you're responsible."

So using trump's own metric, he is responsible for everything that happened during his one term in office. Unless, of course, you prefer to admit that he wasn't a leader. There are only two choices here. Either trump is responsible or he wasn't a leader.

Did 500,000+ people die of COVID when the orange fruitcake was president? Yes. Therefore trump is responsible.

Did Mexico fail to pay for 'the wall'? Yes. Therefore trump is responsible.

Did Republicans fail to cancel the ACA? Yes. Therefore trump is responsible.

Did rioters storm the capitol on January 6th? Yes. Therefore trump is responsible.

The House didn't "try" to Impeach Trump, they Impeached Trump. Twice.

Three USA Presidents have been Impeached; Andrew Johnson, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump (twice). None of them were convicted by the Senate.

Does that mean Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton also were not Impeached? Of course, they were. And so was Trump. Twice.

Oh, also, among many, many other things, Obama's inauguration crowd was much bigger than Trump's, the 2020 election was won fair and square by Biden in a landslide just as Team Trump feared he would going back to at least 2017 and the mob of America-hating Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021 were Anti-American insurrectionists trying to overthrow American democracy, instigated by Trump based on one of his 30,000+ lies as the 1 term so-called potus, and not "patriotic tourists" taking in the sights in Washington D.C.

Once again Canada shows how clueless he is. Trump was impeached twice, once for withholding approved aid to pressure Ukraine into carrying out an investigation into Hunter Biden which was clearly for his personal gain and once for inciting the violence that occurred on Jan 6. Both times did the spineless Senate Republicans refuse to uphold the grievances though on the second case there were 7 that supported a conviction. No Russia in any of this apart from all the disinformation about Hunter Biden. We all know he is guilty but there is no longer in honour in the Republican party. I don't disagree with you as your point is well taken. A poll of 1000 people taken in New York would be drastically different than a poll of 1000 from Wyoming. I for sure don't trust anything CNN says as fact or the truth but I thought all the democrats believe CNN for everything. I got vaccinated in a big city at Walgreens. When I was eligible I went online and in our area there were no appointments available every day but in the area of blacks and Hispanics there were 15-17 appointments available every day of the week. This tells me the blacks and Hispanics were not getting vaccinated. When I got mine there were a few Hispanics but no blacks for my first shot and then my second shot. This also led me to believe blacks were not getting vaccinated.

This is the opinion of the far left media. When you get your vaccine it asked your race but none of the vaccinating facilities asked your political affiliation. When I got vaccinated the did not ask me if I was a Republican or a Socialist.

The numbers are not clear that Biden supporters have received more vaccinations than Trump supporters. The numbers are only clear that Blacks are resisting vaccinations.

If you read the post properly, it is quite clear that the polls were not conducted at "vaccinating facilities". It states that it was a Marist Poll, and that people were asked if they had been vaxxed.

Is Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the-and. Why. , the most honest Democrat in Washington? At least as far as the current border crisis goes the answer to that question increasingly seems to be yes.

The progressive darling's spat with embattled Vice President Kamala Harris last week was instructive. Harris made a speech in Guatemala telling migrants not to come to the United States. AOC clapped back, as is so often her won't, asking who are we to tell denizens of Central American countries we meddled with not to seek refuge in our nation.

So which is the true policy of the Democrats? Is it "Don't come" or is it come on in?

Let's look back to a June 2019 Democratic presidential primary debate. At that time, every candidate, including Biden and Harris was asked if they support free health care for people in the country illegally. Every one of them snapped their arms up in the affirmative, except for the current president; he kind of half raised his hand as if he wanted to make a more nuanced point. It was a microcosm of liberal immigration policy itself.

AOC Calls Harris' immigration comments 'disappointing' as VP warns migrants 'do not come'.

The clear message was that the Zeitgeist of the party was on the side of open borders with swag bags full of taxpayer-funded goodies. It was only Biden, who we are supposed to believe is some kind of old school moderate that at least pretended to have reservations. But that is a minority position now, and after all it was Free Heath Care Harris who the administration put in charge of stemming the flow of illegal migrants.

As the number of illegal border crossings surges to levels not seen in decades the proof of the president's priorities is in the pudding. Whatever policy Biden might want to pursue on the Mexican border, and who knows what that is, the direct result has been a massive influx of migrants straining the resources of border protection agencies and the patience of Americans who live there.

Democrats want open borders. Kamala Harris knows it, AOC knows it, and the American people know it. So let's knock it off with Biden's pretend concern over the overrun border and talk like adults in the real world.

Given all of this isn't it clear now that AOC's version of dealing with illegal immigration is far closer to current Democrat orthodoxy than Harris' tepid and limp message of "Don't come?

Harris won't even visit the border but instead insists we must focus on "root causes. " If the crisis can't be solved until Guatemala and Honduras have marvelous functioning governments and economies then the American people are going to be waiting quite a long time indeed.

The advantage to Ocasio-Cortez saying the quiet part out loud on immigration is that at least it can be a place to begin on negotiations.

Her Ellis Island era style approach to immigration that would let almost anyone enter the USA Can be met with reasonable questions about entitlements. Guest worker programs and the like can be discussed.

The Biden policy cannot be negotiated because there is no Biden policy. Instead there is status quo that floods the border with no real plans for the future.

Nobody believes that Biden or Harris have even the slightest intention of getting tough on the border.

Make that the policy of the Democratic Party so the country can have a real conversation about an issue that stretches back decades.

If AOC has real answers, even if they are the wrong ones, then she is the Democrat we should paying attention to in dealing with the border crisis.

Are you saying all the black communities are all Trump supporters? I thought all white people were racist and so therefore they are Trump supporters. Why are these racist white people getting the vaccines before the black communities?

During the meantime I am just loving the stories of anti-vaxxers who were anti-maskers, but have reversed their position on masks because of concerns that they may breathe in vaxxed air. The polls are showing a 53% approval rating for Biden, and he has never been below 52%. Why do the majority of Americans not "reailse" they are being hurt? Since Jan 20th, CV cases are down 93% and deaths, by 92%. Yup! No doubt about it. Biden really is hurting Americans. Especially Funeral Homes.
