But who originally proposed the $2000 figure? Yep. Donnie the Dumbass did. https://www.vox.com/2020/12/23/22197...timulus-checks.
Agreed again. Trump and Pelosi were pushing for $2000. Some Senate Republicans, like Democratic economist Larry Summers, saw the writing on the wall. Trump and Pelosi compromised with McConnell at $600. Trump's a populist who's going to do whatever he thinks will get him the most votes. Like I said, in his heart, I think he swings more blue than red. At one time he said he didn't have a problem with partial birth abortion, and proposed a Bernie Sanders / Elizabeth Warren wealth tax.

My PredictIt bets on Democratic candidates and that Party's results from the midterms are looking pretty good.

Even though my bets that TrumpShit would get indicted by September 1st were lost.

Do you have any clue whatsoever of the requirements of applying for asylum? No, you don't.

Otherwise, you would realize that asylum seekers must enter the US at a normal POE and once they have applied for asylum, they are automatically given protected status. That something that FUX Snooze and rightwingnut media never mention and Repubs never bother to investigate. I would post a link but even though it is a government website, you would just idiotically call it "fake news". But go ahead and do an internet search. You won't, of course, but that's your problem.

Add to the above that virtually all of the families that were transported were lied to and were told that they would have jobs and housing provided. Of course, you believe (I won't use the word think because that'd be an impossible task) that lying is perfectly OK. After all, you believed every single one of Donnie the Dumbass' lies for 6+ years.

Add to the above that many of the folks who were transported had "court dates" as early as Monday and as far away as Texas. So, according to you, it was just fine that 50 folks were shipped to Martha's Vineyard without the funds to get them back to where they needed to be for their court dates.

This was a publicity stunt and anybody with a functional brain should know it. You don't, of course. These folks were set up for failure by two QOP governors who are dumber than the crap my cat just took. The sad thing is that will never see this stunt for what it is.

You seem to think that spending taxpayer money on this BS is perfectly OK.

You see to think that flying them there without notifying Martha's Vineyard is perfectly OK.

I wonder what you'd think if 50 of the morons who took part in the January 6th insurrection were treated like the 50 were. Well, I know what you'd think.

Larry Summers, the most influential Democratic Party economist of the last 30 years, did his damnedest to keep the bill from being passed, but Biden, Pelosi, Schumer et al wouldn't listen. This article is from February 5, 2021, over a month before the bill was passed:

"Larry Summers, the top economic adviser to former President Obama, warned in an op-ed on Friday that President Biden's proposed COVID-19 relief package is too big and could overheat the economy.

Summers, the Treasury secretary under former President Clinton, wrote in The Washington Post that the proposed $1. 9 trillion stimulus could ignite inflationary pressures "of a kind we have not seen in a generation. ".

He said the risk of inflation could have "consequences for the dollar and financial stability. ".

"Stimulus measures of the magnitude contemplated are steps into the unknown," Summers wrote. ".

    https://thehill.com/policy/finance/5...us-is-too-big/

Here's CPI inflation before and after the American Rescue Plan (ARP) was passed:

2/2021:1.7% (month before ARP was passed).

3/2021:2.6% (Bill was passed on March 11, and checks were being direct deposited to some Americans' accounts within 24 hours).

4/2021:4.2% (Disbursement of funds from ARP continued).

1/2022:7.5% (This was a month before the Russian invasion of Ukraine).

As to your belief that every other country experienced the same kind of inflation, here's YoY CPI inflation for various countries on 4/2021, after the ARP checks had hit. Australia is 3/2021, because it reports quarterly.

    USA 4.2%.

    Australia 1.1%.

    Japan -1.1%.

    Switzerland 0.3%.

    Singapore 2.1%.

    Hong Kong 0.8%.

    UK 0.7%.

    EU 1.6%.

I put Switzerland, Hong Kong and Singapore in there because, like the USA, they have smaller government spending as a % of GDP than other developed countries. I have no idea what kind of money they spent on COVID stimulus but figure it was probably less than, say, the EU and UK.

Kamala Harris Declares Crisis At The Border Around Her Property

Washington DC — The situation of migrants being transported throughout the United States escalated even further today as Vice President Kamala Harris spoke to the media and officially declared a crisis at the border surrounding her residence in Washington, the. See.

There is now a serious border crisis. Not at our southern border, which is completely secure. I'm referring to the border around my own property, Vice President Harris said in her statement. My home is now under siege, surrounded by foreign nationals attempting to circumvent our laws and invade my estate. This is simply unacceptable and must be addressed.

The Vice President has already ensured the high-security fence around her home is in good condition and has instructed her Secret Service detail to perform routine, armed patrols of the property's perimeter to maintain strict border security from the busloads of migrants being dropped off outside.

When asked about allegations of hypocrisy regarding declaring a border crisis at her home while saying the nation's southern border is secure, the Vice President had this to say: "We understand that time and space are things that cannot be understood. To move forward, we look to the past and hold onto the hope for tomorrow. We have knowledge that isn't knowable, and we know that. Now get these people away from my house. ".

At publishing time, the Vice President's staff was already working on a plan to have the bused migrants removed from the area surrounding her residence and transported back to small, ill-equipped towns along the southern border. When asked why border towns should be expected to withstand the ongoing onslaught of migrants, Harris simply threw her head back and cackled maniacally before telling the press that addressing the border problems is not the job of the Border Czar. . .
