As long as Trump was willing to dangle and deny USA military support for budding democracy Ukraine unless its president fabricated dirt on his political opponents, clearly demonstrated indifference to his or any spread of authoritarian dictatorships to prevail over democracies and help him to dismantle the Western Alliance, there was very little work Putin needed to apply to the effort rather than simply wait for Trump and his fellow Repubs to deliver him Ukraine and anything else he wanted on a silver platter.
No so now that he is up against Biden.

Biden created more jobs in those 12 months than the three previous Repub so-called potus' did in their entire presidencies combined. Yep, one of them was Trump.
Biden reduced the unemployment rate to 3.9% from the double digits he inherited from Trump faster than anyone in history.
Biden's first year-over-year real GDP growth is on track to be well in the range Trump predicted his $2. 5+ Trillion waste of money one and only significant economic legislation would produce but failed to by half for even one of his pre Trump's Pandemic years.
Despite Trump's Pandemic Supply Chain Destruction Inflation, shipping and retail reps called this past Christmas under Biden the best holiday season ever!
Biden's first year stock market recovery from Trump's 2nd Bear Market decline in just one horrible term puts him at the top of the list of Presidents' annual average returns in the market. The gain seen just from his landslide victory over Trump to his inauguration alone was one of the greatest of all time and that isn't even included inhis 1st year record.
All thanks to Biden action and passed legislation, nothing to do with a so-called potus playing golf and sitting on the pot tweeting through 80% of his twice Impeached one miserable term.
Oh, and Biden is rebuilding the Western Alliance / NATO to strengthen and spread democracy around the world that Trump spent 4 years trying to dismantle at the behest of his Puppet Master Putin. Which, obviously, is really pissing off Putin after getting his ass licked by Trump for 4 years.
Naturally, Repubs would hate those Biden results in his first 12 months.

The 2 more likely outcomes, however, are either 1) Putin invades or 2) the West (Biden) makes significant concessions so a Russian invasion is not necessary IE the installation of a "puppet" regime and an end of Ukrainian sovereignty. Notice the proper use of the word "puppet".
Like I said, we will see how this crises unfolds. The interesting point in your statement is that Putin "will eventually back down and frame it as a victory for the internal consumption" because it leaves room in the American Left's internal propaganda machine to score anything short of an invasion as a victory for Uncle Joe. But sovereignty and independence is a verifiable state of affairs. They can not be spinned, although if the situation calls for it, I am sure that the American Left will try. And that is the big difference between the Left and the rest of us. If Joe Biden actually stops an invasion or the political take over of the Ukraine I will be surprised like all hell, but I will admit Uncle Joe did good. If the opposite occurs we all know you and your Party will never admit the failure / blunder. You can bet on it.

The broad USA market as measured by the S&P 500 or, better, the Wilshire Total Market 5000 closed today down only about 7% or 8% from its all-time record high close. That isn't even enough to be considered a health-restoring "Correction" yet, which is typically when it is down 10% or more from its recent all-time high close while a Bear Market decline is 20% or more.
We are not even halfway to a Bear Market decline or even tip-toeing into a health-restoring "Correction" territory yet. Biden's first year saw some 70 new all-time record high closes and Biden's stock market appears to be stubbornly resistant to even approaching halfway to a Bear Market level.
My god, you must have been having heart attacks when the stock market plunged into two Bear Market declines under "great again" Trump, one every two years of his failed presidency. I suppose that was because of Trump's fabulous foreign policy agenda and results throughout his term, so much better than Biden's, right?

Putin is a thug and a player. He played Trump for 4 years like a flute. Now that he can't get his way like before, he's muddying the waters again, pushing as hard as the world would allow him before backing down eventually. And I believe he will eventually back down and frame it as a victory for the internal consumption.

I could go on and on and on about Trump caressing Putin's balls, and I'm perfectly prepared to back all the above and then some with reliable sources.
And often with Trump's own words because that's what degenerates do. They blurb.
But just to be clear, we're talking about THE SAME DUDE, correct?

For all of the trumpers, there are 3 main reasons why gasoline prices are up.
1. Demand is up as Americans take to the road again;.
2. Hurricane Ida slowed down US oil production and refining; and.
3. Energy markets around the world are in a crunch.
It is all here in this article https://businessinsider.mx/why-are-g...-10/?r=US&IR=T But, hey, it is "Business Insider" so what do they know. They must be fake news, right? After all, Tucker "Nobody in their right mind would believe anything I say" Carlson told you to blame Biden so that's what you do. But the one-term, twice-impeached former guy said that he likes his supporters dumb so you and the rest of the fascists oblige.
