Steyn is a brilliant commentator. Used to be a guest host for Rush and regular guest on Tucker Carlson (the #1 rated show in news) and now has his own gig in Britain. Kinda sad that the best news comes not from the land of the free but from Britain's GB News and also Sky News Australia, especially now that Fox has cucked (Tucker and Laura Ingraham aside), but oh well.

Here's what you guys don't get. The Mango Mussolini can not simply issue a "proclamation" and say that 'everything I want to declassify is hereby declassified'. Can't happen.

Outside of nuclear secrets and the location of spies, that is exactly what a Supreme Court case said, but it is a distraction. This has not been about charging Trump with a crime but retrieval of documents embarrassing to the FBI, Obama, and Biden.

What most Republicans find distasteful is the FBI raid was authorized by a hack judge. What bothers me is the warrant was illegal. A warrant has to be limited in time, place, and scope, and this warrant was not. It also was not signed by a neutral party. The magistrate who signed the warrant already recused himself from a Trump case and by his own admission and was not neutral.

Thing is that the warrant being illegal will not be judged as such unless there is a criminal case, and there will not be. If there were a real judge versus a partisan hack, the warrant would have been limited to the place the documents were kept and limited to just the supposedly classified documents, and there would have been no reason to seal anything outside of the content of the classified documents.

The nuclear secrets bullshit not only has been shot down by Trump but was just an excuse floated by the FBI to say Trump cannot declassify everything. Waiting almost two years to retrieve nuclear secrets is beyond dumb. Trump is also saying release everything because the documents are embarrassing to the FBI, Obama, and Biden.

IMO the 4th amendment is really the most important amendment in the constitution. It means your stuff is your stuff, and it says the government cannot kill you as you own your body. It places limits on searches and seizures.

Being a Trump hating Dem, that is all you care about, getting Trump. You are too clueless to see how we do not even have a 4th amendment with these general warrants and hack judges. The police / FBI can raid anyone's home and find something illegal, and if they do not find something, they can plant whatever they want. The FBI even took Trump's passport.

I think a lot of Republicans were on the fence with Trump but now they are not. You are no longer voting for Trump but against the FBI and for the Constitution. After this raid, he will be the 2024 nominee.

General warrants and biased judges are how you get a dictatorship and you do not care about that PVM. You think a one party dictatorship with Democrats in charge would be great. You can quote whatever expert you want PVM, but this is the road to dictatorship and it needs to be stopped.

Whatever was in those documents that was embarrassing, the FBI just embarrassed themselves even more with this raid. Taibbi is right. The FBI did the impossible. They turned Trump into a victim.

You need to know that Washington is essentially two states, as is Oregon. The two "halves" are divided by the Cascade Mountains. The western parts of both states are both very liberal.
