Specifically, by analyzing unemployment rates around the peak of the last five USA Recessions, I find that unemployment rates reach their lowest point around 12 months before a recession starts.

I think 12 months is a bit too long.

" Obama made this false claim repeatedly as he promoted his signature piece of legislation: the "Affordable Care Act.".

First of all, the "millions of Americans" who were sent cancellation letters got them from their employers, who were the actual holders of those insurance policies and not the employee. The employers were the ones who "didn't like" the previous policies they held and much preferred what was on offer through the ACA. Too subtle for most wingers, I know.

Second, if your lord and savior Trump and his Repub House and Repub Senate didn't like the Affordable Care Act / Obamacare, they had two years of golfing to repeal it and replace it with "something terrific", repeal and replace it with something shitty or repeal it and replace it with nothing at all and leave the massively expensive policy to prevail of giving any and all medical treatment to anyone and everyone, insured or not, paid for or free, USA citizen or not, legal or illegal immigrant in our hospital emergency rooms as was signed into law by Ronald Reagan in 1986.
