Their cases and deaths per day have gone down significantly this week compared to last week. It maybe due to the test vaccine and herd immunity.

With the high infection rate in BR they are getting many test vaccines to see if the vaccines work. This might make BR recover faster than most others.

Around 6 vaccines are now in the final phase of testing. Who would get one just to get back in to mongering? The main problem is you won't know if you got the placebo.

Once approved, unless you are on the high risk or special people list, probably have to wait until later next year to get one.

This is a very good topic these days.

Earlier this week, I saw a map of Brazil with the coronavirus cases and deaths by state. (It may have been on the NBC News website, but I don't remember exactly.) The map showed that there are two torrid spots in Brazil for the virus. One is the two largest cities, Sao Paul and Rio. The other is Manaus including the surrounding Amazon area. It is seriously epidemic there. I feel the lackluster response by the federal government is a form of attempted genocide.

The virus is almost non-existent in the south, according to this map. Cities like Florianapolis and the states of Catarina, Mata Grosso do Sul, etc. have per capita rates of cases and deaths that are less than one per thousand.

I prefer the Northeast like Bahia state. That state, as well as Pernambuco (Recife) and the states with Fortaleza (Ceara? And Sao Luis, have moderate rates of the virus. Much less than the hot spots but much more than the cold spots.

I read that the largest cities are being hit hard for the same reason as New York was. Wealthy Brazilians returned from Europe infected, then got sick and infected other Brazilians in the two cities where they lived. I have not read how the virus got to the Amazon. I have read recently that poorer Brazilians have given up on the Federal government and are developing ways to fend for themselves.

You are right, Cane, that there is other nonsense going on in Brazil that makes it less attractive as a destination. Bolsonaro is continuing to run Brazil deep into the ground. And he is there until at least 2022!

And how much do they charge for it and is it private or government testing site. How fast the results are obtained?

Some Drogasil pharmacies have a pharmacist perform STD tests, avg about 100 R each takes about 15 min. Most major pharmacies sells at home HIV rapid test for 120 R.

Labs requires a doctor to order it.

Public labs are free but forget about being able to get one these days.
