I think there is Zero point in trying to "fake" a facebook lfe. II just mean open an account in a pseudo name, upload a few of your pics and bio detail and use that to all all your Phil gfs No girl has ever complained that maybe this isn't your real name or where are all your British friends etc. They just want to see a few pics that's all

If all you want is to share photos.. I think it would be better off to email them than present a fake facebook. I did have a fake facebook and actually it was reasonably well presented. With 20 photos. 100 friends, some status messages and social games. Yet it was still obvious its fake. One girl flat out called me on it. Within 5 minutes of adding me she said. This isn't your real facebook account, where is your real facebook?. There is no good comeback to it, all excuses are totally lame. Most girls will not make a comment but they still understand you are hiding your real facebook account from them.

The flip side of this is that some girls will also refuse to add you to their real facebook.. the reason is almost always that they are "In A Relationship with " [some filipino guy] or [some foreign cash cow] in the said account.. the excuses I heard for why they cant add me to their real facebook range from lame to hilarious.. the latest girl I tried to add said "my ex-bf hijacked my account and I dont have access to it anymore" :D

I am NOT a "legal beagle" by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, I have a fake FB account too!

I think there is a major difference between a "fake" FB account and a deliberate falsification of an airline ticket to mislead airline clerks (and possibly immigration too) but maybe it is just a question of degree.

As most of you will be aware Facebook has now almost completely displaced Friendster as the preferred photo storage oriented social network. Many of the girls also use it as a chat platform mainly with their friends.

Personally I find Facebook chat terrible to use. The new YM allows you to link with your Facebook account so that your facebook friends show up on your YM and can be chatted to through the YM system which is much more user friendly. Sadly some of the YM features are disabled (such as renaming contacts and video chat) on the other hand clicking on the profile takes you straight through to her facebook profile.

As previously discussed revealing your genuine Facebook account may not be smart, so I personally have trampled through Facebook's terms of agreement (hope this doesn't generate yet more condemnation from the legal beagles out there RK?) and set up a dedicated phils mongering account.

It is not as complicated as it sounds. Chatting does not mean deep philosophical discussians. With some "how are yous" or "I miss yous" you can have a lot of success.

I moved from PI to Bangkok and only last week moved to Saigon. For my money, it's very difficult to beat Filipinas.

In fact, I shall re-enlist in the Church of Rome and begin attending Sunday Mass faithfully since I know that's where I can find the best Filipina overseas workers.

In the UAE I would always take the girl to church as while I never partake, there was always a few cuties coming out who i could try and 'charm'. As mass would take a long time it gave me plenty of time for my 'worship'. Excellent idea P and good luck in Vietnam

When I lived in the PI, I had lots of time; and although I continued to use DIA, I also liked the chase. Believe me, if you spend any amount of time in PI (or at least Cebu and Davao, where my personal experience was), you will not want for girlfriends.

I guess I am at the opposite end of the spectrum to Matius. I really don't like bars. I agree that if quantity and choice of looks / ease of access is what you are after bars are the way to go. But to me it seems a bit akin to the difference between buying fish at a supermarket and going out with a rod and line and catching for yourself.

Yes the supermarket offers a huge range of fish all easy to get just hand over the money and take your choice, but the taste can be abit "farmed" . Going fishing is far less productive but thats not the point if you enjoy the experience of fishing itself.

I understand Matius does plenty of hunting in the malls etc. Personally I find this more challenging than the dating sites but maybe its because I'm not so confident and am relatively PC literate.

I'm with you on this, GL. In fact, I've shared that exact same fishing metaphor with many fellow mongers who feel as Matius does.

But please, everyone, don't get me wrong; I love hitting the go-go "fish market" and barfining a nice fillet of snapper just as much as anyone. But I generally find using my pole and lures to pursue DIAfish and mallfish more stimulating.

It is clear I am not a fan of the dating sites. I used them and had no end to offers, but awoke one day to realize just how much of my personal time I was wasting, sitting in front of the computer in mindless chatter. But some are addicted to electronic games and in a similar vain if it is entertainment value then by all means.

But this is a monger's site, by definition we are for the most part womanizers and fishing analogies are most appropriate. Even in response, referring to yourself you use the plural women, not finding the ONE WOMAN. And if a person is coming to PH to be a monger, then the dating sites (in my opinion), limit options and consume a great deal of time (admittedly back home), that just is not required to get volume and quality.

I agree it might be complicated cruising the Lawyer's offices to pick the right secretary or paralegal, but do know guys that cruise the hospitals picking up nurses. The mall/shop girls are easy pickings and even the bars have a fair amount of virgins if one likes a challenge. I know a guy who has picked up more than one bank teller and if you are game to go to some of the more popular Filipino hangouts, even the good girls go out with their friends to Videoke and dance bars (non-freelance type establishments).

I do get your point though, and for some they need the comfort of a couple of familiar relationships to justify their visit. Won't deny it works to a degree, just not really the most effective method by my experience. I do not agree that the screening aspect works, so many of the "bar girls" are roping in guy after guy who thinks they are semi virgins. And in many cases the guys are paying far more for that relationship than if they just paid the bf and took the girl out for the evening.

Once I hit Manila, I buy a cheapie Nokia and some load. Then I lay on my bed in the hotel and fire off a volley of texts to the, um, "winners" of the DIA/FH fishing expedition.

In the crappy old Manila airport, theres a cell phone load machine just before you get the yellow taxis. I load that and I'm texting from the taxi seeking those same winners. Maybe we; ve both scored with some (or to continue the Cricket analogy we may have bowled some of them over. Something the Aussies can't do at the moment Lolololol. Hi RK!
