i live here and work here in a government-linked position, and i don't wish to be identified on a web-site such as dia.

i do not need all the drama and tsismis (gossip) that comes with putting personal data out there for everyone.

it is also just a side-line activity to "test the water" regarding available women. if dia closed tomorrow i would still be ok. it is not my sole means of meeting potential companions.

i can well understand rk's stringent protection of his anonymity. if you live here, and work in a job with a reasonably high degree of visibility, this turns into a very small country very quickly. i would not even think about posting a profile, no matter that it's under a pseudonym as i would worry that one of the random people i might meet might turn out to be someone i know professionally, or who knows someone whom i know professionally. the inter-connections here among families and extended families and friends of extended families are complex, wide and extremely efficient in spreading tsimis. the informal intelligence apparatus here would put the cia and mi 6 to shame, and the speed with which bad news (gossip) travels is sometimes faster than the internet. deceit here is a complex web indeed.

I don't put pictures up either. Why? To me putting a picture up is a sign of desperation, that you're going to go out of your way to get a girl. I write like 1-2 sentences, now I'm not on DIA, but on a similar type platform. I have girls cam with me all the time, some will even get naked with only seeing a couple pictures of me after I decide to send them. Many click on by after they read my profile because they don't like my frankness, but a surprising number (around 20%) send a message to me (often just a Hello, or Hi but at least it indicates interest). It is only then that I respond, and I always first ask if they have read AND understood my profile. About 1/3rd drop out at this step, because they haven't read it so they reread my profile and read past the word "foreigner" in the first line and realise I am there for fun only.

I just don't get why you guys all use like the most widely used site. If I went to a small lake and saw a ton of boats fishing I would move to the next area. There are so many ways to meet girls online without using a dating site which is asking for trouble of scams and who knows what else.

Dia accounts for less then 10% of my conquests. My best looking pick ups come from elsewhere. FB for instance is great if you can get into the right circles there. DIA is just convenient I guess.

When do you discuss payment?

I don't. You will find that semi pros or pros will bring the topic on the phone or while cam chat. They won't travel if they don't think they will get what they want.

The once that don't bring it up are usually happy with cab fair up and back (although they may ask 500 peso for what is really a 100 peso up and back trip) and good time. Good time can be anything from taking them to eat out, window shopping, movies or even a nice bubble bath in the hotel. I speak to them on the phone for few minutes to see what they are like. I don't give out my room number, only hotel or place near by to meet them. What I was trying to say is that there is no point talking to them for weeks or coming up with stupid excuses to get them to your bedroom, you are better off just inviting them to meet while you are already in phils. I agree with RK, lots of crap happens on dia for which many of us sooner or latter suffer and the phone call to reassure them that you are in the county is what does the trick.
