Interesting views in these previous posts as I have exactly the same happening now.

I can't maintain chats for long even with some regulars who I met several times. Except one maybe but since some weeks all chats have faded away and I am not in the mood to start new ones.

Hope all this will have an end soon.

I have finally broken down and succumbed to one I met on a dating app from Cavite. Bottom line was I asked her to meet me on IG, and surprisingly she did. Of CA who tells everyone to limit Thanksgiving gatherings and shuts down bars, yet is cold caught sitting in a large group celebrating someone's 50th birthday indoors, no masks in one of the most expensive restaurants in the USA with a group made up of lobbyists and some of the same folks on the CA public health boards while sending his kids to private school in person yet telling the rest of the folks in person schooling is too dangerous is starting to not sit well with folks. Even in very liberal CA they are tired of his stuff. Multiply that world wide, and in the USA with Trump out of the office net year and there's no more "Bogey Man" to blame it on things will probably start to change a bit. I am sure the normal scene of how things used to be with basically supermarket service of walking in and picking up at the local bar scene will take some time to get back going, so now is the time to start laying the groundwork to make those first trips (I'm going to say by mid March) more productive by having one you've set up things with now, rather than trying to maintain something distant for a year.

Am I going to get taken to the cleaners by this one? Probably so, hell I'm still not being fully honest with her so the amount I put into it is what I am willing to write off. Don't get me wrong, not a big spender and I need to watch every dollar I spend but one thing COVID lockdowns have shown that I can get by without some of the daily spending I used to do that would also be done while I was mongering. So I say why not, I'm not expecting to sweep this lady off her feet, nor putting her nephews through trade school. A simple transaction so at least when I get there I will have one more option on the table.

The one thing I have noticed since covid is more desperation and quicker requests for financial assistance. My response always is I don't send money to people until I meet them in person. Most are understanding. Another post covid thing I have noticed is even after developing some closeness with chats on Skype or whatsapp, after a few days or weeks you run out of topics and then the chats become fewer and less often until they stop entirely. If we could plan a physical meetup it would be different but nobody knows when the trips can start again.

For some it may be desperation but for many (esp the hotties making contact with 70 yos) its word from friends that Johns are handing out cash for every sob story or tit shot she randomly downloads from the web.

I'm really struggling with maintaining conversations too. Very, very few don't end up with requests for school, medical or rent fees and as you say with no prospect of meeting for 12 months there is very little else to talk about. Doing laundry and cooking meals feature heavily. Even those that I think I have a rapport with with ask who I am when I message 2 days later and then the whole conversation has to be repeated.
