    A Filipina Promise

No doubt we have all heard a Filipina exclaim " but you promised me" many times in our lives.

For those not familiar with the Philippines (TC1 take note here) , a conversation with a Filipina can touch upon many subjects, but if any one of those subjects / words is of remote interest to said Filipina, and involves a possible gain for her, its taken to be a promise.

From a Western aspect, the words " I promise" create a binding obligation.

From a Filipina aspect the words " at some stage in the future I might possibly or ocassionally think about this " creates the perception of a promise.

In the spirit of Christmas I sent a " Mery Christmas " to all my YM fucks, both new and old. One such girl who I hadn't chatted with for over a year sent me back a " Freebie, you lied to me " reply.

And then told me I had promised her a job.

The conversation I had had with her, related to her requesting a job from me (admittedly my pants were down and she had just blown me in Sogo) and me replying along the lines of " sure I check and see if we have any vacancies "

So the next time you are said to have made a promise, ask your Filipina what her understanding of a promise is vs yours.

    Got all that TC1?

I think many of us are probably quite happy to hear this. Good luck with your new choice of country, and we hope that you will frequently inhabit the board of that country with as much enthusiasm and lack of knowledge as you have done with the Philippines.

For you life is all the same. Same room, same walls, same area code, same life. While I, like other members on ISG have roamed far and wide.

You have never sat at a barstool in the old LA Cafe (new MBC) and had fun drinking with the playful girls or strolled on a beautiful night through greenbelt in Makati and enjoyed a great meal in the company of a gorgeous young woman. You have never sat poolside at Livingstones in Bangkok. The white lights shimmering off the water and enjoyed amazing thai food in the company of the very elegant Som and a few fellow ISG'ers and our dates. You have never walked fields avenue after dark with all the adult disneyland attractions both good and bad it has to offer. You have never felt the walk of shame from the front desk girls or the secret thumbs up from the bellboys as you parade three girls up to your hotel room. You have never watched a beautiful sunset from the deck of a banca boat off the coast of Cebu with your GF after a day of island hopping.

You sir have never done any of those things.
I did all the stuff you're talking about probably while most of the guys here were still watching Bullwinkle or some similar TV show as children. Except I did it in Mexico, not the R. P. Mexico shares some similarities to the RP, but now it has become too dangerous with the drug war going on. You have never spent Christmas at Pier de la Cuesta on a pristine beach with a receding horizon and spectacular sunsets with foreigners from all over the world, while native Indian Mexicans served you a multi course dinner all freshly caught seafood, fresh meats, tortillas and tequilla, then finished with a communal pot sauna under fire of coconut shells. You, sir, make alot of assumptions and most of them are false.

What you do not seem to grasp is that I am older and I don't have time to waste on

Bad moves, so I will wait until such time as the probabilities of good success in LIVING.

In the R. P. Are apparent. I am not coming there with the intention of returning, IF I come at all. Actually, I have started to look at other countries. The women are not as friendly, but I find that friendliness of FIlipinas is mostly an illusion anyways, part of the cultural / female schtick of luring foeigners who are frequently milked dry by the inhospitable, government sanctioned climate for foreigners there.

I once had an opportunity to interview for a job with the Feds long ago. When I told them my choice would be the R. P. The Personnel Director said: Really? Most of our employees do not want to be stationed there. I think she was talking about Manila but to a lesser extent that applies to the rest of the Country as well.

I read this almost by chance, since I don't pay much attention any more to that guy's ignorance, but your post caught my eye. Hat's off to you. You've captured the essence, of these places, and your description will resonate for those of us who live the experience. By implication, you raise another valid point, which is that it's really not possible to credibly fake having been somewhere you've never been; not when a large part of your audience is comprised of guys who have been there multiple times or who actually are there. I agree. I need to write these down. My Itinerary for my next trip! LOL.

    1) Sit at a barstool in the old LA Cafe (new MBC) and have fun drinking with the playful girls.

    2) Stroll on a beautiful night through greenbelt in Makati and enjoy a great meal in the company of a gorgeous young woman.

    3) Sit poolside at Livingstones in Bangkok. The white lights shimmering off the water and enjoy amazing thai food in the company of the very elegant Som and a few fellow ISG'ers and our dates.

    6) Watch a beautiful sunset from the deck of a banca boat off the coast of Cebu with your GF after a day of island hopping.

You quoted his whole entry just to leave a smart comment. If you look next to his name in the quote, you can click and read the whole entry. It is not necessary to quote long passages.

    Thanks,

You sir have never done any of those things. I said it once and I will say it again, get your ass on a plane and go visit the Philippines for yourself then maybe you can provide information from a more informed perspective. My point is, before you give out misguided information on subjects you know very little about and have never experienced in real life, do not be so quick to dismiss others who have actually been there and done that. Many of the senior members who post here live full time in the Philippines or spend vast amounts of time there and are a huge source of good information while all you have done is chat with a few filipinas and you think you know it all.

    Girl with 2 DIA accounts

I came across this girl on DIA. Not sure she is the brightest spark because we are exchanging messages using both profiles. Anyway got chatting to her and she said she would come to my hotel and keep me company etc etc, so I asked her to send some photos. I received an email with some non-nude snaps which she had forwarded to about 8 different guys at the same time LOL!

The thing is that I don't believe many of the women who guys on this board deal with are in government or the type of business where they would absolutely need English. Not even to speak on how far they have gone in school. I was a high school French teacher in the mighty USA and I had second year French students who did not know that bonjour meant Hello. If this is the case in a first world country then why the fuck would anyone expect a third world country such as the Philippines to be different or better?

I'm surprised that you don't mention that it is also the legal language since the early 30's (following a transition period from Spanish to English that lasted about thirty years, if memory serves). It is indeed helpful when conducting business in Phil. When chasing good pussy, however, some knowledge of Tagalog can be quite useful. So good luck on your quest. BTW, when do you intend to set foot on Philippine soil?

For all that are frustrated by the lack of English these girls from the Philippines have, why don't you learn to speak Tagalog at a minimum? In my book, there is nothing more stupid than going to a foreign country and expecting them to speak you language or do things they way you are used to at home. Learn how to adapt to the environment you freely put yourself into. Don't expect the natives to adapt to you.

    IMHO.
