Hmmmmmm I would be going VERY cautiously with this one. My antennae tell me that she is setting you up for something but as you say, time will tell.

To repeat, if ever you decide to meet her and her friend in person, do so in a public place (like a mall coffee shop) and have a VERY thorough interview/discussion with them both. I have posted a few times in the general section but not here yet. I am one of the VERY few here who is looking for a long term possibly marraige. Please don't smack me in the head!

Anyways, I have been scanning the DIA website now for a few weeks and only sending a few select girls who interest me a quick note. Most get back to me and are anxious to talk and get things going immediately and usually it isn't long before I get the questions about sending them something to help support them! Well once that happens I immediately bounce them. The other day I get a unsolicited email from a girl who is upset at me for my profile and attacks me about how we "Westerners" think all filipina's are prostitutes and *****s! I never sent her mail or anything and to be truthful my profile does not really lead you to believe that is what I am looking for. Which I am not.

So after several back and forth emails over a few days, she acknoweldges that she misunderstood my profile. I get her YM address and we start chatting. BTW, this girl is very pretty, single no kids and has a job so no mention of money has come up at all. Well over the next few days we talk each day on YM and this girl really starts to loosen up with me. She lets it out that she has a GF who she has loved since 15 but now she wants a man in her life but asks me how I would feel if we were together and she wanted to share with her friend. She emails me photos of her friend and her both are very pretty girls. One is 22 the other is 24 and while she says she is not a lesbian she does say that she enjoys her friend very much too. And was afraid that I might not be accepting of her friendship and love for her friend!

At this point I am secretly jumping for joy! This is every mans dream, a woman who is open with sex and relationships with other woman! She even said that she looks at other woman all the time and wonders how they would be in bed, but is too shy to go for them. So now we are to the point of figuring out how to move things along and see if this thing will work between us. I told her upfront that it will be a long time before I was ready to marry, but would be open to a long term relationship if she was the right one and she was fine with that.

Yes I was the one who introduced Madonna. She got alot of interest and then I believe got married to the chap who runs Stripes bar in Cebu. I guess time will tell whether she has really fallen on her feet or not, she had a few pretty serious high end suitors from the US, but I think the majority of these girls lie to close the deal if someone offers marriage and stability. When I met her she waqs living in Catmon with her aged mum in a little hut and hadn't had any luck at all through the dating sites.

Interestingly I had a 18 year old American girl today. Not a typical American girl admittedly 40kg and 4ft 11in. I had invited around another 18 year old DIA girl who had paniced when I emerged from the showed and called in reinforcements in the petite shape of her friend who turned out to be born in Guam 1/4 American with a US Passport. She is well spoken with a nice accent but appears to come from a relatively rough part of town which is a bit incongruous. Given the lack of visa issues, I suspect that she will become an interesting prospect for someone in due course. She has a rather beautiful face.

Kudos to you Greg, you are one of the more proactive and useful members of ISG in that you are generous and put cute young things in the way of your fellow members as well as helping them shape their profiles. I like to think that I also am of a similar mindset although I seldom put my real finds on the line, as I imagine that you also do not. Nonetheless, it is one of the most useful and worthwhile functions of ISG, although might I suggest that it might be better that you give out contact details by PM rather than publicly, so that the poor dear doesn’t get inundated by lurkers and non-serious pervies. Just a thought although each to his own.

Its embarrassing how long I have been doing the pen pal thing. Since I was in college like 30 years ago! Cherry Blossoms came out in magazine format then, and I wrote letters.

Well about 20 years ago, still before the Internet, I flew from my duty station in Japan to Davao to meet a pen friend. All very nice, but nothing came of it. I didn't touch her (thankfully!) Ok I broke her kissing cherry, that's all!

Ok fast forward to this week. I am chatting on cam with a girl who lived in Davao and she says, "wait, did you date my sister ***? I think so" And she proceeds to relate details of that encounter 20 years ago! I did keep a little photo album of that trip, and found it and showed it to the girl. And there, in one of the family line-up pics, she says "oh that's me, the 3yo sucking my thumb" haha.

She said that when she was in college her sister let her read the letters I wrote to her. My own exp. is that the online gal targets don't work well in AC and MNL is a problem simply because of traffic.

I usually give a miss to the ones who specifically suggest marriage.

As for being honest, just be honest! "I'm looking for friends...tour guides...etc."

Afterwards, "I'm only in country for a week (or three) and no matter how much I care for you....I'll be gone / we'll be seperated..."

As for "contribution", just suggest that "I'll pay your taxi fare...". Or, "I'm on holiday and don't want to fuss about with money so please take this $$$ and you take care of OUR expenses today."

I recommend something VERY simple for a first meeting....mall food court for example. It can only get better if you do it that way.

I'm sure many folks here will have different strategies. This is what works for me. I have four now who still communicate with me after migrating to the West, so I apparently haven't created any lifelong enemies.

I'm bored myself with the la café or bar scene from AC so I was thinking going to DIA to try a new flavor.

However, I'm worried about a few things.

How to pick up, I mean those girls who advertise they are looking for someone to marry in the west, I wonder at which point I should bring up that it's likely not going to happen and that I'm willing to provide a contribution! (not easy to bring up).

Preferably before the deed as I don't want for the girl to feel abused.
