Dw1 and AV,
I will explore these areas that have I never considered before. I will do this on a business level only. I have my hunting spots and I am very comfortable with them. A lot of you hunters wonder why I don't put locations and contact information with my post, I really do get 10 times more action freebie then I do P4P. To be totally honest, I have been to the Phills 20 times in 6 years and have engaged in P4P maybe 4 or 5 times.
What I do works for me, so I guess I will not change my game. The country side has more then pretty flowers and fresh air. Forget about the tourists spots, and get out to meet the neighbors.

The Manila papers are full of political stories about Mindanao. Its not like that on the ground there. The cities & towns are quite ok.
Most of what the activity attributed to 'rebels' is just opportunistic crime by bandits in remote regions. Traveling through remote regions of ANY third world country needs to be approached with caution.
Other than that you have little to worry about.

It seems as if I have recieved bad intelligence reports from my business associates about Mindinao. I will now consider exploring these areas. I have only stayed in Makati 3 nights and Manila 1 night, so I really have not had any bad experiences. I find that I get a lot more action when I am out in the provinces, and usually end up with freebies. Lots of times I have had girls approach me when I was in the middle of business dealings, just to introduce themselves to me and wanted to talk.
Guys, thanks for setting me staright, with the correct facts.
Happy hunting

Posts: 4567I've been to Davao and CDO in Mindanao and had a wonderful time. As GE says, you'll probably find the cities much more comfortable/safer than Manila -- for a variety of reasons.

I saw the discussion about Friendster, and just had to add my 2 pesos worth.
Friendster, and sites like it (Hi5.com, Tagged.com, MySpace.com, and etc.) are great for finding lots of pics of girls from all over the world. Many of the girls on these sites show no inhibitions, and literally bare all that they have to the world. At the same time, many of them will post pictures of celebrities in the hopes that nobody will know that it is not them. As stated earlier by BB, most of these sites allow "friends" to see the activities of the person that has added them to the list. This can be both bad (i.e. all the girls seeing your actions) and good (i.e. you can also see the girls' actions) at the same time. Many will post pics of themselves with their "honey ko" and still add hundreds of obviously horny guys to their friends list. If nothing else, it's fun to look around on these sites, and maybe make some contacts for chatting on YM, MSN, and etc.. And if you happen to strike out on any given night, you might even find some of them online and willing to give you a show.
I recently (less than a month ago) setup a Tagged.com page of my own. I found a pic (from an advertisement I think) show a guy's mid-section, wearing mesh underwear, which clearly revealed his dick and balls. I posted that as my profile pic, and nothing else. It may be considered plagerism, but at least I didn't copy and post any ISG photos, as I had thought about. :D I searched for girls in the age range I like, and started requesting to be added as their friend. I now have about 160 sexy friends, and I'm adding more everyday. I'm not sure if this will help me find anyone to fuck the next time I travel to PI. But I'm having fun with it, and it is one hell of a nice board of photos to look at when I sign on! ;)

I've lived in Davao for the past five years and, because of my job, have traveled all over the region-and I've never had a single problem. Yet, I often get a gasp from Filipinos in Manila when I tell them where I live. The reaction of the average Filipino to Mindanao is based largely on total ignorance and rarely on any knowledge. The fact is,as Delbert says, Manila is a hole, and I feel much safer in Davao, where there's far less crime and violence, than I do in the country's largest city.
As to being a "Black American," I don't think that skin color would have any effect on your security. I know several black guys from the US Embassy who travel here consistently, and I've never heard them express any fears about their safety at all.
The fact is that the armed conflicts here occur and recur in fairly remote areas where tourists would have no reason to even think of going.

Del and AV,
I have never been there. I buy and export shrimp from this area through some associates. I usually stay in Naval in the Leyte province. So my advice was from genuine caution and concern, but from third party information. If you guys are very familiar with this region, I would apprieciate any information you have on shrimp and tilapia farmers.
Now I also have had a fair amount of success in Tacloban, Ormac and Biliran while walking through the markets with freebies, because these areas are really of of the beaten trail. Marvins hotel in Antipolo is where I usually stay and I have met many women when I shop for fish in the mornings at the sreet market. Wow fish and trim in the same place, how can you ask for more?
