Not to hijack the PG Chit Chat thread but in USA, the truth of an alleged libelous or slanderous statement is generally an affirmative defense. I believe there are one or two very remote exceptions to this rule but I'm not going to go try to dig up my old torts casebook to find them. Here in Philippines the 100% truth, even if witnessed by Jesus Christ, is NOT an affirmative defense. Bottom line is that you can utter a 100% truthful statement to a third party, and be charged criminally and/or sued in the civil courts. WR is probably right, that the main targets of the Cyber Libel statute will be opposing political people, but as a foreigner, I'm really going to have to bite my tongue sometimes. This statute can be painted with a very wide brush.

The guys that are prolific pic posters are a fantastic giving bunch. Their nonstop action is very entertaining to the boys back home and everywhere for that matter. Most of these guys blur the faces as do I in most cases. If you live there then it is even more important to keep a low profile because they are exposed on a daily basis to a potential backfire. Also some blurring done here is well done, the blur effect is soft and over the eyes, to me it's well done.

My only criticism would be that in many cases blurring is unnecessary w / angled shots or partial face shots.

It is much better for the viewer if there is no censorship but modern times do necessitate censoring, especially for expats in the community there. As for law enforcement and laws pertaining to photos on the net I am sure there is no repercussions to date but that could change. All the pic posters here could be targets of the authorities if things were to go in that direction. We all just assume that the freedoms we have enjoyed (all our lives) will always be available but change is moving fast and the direction is against the western male. So the jury is still out as far as posting uncensored pics here or elsewhere. There is a lot of grey area w / pics, bargirl pics, clothed pics, soft porn, xxx, there are many types of pics we enjoy. If the girl is fully clothed in a bar then for me it is alright to post unless requested otherwise. There are many types of photos. They don't have to be xxx all the time to be entertaining.

I use a small point / shoot from the department store. It has a small flip-screen on the back that flips forward so you can see yourself while taking selfies. Ladies tend to like it.

Cell phone is fine, but hard to hold still. Some of the pics you see are from the cell.

Yep bounce flash from a decent unit gives excellent results. I'm toying with trying to find a small portable slave flash for even more creative use.

As for cell phones, Sony used to makes great little cyber shot phones back in the feature phone days but these days I despair of finding a decent low light cell phone camera & gave up.

I love to travel light but I'm resigned to carrying both a decent compact & the big Canon.

That's an excellent observation and great anecdote. Just about every girl I've met here has a love of music that goes to the depth of her soul. I reckon for many music comforts them as they sit alone, bored and waiting; music seems to be their best friend.
