    Reports of Distinction

Just wanted to comment on the criteria for reports of distinction.

My feeling is that they should be reports provide outstanding information or a very clear summary of all the information that a newby might need in a particular situation.

I have seen a few reports recently recommended by the editor that really did not provide much information. There were several very long winded posts by Surfer in the Hanoi thread and a recent one by Lukaa in the Hangxhou thread.

I just think that the criteria for reports of distinction should be quite selective in order to maximise the usefullness of this special thread.

    pc novice

    hi,

being a novice to computers, it`s bad enough trying to teach myself the functionings.

however, i feel this problem: copy and paste, the 30 minute issue, is a problem.

this is robbing the forum of some quality posts, mine zipped out into ciberspace a few weeks back. very fustrating. got to put in rapid fire reports now.

fuck, how to copy and paste?

i`m sure this is an ongoing issue. one that drives us all nuts.

    just my thoughts.

    cheers

    speed13

    ===============================================

    hi speed13,

    first, to copy:

    1. click anywhere in your report.
    2. click "control-a" to highlight all of your text.
    3. click "control-c" to copy the text into the clipboard.

    to paste:

    1. click anywhere into a blank report window.
    2. click "control v" to paste your text back into the report window.

if this doesn't make sense to you, i would suggest that you call a friend who understands computers and ask him/her to show you. it takes about 2 minutes to learn how to do this.

second, i understand your comments about having a long report get lost in the flow of the thread, which is why i would suggest that in addition to your long report that you also post a short summary and a link to your long report in the reports of distinction section where it can be referred to by others.

btw, you always have the option to compose your reports in another program (i.e. wordpad, notepad, ms word) or even in your email program (gmail is great because it automatically saves your text every few minutes as an autodraft and it has a built-in spellchecker). after you've finished composing your report, you can then copy and paste it into the forum.

    thanks,

    jackson

The Member who forgot to pay his subscription

    Gentlemen,

We all know that there is at least one 'member' on the forum who has simply forgotten to pay his subscription to keep this wonderful site running and Jackson just a little less out of pocket in doing so.

Last year, I was pleased to pay for a subscription for this unknown soldier as well as one for myself. I see in the control panel that the subscription for the forgetful member is coming up in August for renewal.

May I suggest that if there is anyone who would like to pick up the subscription for the next term (there was a bug on the credit card processing engine that wouldn't allow me to do 2 x 1 year subs at the same time - so it was a 6 month membership) that they are welcome to do so? If so, please post a quick note to let me know that this has been taken care of.

If not, and I fully appreciate how busy we all are, I will be happy to continue paying for our forgetful member in the expectation that he will remember eventually and do so. I and we are amply rewarded with the information so freely shared on this forum.

    Thanks

    A Clarification...

Thanks for the tip, but I have been a paying subscriber since only a couple of days after discovering the site! Here's a clarification of what I'm talking about, since the title of the forum appears in several places on one computer when the site is open... not just at the top of the page.

For the kids at home just joining us, "01_StandardView.jpg" shows Mozilla Firefox with the International Sex Guide as the active tab. Pointed out is the large title bar that is removed when paid subscribers select "Stealth Mode".

In "02_StealthMode.jpg", you can see that the formal title in the web page is gone after entering stealth mode, but the application's title bar still reads "InternationalSexGuide - " followed by the name of the thread or subforum currently shown. The same is displayed in the tab bar (Firefox and other tabbed browsers only).

So, here's the rub. Stealth Mode makes the title marquee within the web page disappear, but leaves the two aforementioned labels intact. Thus, if someone walks into the room, and I switch tabs so as to hide where I'm reading. But "03_SwitchTabs.jpg" shows that the name of the forum is still visible in the tab bar. Not good if a significant other is looking over one's shoulder!

The other way to quickly hide the window when somebody enters the room is to minimize the window entirely. As you can see in "04_MinimizeWindow.jpg", this leaves the name of the forum visible in the taskbar. One can almost avoid this problem by using the "Autohide the taskbar" function in Windows, but if you have to open up another program while someone is watching, the name of the forum comes back into view.

The only two ways to totally avoid the name of the forum being visible when an eavesdropper glances at the screen is to:

    1. Switch tabs, and then minimize. But tabbed browsing is not available in Internet Explorer yet, as far as I know. I heard it will be implemented in the next version, however.

    2. Close out of the ISG entirely, and when the coast is clear, renavigate to the forum page you were reading before having to close the window.

This isn't really the biggest deal, I know. But I just thought that changing the displayed title to "ISG" or something not-directly-related-to-sex would keep our fellow members in the clear without having to "lose their spot" when someone enters the room who isn't meant to see it.

Like I said earlier, the eavesdropper could demand to see what was in the "ISG..." window, but that's totally out of your control. I hope this clears up any confusion you had.

Just a thought, do with it what you will. This will be the last you hear of it from me.

    Regards,

    Giggity

P.S. Sorry if these files are a little large. They're the smallest that I could get them, even after converting to grayscale and using maximum JPG compression!

    ==================================================

    Hi Giggity,

First, let me say that I appreciate your financial support.

I understand your request clearly, but I'm not removing the name of the website from the site's meta tags because that would have disastrous consequences for my search engine rankings.

    Thanks,

    Jackson

Title Bar could use more discretion.

    Hi Jackson,

Love the site. I've been perusing it for a couple months, I think, preparing for some extratouristic endeavors when I start traveling someday (hopefully soon). Trouble is that I, and I suspect a number of other members, do our reading of this site from places where other household members might not approve of this sort of reading material.

So, if somebody who don't want knowing you read this site walks into the room, the window pretty much has to be closed entirely in order to hide the fact that one is perusing this forum. Minimizing doesn't necessarily work, as there will still be a button on the taskbar reading "InternationalSexGuide..." To get around this, I simply keep two windows of Mozilla Firefox (which allows "tabbed browsing") active, and when somebody walks in, I switch tabs in the ISG window (so the title bar changes), and then switch to the other window (so nobody can see the tab). Anyone who tab-browses with Firefox should be able to make sense of that jumble of words =].

I think, however, that you can help create an easier way. Instead of having the title of the window be "InternationalSexGuide...", just replace that with "ISG..." This would allow the window to be easily hidden with a quick minimize or tab-switch, and anyone seeing "ISG..." on a label will be none the wiser.

Of course, somebody could just demand to see the window to know what "ISG" means, but somebody intrusive enough to push that hard to know a harmless acronym shouldn't really be welcome in anyone's life in the first place.

    Food for thought,

    Giggity

    ==============================================

    Hi Giggity,

I did create a way to hide the Forum's title: Just buy a subscription and then select "Stealth Mode" when viewing the forum.

    Thanks,

    Jackson

    Click on private messages.

    Click on inbox.

You will see at the top of your messages a heading that says messages with a number next to it. There is a box to the right. Click that box so that a check appears.

In the drop down menu at the bottom it says: Selected messages: Move to folder... Click on the menu and click on delete.

Am I the only one who can't figure out how to turn this forum around so the newest messages are at the bottom of the thread? I tried changing that in options, but no luck.

    Thank you.

    How About This Please

    ===============================================

    Hi El Suave,

    I appreciate your opinions.

I am the only editor here, and I take full responsibility for all decisions.

You have the title of Senior Member in recognition of your active participation in the Forum. However, I have elected to continue to moderate your reports because of your proclivity for instigating arguments with other forum members. However, I'll make you an offer: If you think my assessment of your forum personality is inaccurate, I'll put the issue up as a poll for everyone to vote, and we'll see if the other forum members agree with me or with you.

    Let me know.

    Thanks,

    Jackson
    Dear Jackson,

I certainly appreciate your graciousness and promptness when responding to members’ concerns. Moreover, I appreciate your offer.

However, and unfortunately, I must adopt a defeatist stance when presented with such an un-winnable battle. Because when Jackson says “we’ll see if the other members agree with me or with you”, this in itself clinches it for ya. I’ve no chance. And when I lose, you and all the members who dreamed of disemboweling me will gloat and savor my public demise.

I hope I’m wrong, but I won’t lie and say I don’t sense a conspiratorial undertone to your offer Jackson, maybe a desire to inflict a form of public humiliation mano. Again, I hope I’m wrong.

Fact: you never allowed me a single, non moderated post as a senior member, even at the time when my so called “proclivity” to instigate was so dormant and in oblivion.

Fact: you never gave me one chance to demonstrate that El Suave is very cognizant of the fact that with seniority comes responsibility, a duty to earn public trust, a cool head, and incentives to post super reports. I had no idea I’m still a must-moderate senior, I thought I was relegated to plain ole regular.

Jackson’s utter refusal to ever recognize, or believe that El Suave is capable of self-reformation is what put back my so called “proclivity” into remission.

How about a less egregious counteroffer? It’ll have the same public humiliation effect you seek to inflict upon me if I fail. You’ll be able to say ‘see? El Suave is a lost cause, I was right about his fiber, Jackson’s evaluations are eternal.’

It’s all being aired here anyways, you’re already on record that you awarded me senior status, but choose to moderate El Suave’s posts because or misapprehensions (duly noted mind you). Test me. Desist from moderating my reports and notate my senior status which you thus far conceded to. Undertake all the latter with merciless latitude. If El Suave sways and disappoints, you’ll gloat anyhow.

However, if El Suave is reformed and is contributing lascivious pussy reports to ISG’s members, all the greater accomplishment. Jackson would’ve buttressed his compassionate and noble traits, and disabused the masses of his rigidity and lack of a will to recognize contrition. Either way, Jackson wins.

To go for your poll in your domain means you’ll be moderating my posts till death do us part Admin. Even saints lose referendums.

    Thanks.

    El Suave,

Don't take the vote option! Your "forum personality" is entertaining, but could use a dose of lithium occasionally. (I promise not to edit this one in the morning).

Jackson Isn't Answering Emails, Airing This Out Here

    Dear Jackson,

Respectfully, your editors, monitors and you are being derelict, stomach-cancer-slow and ruinous when finally posting so called “regular” members’ reports and comments, mano.

Your editing, monitoring, NSA-orientated parsing machine is akin to a Belarusian media Gestapo. By the time you bestow your royal grace’s blessing on a regular member’s report and post it, this report’s mongering country would’ve been swallowed by an Al Gore’s global warming tide.

Ya ya ya, ISG is yours and yours only and the rest of us are mere mortals, and if we don’t like it we can … off, I hear ya. Nevertheless, how about a little humility mano, a little ‘I’ll see what I can do to render reporting timely.’

On a different note, and respectfully again, You’ve to instate some kinda statute of limitation for members on your black list, mean what you instate and adhere to it. To demote them and have’ em remain regulars till the end of time is cruel and unusual punishment Jackson mano.

Introduce some form of incentive, a carrot and a stick if you will. Award them seniority for the photos and constructive reports they have posted if they reform and adhere to comity for a certain period of time.

Last year, I personally was upgraded to senior member after I met all your promulgated requirements and been a good poster for quite sometime. But outa the blue, I was relegated/demoted to regular member without having the chance to post one report as a senior member.

We’re all god’s children darn it, we all possess the ability to become model mongering reporters once off your wrath list.

It’s your disdain for imperfect posters/reporters that’s creating recidivism.

Do annunciate, at what point are you willing to NOT overrule your editors (if they exist) and relegate reformed senior members to regular status? If never ever, and ain’t no chance in hell, then proclaim though in a clear, meaningful and locatable fashion.

Who can never ever be upgraded to senior status and post timely reports in your book, who? Once regular, then senior, then regular again members like El Suave?

    Thanks

Jackson It's time to take ISG to next level !!

I think its time to take ISG to next level. I couldn't find a thread to post my ideas, its exactly not site improvement or survey but rather taking ISG to next level.

We haven't thought of it, but the potential is unlimited in the idea im going to propose for the benefit of ISG and to its members.

    The idea is ""'ISG HOtsPots"""

yeahh...I think the time has come to take ISG to every major mongering destinations across the world. The business potential is huge.

ISG HOtsPots could be the one stop destination for every mongers dreams.

From Visa and documents processing to ISG hotel and apartments across the major mongering destinations around the world. Single window system for every ISG mongers needs.

I think I need not go any further explaining as it would be clear to any monger how he faces difficulty in getting right things at the places he chooses to go...ISG has being doing good as far as the information is concerned.....lets take that same trust to the next level of offering services to mongers.

**ISG HOtsPots** would truly be an one STOP destinations for our requirements. Like we would have an on the ground trusted and verified "ISG GUIDE" who would show us around the places, mongers only exclusive apartments , In-house ATM, currency exchange centre, internet, food and transportation ..anything and everything that a monger ever dreamt of...all being taken care by **ISG HOtsPots**

No more the struggle and frustration ..yeahh..as smooth as it gets....I think rest you can make it up as its an inherent necessity of every genuine monger an hassle free experience. and ISG HOtsPots would truly fulfill it....No more waiting in the queue, no more reservations, no security issues....no more laying on one's faith and destiny while mongering and say goodbye to anything that's called luck...with ISG HOtsPots everything will be pre-set and pre-planned as per your needs and requirements.

Now, as far as implementation is concerned and the economic sense of it all.

Hmmm..lets see...right now ISG has 151,864 registered members and alexa ranks ISG at 14,164 a leap of over 25 percent from last three months and with a page view of more than a million.

Consider if 20 percent of the registered members are on the move to every other country for mongering..thats around 30,000 members.

Now lets take for example top five destinations for mongering, Moscow, Shanghai, Bangkok, Rio, FKK Frankfurt.

Lets assume that it takes a million dollar to built or lease 50 room ISG HOtsPots which has around 20 staff to look after visa, travel, house keeping, food, guide etc requirements.

Lets also assume a monger spends a service fee 50 USD on visa processing, currency exchange, travel ticket, internet surfing etc (price keeps varying depending upon the country but lets not take that into account right now), 50 USD on transportation, 50 USD per day on apartments ( lets say he stays for a week), 20 USD per day on food plus miscellaneous another 20 USD.

    Now, 50+50+50+20+20=190 USD ~lets take another 20 percent off ... that would be 150 USD for one day stay ..now for one month 50 rent + 20 food + 10 transportation + 10 miscellaneous * 50 rooms = 4500 per day*30 = 135000 USD/ month *12 = 1.6 million/year minus overhead cost and salaries lets take 50 percent off 1.6 million === 80,0000 USD.

I have being overly generous in assuming negative figures and make it look like a bargain..offcourse the profit in USD will be much much more as the employees will be paid locally ..much like first world service in a third world country.

Even if ISG HOtsPots starts in one city with highest ISG member activity lets say Bangkok which has may be 10,000 active members ...I cannot begin to imagine the potential of such a venture...I do not see any reason whatsoever why an ISG member would go any other place for his requirements once HOtsPots starts functioning ....Hmmm 500 room monger palace for ISG members in Bangkok....folks we are talking about giving competition to Hilton et'all in a months period.

Jackson would be our chairman, and the rest of the management would be seniors members who have gained the trust of fellow members over the years, truly democratic process to get top forum members for the different management positions.

Now the question how to get that 1 million dollar to get things started for the first destination. Well.. To get the initial investment, im proposing an ""ISG HOtsPots"" Fund...of just 100 USD per member or higher which would easily cross 1 million USD with 10,000 members which is just 6 percent of total members strength.

The investors would get yearly dividend Plus discounts on apartment stay plus a tag of founding members ...folks...with china forum booming and taking over Thailand forum ...I believe in couple of years from the day "ISG HOtsPots" starts, all the founding members would get to a level of free mongering around the world staying at ISG HOtsPots and getting income from the dividends.

With Asian economy booming ,china and India half of the world population doing round the world trips....demand will far outstretch supply by miles.

I see right now no negative to the business model for ISG HOtsPots....if we all collectively believe with a 100 USD in our pockets ....we could all very well achieve...a mongering experience which will cherish generations to come ..yeahh..thats a bit heavy word......just to get the end effects in order

I look forward to your comments ...
    Loser.
