I was going to spare details but Albert's friend wanted to raise the temperature. The booze thing did happen as I was the one that bought the booze. QBert negotiated the terms of they're allowing us to have the party.
The guy that had to pay 1000 pesos is a guy I met and now hang with in Colombia. He can pipe up if he wants to.

I had a great time there and will revisit if returning alone. Otherwise I am renting a nice apartment in Poblado like I am for the first 2 weeks next month.
On another note I did spend one night at the MM. And to be honest Lina was great and Greg was very cordial but despite this I and 2 wingmen checked out the next day. We did this primarily for 2 reasons;
A) The construction noise was worse in the morning than we anticipated.
B) There were 3 guests at the MM I could not handle at all ! For me to be around them long would have been an invitation for real trouble.
On the other hand the group at VIPs when I was there was a classy and laid back group.
I'm sure with less construction noise and the abscense of the 3 overly rowdy guests that thing would have been better.
On another note, I like to have the option of playing regular chicas. With the noteriety of the Mansion I doubt this could happen.

Posts: 368I can't imagine that being true. Maybe Albert can chime in. I've heard so many great things about VIP as well as El Castillo and the Mansion. It all depends on what you want. But a hotel that won't let you stock your own fridge? Me thinks this is not a true statement.

I have no idea what anyone is talking about with rules.
I have been to vip twice. I stock up in miami at duty free and bring it to vip. No prob. I also go to the supermarket every other day and come back with alot of food, party shit ect. And never had a hassle.
So please tell the truth out there.
Albert hangs out and chills with everyone. He don't care how many chicas you bring there or how late you party. There have been plenty of times where albert myself, poor but horny and reg travlr went into the late late hours with the whole party thing.

The Castillo is muy tranquilo and you can pop into the Mansion if you like.
Plus it's fun to watch the Aussie in action at times and hang with Roberto of the Castillo.
Actually it's been tough to get back to Medellin ... I love the city but I've got too many chicas in Cali that need me :)
To each their own .... enjoy!

Posts: 734Thanks for the offer Albert but I am currently not in Colombia.
Durango, it would be nice if you could read before you go off on a tirade. As stated at the beginning of the thread, I like the facilities at VIP, in fact, I stated that they were better than the Mansions'.
Since you are adding fuel to the fire, I will elaborate,
One afternoon, as there was nothing happening a few of the guys decided to have some company over. We made the mistake of calling it a party. We bought some booze. The party was shut down as we were not allowed to bring our own booze into the house and we did not have permission to have a party. After some negotiation we were allowed to have some people over so long as that all booze and food consumed was sold by the VIP. Yes there was a house surcharge for the pizza we ordered.
I was sparing the details but if you want to beak off and get details, I can give you details.
Another friend of mine walked in drinking a bottle of water unaware of a "party" going on. In swoops the owner analyzing the bottle of water, saying that it was not the house's water. He had to pay $1,000 pesos just to drink his own half empty bottle of water in the house.
So you rant that is is a hotel/Bed and Breakfast and not mom and dads' house. Well, does the above situation sound like a hotel or mom and dad's house.

Albert,
I got your back any day of the week from these bullsh*t comments about the house. I don't look at it as a hotel. This is like the house you hung out at as teenagers with no parents. It sounds like this Beersterry never had any party life as a kid so he has to bash THE PARTY MAN of Medellin. Sounds like you guys were boring because we all partied EVERYNIGHT we were there with Albert and Kevin. Had women of our own, even though Albert made sure there were extras incase you wanted to do a switch-a-roo. I did on one of the nights. To anyone reading this. Albert or Kevin is not there to hold your hand. He is the WING-MAN that will line you up. If you don't even know how to talk to P4P women then you have no business traveling to monger. Stay at home and wack-off or go to the Mansion where I've ((heard)) they will baby feed you worn out working girls that will just hang around all day and just nag the [CodeWord140] out of you to session with you. VIP will shoot them on their way, just give the sign to Maestro and he will work his magic and they will be in a taxi on their way if you don't like what you see. To sum this up, this has got to be the most ridiculous comments that ONLY Albert has all the girls. Sounds like even P4P girls didn't even want to talk to you. THATS SAD my friend. Don't know you but I will be there the first two weeks of August so if you have any comments about this post you will be invited to express yourself in person. To the rest of the Memorial Day crew. Wazzzzzzzzzzz UP fellas. Rainman3, Wetnose, KB151, Tomrn10 and the others know who you are.

Q-bert I would say your correct. The vip is more relaxed and easy going. You can still party it up there as me and reg travlr did with albert.
It is also a place if you have numbers or don't. I have none but reg travlr and albert have tons. So not a problem. But we are forgetting 1 part of mongering. The hunt mongering has many sides. Here are a few off the top of my head
1= Dominhoes {delivery of chicas to you through phone #s
2= Hookups through albert, your buddys or other guests staying there.
3= Simple meet and greet.
4= The hunt, mayorista and other areas
5= Pull some chicas from the casas / ho houses

Posts: 252When i am in Medellin , the best place to go and the only place worth going to that is open on a sunday night is a place called DeJaVu`s, it is a kind of HipHop club, nice place, but small, and they try and get as many people into this small place as they can. Best thing to do is go in a small group there and try and get a VIP area,i belive it only cost a large bottle of rum.

Gents,
I have stayed at both places. Like other things in life, there are pluses and minuses to both places. Whether those pluses or minuses have to do with personalities of owners, other guests, the noise factor, the obtaining pussy factor or any other important facet to each individual traveler, it hardly matters.
Both Greg and Albert have a lot on their plates and in general. And this is just my opinion. Both make sure that the guests are semihappy. The other part of the semihappy is the individual guest who, given all the opportunities there, should have little complaint about either establishment.
This is not a can we just all get along comment. It's more. There is more than enough room in Medellin for both places.
And, if in fact, there are freebies going out, I will write a glowing report about either place.

Posts: 163Beersterry is a friend of mine. I have traveled with him and several other members of this forum throughout Colombia. I will not let anyone here berate him because he as an opinion about Club VIP that's not flattering.
I actually stayed with him and with another friend from this forum at Club VIP and the experience was exactly like he and the "hearsay" guy described . In fact, we were hassled on a couple of situations like "having a party" (calling 4 escorts over and eating pizza by the pool at 3 pm) without telling/paying Club VIP. And another situation where my friend's girl that he had been with for a week at Club VIP forgot her ID one night and had to travel one hour round trip to get it or was not allowed back in despite pleading with Albert and Tom (previous owner).
I have nothing against Albert or Club VIP and in fairness it was maybe a year ago and the owner was Tom who wanted to keep it low, low-key. In fact, I hope they can provide good competition to the Mansion because it makes for better service at both places. I think it's been pretty well documented that the Club VIP is where you go if you have your own hook-ups and like it a little quieter than the Mansion. Also, I think Club VIPs house is a little nicer then the Mansion and a lot nicer then El Castillo. The Mansion is where you go when you want more of a party atmosphere with girls available for the plucking. The pool parties at the Mansion are about 25K COP is automatically added to your bill whether you had one beer with no food or twenty beers and 5 hot dogs / beef. There are usually a good selection of girls which will go for 100K to 150K depending on your negotiating skills.
Actually, you know what, I am going to put my money where my mouth is and stay at the Club VIP this Friday if there is any room available to see the changes for myself.
I will post about my experience on Saturday or Sunday.
