Posts: 13Tbk is business as usual, been like that since late May.
That was my first trip to TBK, after reading so much about that place. Will be making my third trip to TBK, this coming Friday. Accommodation has been arranged, my favourite flavour of the month has been booked, Kofa will be waiting for me at the Ferry Terminal. Looking forward to a little are & are. Will provide a field report upon my return.

Posts: 44Just got back from TB
Hi Guys,
Everything is back to normal. Everyone is happy again. From the cewek to the papi and all in the trade! I understand from my cewek that she and several others went into hiding in the kampong (village) with no amenities.
However, their papi did sent them food and rations. They had to resort to candle at night. The price was as before. No increase despite there were
some "entertainments" went round. Its still money do the talking.
Batu Pahat is running a new ferry service though it can be better. The hotel receptionist said that some passengers had to wait for a full load before the ferry disembark and its a longer ride than Kukup.
I did enjoy my stay.
Cheers

I just came back from Balai over the weekend and its confirmed all the booking joints are opened now.
However the situation in Balai is still pretty tense as polisi is still conducting ad hoc checks in the night spots like Bravo and Maxi's KTV lounge.
On Saturday night when we were at Bravo disco, there was a polisi spot check and we were asked empty our pockets to show them that we were not carry illegal stuffs like drugs etc. They also checked girls who were under 20 for their tepae too.
While the working girls are permitted to return to work, i believe those of us going still need to be cautious and pls do keep a low profile.
It will take a while before everything returns to normal in this town.
Just my 2 cents
